I'm just a Yank trying to learn the game. Australian Football League makes the American Football League look like school children playing around in a sandbox. I give much respect to the Aussies and the AFL players. Hard Men for sure. I want to watch a game in person (bucket list item). I'm hooked!
You’d think the premiers would have more highlights than 17th on the ladder with pressure plays, brad close had more run down tackles than west coast combined
Interesting that the AFL makes highlight videos celebrating the bump and promoting the game, yet the moment a player does it they’re likely to face suspension
Personally, I think that the extra shove once you've put an opponent on the ground, should be a 50m penalty, regardless of who is getting the next kick.
For example: Player A, tackles Player B, brings him to the ground and is awarded a free kick for the incorrect disposal of the ball. But after this, he shoves B who is either laying there or trying to get up. A 50m penalty should be applied *IMMEDIATELY* before A is allowed to take his kick... If this means that he is moved from the centre circles to centre half back then so be it. But he MUST come back behind his new mark before the Umpire allows either time on or play to continue.
I am an American and I am curious about this sport. I am so confused as to what I am watching. I have a question. In American football if I were on defense and you throw the ball but I catch it then that is really good for my team because that's called an interception and now we have possession. In Aussie rules if I am on defense you throw/kick the ball but I catch it, is that good for my team or is everyone going to look at me and say, "what the hell are you doing?!"
I call it Australian dodgem cars hand ball. A rather stupid game. People deliberately injuring one another. Most of these players are done with injury related issues by the time they reach 55. But who really wins on peoples stubidity? Yep! The money makers. 😅😅
There really should be a tackle/defensive act of the year
But a tackle is a tackle, you could only really judge it by the potential of the offensive play.
Mcrreary should be the whole video, hes a tackling machine
Surprised Nobles efforts against freo didn't make it
I love that half of Melbourne's are Neal-Bullen being caught holding the ball 🤣
Gary Rohan either never starts or doesn't stop
Never heard it said better. He's a gun when he has his day, just happens that those days don't come too often
Blimey! You'd think Johnny Noble's 1 minute of the best smothers, tackles and other pressure acts against Freo would've been the showpiece.

As if you couldn't find any room for Robbie Fox's individual brilliance in the qualifying final
i was waiting for it, probably the best defensive play all year
@@chuggle7 Wouldn't say THE best, and I'm a swans supporter, but it'd be in the top 3-5
I know it was fabulous a lot better than most of these!
Who?
No fredrick chasing down the bulldogs from the finals??
Victorian making the video!
@@CJ428U yeah must’ve been since there wasn’t a single clip about a non-Victorian....oh wait

It’s a massive pitch. Fit tough blokes.

To be fair most of the highlights involving West Coast were them getting run down 🤣
How can you not have Z.Guthrie cleaning up Rowbottom in the Granny?? One of the best fair bumps you'll ever see
First of all how is this not at least in 1080p? Secondly, where tf is Robbie Fox?
I love this, such a shame I cannot watch due to time difference 😢
How is this not available in HD
That feeling when your team crunchs someone👌

Showed nothing for Carlton when we had so many good tackles and smothers and stuff but ofc they show it when we mess up, classic afl

Nice compilation.
Idea for content: team most hammered in tackles bumps in 22’
Idea no.2 most aggressive team in 22’ with most effective bumps, tackles etc
Suprised not to see Docherty vs Kennedy last year

The best team ever!🤗

Agreed. His teammates should've been all over that one.

How many teams are there is this league and are all the players australian ?
How many of these tackles and bumps would result in a report this years softy rules
Class sport
You absolutely high!

Most of these tackles would be a week or 2 this year
Brutal 🤣
Muita porradaria!
How is mcreery's match winning tackle r12 not in here
00:43 is an illegal below the knees hit. Shouldn't be praised for breaking the rules
When the AFL can’t upload 1080p60fps highlights? 🤷♂️
wheres robbie fox v melbourne final
What good?
I wish Brian Taylor and James Brayshaw wouldn't shout so much when they are commentating.
Can we stop pretending there's bumps? There's no bumps anymore there's a couple of accidental collisions but the bumps dead.
If only was Robbie Fox last name is Daicos. Then it'll be first one to appear. Robbie Daicos.
Best of 2024 - bd mros, bad umpiring, bad score reviews and ginivan

its good for you, when you mark/catch it then you just boot it down to your offence
did I miss Cripps bump?
Shuushh Shuushh afl doesn't want people talking about it. Umpire caught betting on Cripps to win the brownlow. Nothing to see here
1:35 is it just me or is that a flop
7 footer over 110 kegs running into you full speed without you seeing him? Not a flop champ
