Tip one : He’s not dead until you’re in his inventory Tip two : Yes he saw you Tip Three : There’s always one more Tip Four : there’s always one more Tip five : there’s *always* one more
Ah heck you really got me with tip 2. I definitely find myself dying here and there because I just pray someone didnt notice me. They always do though.
*Tip 101:* The best and cheapest way to level Strength is by sprinting while overweight. Strength is one of the best skills in the game. Start your raids already overweight by only 0.1 kg; best way to do that is invest in buying a document case and filling it with SAS Drives which you will put into your secure container. If you’re a couple of kilo’s off, fill your backpack with stacks of Buckshot. As you loot, just discard the buckshot, as it’s cheap and weighs a lot. Alternatively, if you’re running a heavy gear setup and going into a high loot map - since SAS Drives weigh a ton and are ~40-60k each, remove a few SAS and just take more buckshot, that way you can discard more buckshot and easier avoid the issue of being extremely overweight. *Tip 102:* The best way to level Endurance is by doing hatchet runs(Particularly on Interchange, as you can try and rush the two tech. stores ASAP. If you spawn far from there, run around the map hitting the hidden stashes. Don’t worry about dying either, it’s expected - the profit yielded by selling items to dealers covers the cost of meds and more usually. Also a great way to level stress resistance, gain dealer rep. and also learn the maps without the fear of losing lots of ₽) *Tip 103:* The best way to get the most exp. out of a raid is to not apply heal after raid. Instead, heal in your hideout using: AI-2 kits, bandages, esmarch tourniquets, and single use splints. Do not use any other meds, as they are much more expensive. Yet even going cheap, it may cost slightly more, but it’s roughly ~500 exp. per death. Over 10 deaths, that is enough PMC exp. to count as a highly successful raid. *Tip 104:* Buy a pistol, get the best/2nd to best ammo for it, stack 2 loaded clips in your secure container, and go in with nothing but that. It’s a low investment, higher chance of death. Especially with the other clips in your secure, you’ve gotta be fast, extra careful, and try to avoid some fights; but every scav/PMC kill you’ve already made a profit and you will move much faster then most players because of this. The bullets should be able to take out most players via headshot, or a few body taps as well. Not only that, but it makes you a better and more aware player overall: You’ll become used to working with little, using every resource you come across to your advantage. It will also allow you to play without much of a gear fear aspect. These IRL skills transfer over to your big boy gear runs. *Tip 105:* Pack a Golden Star in your secure container each raid. It’s a long lasting painkiller, but also spendy.. so if you’re not rich, just carry it around for the added bonus of giving you +5/+5, energy/hydration over 5 seconds with each application. This item has personally saved me countless times from starving or becoming dehydrated which I only use it for this purpose if I’m early in the wipe and low on consistent ₽ income. *Tip 106:* Do Scav runs in Reserve to acquire the most profit. For several reasons: It’s packed to the brim with high end loot. Also for this reason, your chance of coming across piles of dead PMC’s with end game loot is much higher. The map is the smallest consistent high end loot map, so it’s more likely to find bodies of PMC’s then others. And there’s also a ton of Scavs already on the map too, which will draw aggro towards PMC’s and (slightly) discourage player Scavs from killing you (don’t count on it much however, this reason is very situational) *Tip 107:* Don’t sprint everywhere if you don’t know the maps well. Sprinting during a firefight is in some ways technically safer then doing so when not, considering the enemy already knows where you’re at and there’s a good chance you know too, are avoiding shots, etc... Sprinting audible surface noise goes from loudest - quietest: metal, wood, puddles, glass, concrete, bushes, gravel/sand, and grass. Try using grass routes when sprinting over all of them, because the difference is massive to the next lowest sound audible/gravel/sand - however, I avoid metal, wood, and puddles at all costs unless I absolutely have to/am quite sure there is no danger present.. even if, be prepared to lure murderers after you’ve done so, get to a safe spot and just stay still for a hot minute in a spot with good cover, on the defense. “Sprinting and gambling” is one of, if not *thee*, most likely way to die without firing a single shot in EFT. *Tip 108:* Only sell SSD drives to Fence for highest profit, even more so then flea market. *Tip 109:* Bullet drop in Tarkov is much more brutal then almost any other shooter. The spread is nasty too. Remember, the ‘dot’ on your sights is only an estimation. An estimation which should be taken into account which gun type you’re using. And further broken down into which exact gun you’re using. Practice fully kitted guns you’ve never used in Offline mode first to avoid a huge disappointment. It will actually end up saving you time in the long run. *Tip 110:* Never, ever ever *ever* try and fight anybody that is manning a mounted machine gun and they already have you in their sights; or, if you took a few shots at them and they missed. Take cover *immediately.* 1 round of those will instantly kill anybody at all upon impact, even with the highest armor/helmet.. it will still delete anything once it hits. *Tip 111:* Pack an injector in your secure container for added safety. There’s 15 different kinds, I suggest reading up on them and use the one that best suits you - they cover a multitude of situations. I usually just put a Zagustin in my rig, as it’s only ~15-20k, so it’s not a huge loss; I use it for the purpose of instantly removing all bleeds and preventing new bloods for 1.40 mins - very effective in firefights, has saved me numerous times. I keep a Regenerative eTG in secure however, as it’s about 40k, and gives a massive boost to fighting against more then 1 player at a time, and I use it when I’ve already taken a lot damage, but also have a foreseeable chance of winning. It soaks down your hydration/energy once the negative effects kick in, but the Golden Star renews that for me; which I apply when they effects wear off. *Tip 112:* Do the quests! They’re meant to teach you the game just as much as they reward you highly by the time you hit level 30. You’ll be able to purchase end game loot for something like 50% off in most cases, and each death becomes less and less of a worry. When you level your Hideout as well, you’ll be making a sustainable income which also contributes towards less impact from dying as well. *Tip 113:* The hideout is never really there to just hand you ₽ for nothing until much, much later on (Bitcoin farm level 3). It’s more so used for XP bonuses towards skills later on. However, knowing which items to craft in it bought off the flea market that yield any profit whatsoever should be made anytime you get the chance. As it’s important to level up your crafting/hideout management for later on. Even with the Bitcoin farm, that pretty much alone just covers the cost of Air Filters each day along with *maybe* 1 - 1/2 of a full gear load out. Instead, you’ll be granted the alternative when finding items during a raid to combine/collect certain items to put together to yield a larger profit. Also, it’s beneficial as the items it yields via crafting are considered ‘found in raid.’ Try to always be crafting something to level it up. Salewa materials can be bought from Therapist and sold on the flea to pretty much break even - however, they can be handy for raids as well; but mostly, you’ll be crafting those to gain a huge chunk of that XP overtime. *Final and biggest tip:* No weapon/armor in this game is *EVER* 100% yours. You’re going to lose it someday, and that’s what it’s there for - to contribute to the games economy. It’s a baseline factor, and applies to all degree of player, whether it be a Godlike gamer, or the noobiest of noob. *Do everything in your power to erase gear fear:* Insure your load outs. Learn the maps offline mode/hatchet/pistol runs - learn multiple routes for each destination. Turn your volume lower, but still high enough to hear everything; as to not get startled as best as humanly possible when being shot randomly out of nowhere. But still be able to hear everything with ease. It gets better as time goes on and you level your dealers/hideout more. Have fun, and always try to see the bright side in dying!! Learning in this game is going to always yield the most success. This game teaches, enlightens, and strictly focuses on the aspect: *Through failure, comes learning.* In the sense(example): Maybe you saw a dead body outside of a building, heard gunshots indoors from that direction, and have a great suspicion somebody is in there. You go in there, with no other implications that somebody is there, just a few hints. You end up dying. You should pat yourself on the back, because even though he killed you - you were right, he was in there. It’s the small things in this game that will ultimately build up to the bigger picture. And I absolutely promise you, once you get the grasp to mastering this game - you’ll excel at almost any other game fast paced shooter you’ll ever cross paths with. Because not even the most dedicated pros are invincible here.. and for this reason, not 1 single person has *ever* Escaped From Tarkov. fin
I‘ve come a long way since I first played Tarkov, but some of these tips are still very helpful. So much so, that I’ve screenshot them to refer to later. Thanks man!
Tip 102: when receiving back insurance items, pressing Alt+Click on an item in the insurance tab will auto-equip it to your PMC. Useful for when your stash is full and you cant put any insurance items back into it.
They used to be so much worse. Back in closed beta maybe 2017 or early 2018 they would do a 108 spin and shoot you in the face with a buckshot or a makarov at 100 meters while you were in concealment.
1:59 best inexpensive bag/inventory expanders are the MPPV and LBV rigs, both provide 2:1 space expansion. The A18 is one internal slot above 2:1 but very expensive for the purpose.
I respect this man NOT because he plays Tarkov, but because the donates a lot of stream earnings to Charity! There's a man with a purpose! Respect! Keep up the great work and motivation to all!!!
Your recent guides have completely changed the way I played. From hideout to quests, thank you for the info, it’s nice to have a real reason to play this game!
I'd say a painful tip I learned the hard way is if you're running against the clock to extract but know you won't make it before the raid ends, drop any insured items at the last minute as they will NOT be picked up by whoever you insured them with if they're on your person when the raid ends (and you don't make it out before the timer hits 0) and will be lost completely otherwise.
Been playing tarkov for about 8 days now.saved 3.5 mill and found alot of good loot. I'm getting alot better with killing now and confidence in the game. Gear fear is kinda gone unless I find something super awesome that I want. I am addicted to this game. It's so good. Cant wait until streets comes out man. Looks like it gonna be hella fun
This guys quality is just insane. He does a 48 hour stream and I actually watch like 10 hours of it instead of just muting. Oh yeah and all his donos go to charity. What a great guy
Pest you're the whole reason I could even start my Tarkov experience last wipe, got the game when it was first made available but could never get very far until I found you, cheers mate.
Tip 102: You can turn the UI sounds down in your settings to make looting and inventory management silent. This will make it much easier to hear enemy footsteps while you have your head down.
Hey Pestily! (and editors!) For the longest time while playing Tarkov I've been unable to figure out what the particular gun sounds I hear off in the distance are. Many online videos only feature the sounds of weapons as you are holding them, but their sound signature changes quite a bit as you hear them farther off. I'd absolutely adore a guide on these as I always feel unable to figure out exactly what the weapons are in my surroundings. It's not something that's easy to test by myself and I'm sure that unlike the nightmare of balance changes each patch, this is the kind of video we could look back on for years!
Tip 102: Regarding fast reloads, rebind it to ctrl + r, or the normal reload animation will not start until the game knows if you double click (0.3 sec faster by default). It is also faster to quick reload this way.
Thank you very much on the advices. Especially in the beginning, these are crucial. Two of those, players can't stress enough, again especially in the beginning and for those not too good in FPS games. 1. Learn both some key commands and the maps, especially the maps and exits. 2. Watch food and water at least once per raid and don't be too sparse with drinking/eating. Once you are down to 30/40% Eat, drink up to 100%. a) food and water is not hard to come by. b) in case you get shot, you got that bit longer before you die.
7:51 So if grenades damage is based only on a blast radius, why do they have stats such as 'fragment count', and 'damage per fragment'? Are individual fragments not actually simulated?
I believe the blast radius is just how close you need to be to a nade (in clear LOS) for it to be lethal. Fragment count/damage per fragment is probably calculated as you'd expect, it's just restricted to the blast radius.
@@kvhn946 the blast radius would be the lethal radius that turns your inside liquid. But ive been fragged in the face from 20 or so meters tho. Ate some shrap to the jaw.
@@digitalisation ui sound is the sounds only you hear not the server. Gives you an idea of what sounds other players will hear you make. For instance i believe loading ammo in your rig is client side not server, so other players cant hear you load ammo from your pockets into empty mags in your rig. Also turning them down means you can hear pesky players creepin on you. Lol
@@Chilledoutredhead appreciate it. i've always wondered why in stream everything seems clearer. Usually people jsut kek and say wear a headset :/ but this is the info i was after! :D
Good to note also... if u lean left ur character sticks more of his body out around the corner giving the enemy more of ur body to shoot at. I think this is because ur character holds the gun right handed and it makes the sight for u to ads different than if u leaned right. I could be wrong I was watching klean stream lastnight and he was talking about that. And also u can blind fire left around the corner just enough so ur close to the wall u can ads and u will be a smaller target. And it u can have it so people will shoot ur arms fist so u dont get head tapped right away then while holding blind fire u can go straight into ads quickly while being a smaller target. He explains so much stuff. All these videos are very helpful
hey pestily idk of you read this but you helped me to keep playing tarkov and keep trying even when it gets rough. your really an idol for me the way you play and the person you are. you work really hard and i wish you all the best!.
Reload slightly faster, by rebinding your reload to 'press' and fast reload to 'press' 'Alt+R', so the game doesn't wait and calculate whether you are planning a 'double click' reload... saves maybe 0.1 seconds
Google Tarkov Sherpa Hub, they usually have updated maps with squares so you can estimate the shot distance. Use the range finder in the lower left corner of a PSO sight in order to measure range. Do note, that the default round for the particular gun is used for the range. Compare your currently used round with the default round in terms of velocity to gauge if you should aim higher or lower. Use tracer ammunition to practice.
Commenting to help the algorithm. Super new to tarkov. Just started in 12.9 your videos have been a great help. I'm not a great pc player so I'm having a hard time with the key binds. I'm jealous on how fluid your movements are. Thanks again for the great videos!
Yyyeah, I cringed a little when he said that. I'm a new player, so yeah, I can't argue cause I don't know for sure. But fuck, I swear, I hear sharpnel pieces shred pieces of walls off around me when I see a grenade explosion, like bullet hits and ricochets. So I believe a grenade throws shrapnel in circle. Yeah, maybe it also has a blast damage but I think shrapnel is a thing
@@KeksimusMaximus I think he meant the shrapnel is not what damages you in this game but the explosion itself. The shrapnel flies well past the damage radius.
I would love to see a guide displaying all the different gun sounds from an outside perspective. There are so many and I've got 500 hours under my belt and can't tell what's what.
Here’s a tip: if you do happen to step on a mine and survive, DO NOT BACKTRACK. Each mine can explode as many times as it needs to, and it will need to if it is stepped on again.
These cache run videos from you and others Pest are upping my KDR and income 10 fold. I consistently get 1-2 kills by deciding to bypass a cache or 2 during a raid. Appreciate it :)

After months of only being able to watcg tarkov videos of pest or Aqua, I finally got just enough for a setup and its installing as I’m typing. Thanks for all the content and tips for scrubs like myself now! Happy hunting!
Was surprised Pestily hadn’t done something like this already! Psycho ghost has his 100 hunt showdown tips. Pestily has Tarkov.. now Blooprint just needs to do 100 tips for Rust.
4:02 also, if you lean and slowly move around a corner to try and peek and you stop moving, the moment you stop, the character peeks a few steps more around the corner but very fast, so you can use that to move in (safe) increments and get fast peek "pop-in's" so you can surprise your enemy and shoot first, before they can react and think about their next move.
Great video, nothing new to me because I've been watching you for so long you have mentioned most of them. Really looking forward to the raid series this wipe.
Hey Pestily. Great to see you listen to your viewers (new raid series). Sometime in the past year I requested that you be more aggressive in your plays and show us more PvP. Really excited about the new format; the best part is it wouldn't appear as if you're doing a chore if you know what I mean. In your stream the other day you asked us to leave suggestions here so I was hoping you'd incorporate this in to your raid series: Most of the times you go out with iron sights. While it shows how confident you are with your gunplay it leaves us in a predicament. We want to follow suit but when we do, bring shit at aim, we just lose fights. IF there was a way for you to show us how to consistently support our need for good reflex sights would you show it to us in these raid series? Like consistently buying looting sights and reusing them rather than vendoring them?
As a new player, something I've found useful. If you have extra buttons on your mouse, bind change optic and toggle device (flashlight etc.) To them. Having all the controls on your weapon on one side of your play area has prevented alot of confusion for me

Love the Captain Price look you got going on, Great Vid!!!!!!!
Hey, I'm here just to say "Thank you" to Pestily and his editor.
Keep up the good work, guys!
props to this editor for putting in all those memes, kept it funny
Tip 102: You can turn the UI sounds down in your settings to make looting and inventory management silent. This will make it much easier to hear enemy footsteps while you have your head down.
Tarkov can be ruthless. Your streams and videos have made a huge difference in how I play. Thanks Pestily.
One tip I’d give is that recoil is lower when prone or crouched. Awesome video!
I'm also confused. I swear I've been struck by stray fragments outside the initial blast radius. Maybe he means insta-death within that blast radius?
@@92Jdmsupra I believe that’s what he meant
I believe the blast radius is just how close you need to be to a nade (in clear LOS) for it to be lethal. Fragment count/damage per fragment is probably calculated as you'd expect, it's just restricted to the blast radius.
@@kvhn946 the blast radius would be the lethal radius that turns your inside liquid. But ive been fragged in the face from 20 or so meters tho. Ate some shrap to the jaw.
@@rocketman3046 Lol perhaps, but let's remember we're talking about a video game. :p
from all the brand new players, thank you. alot of this wouldnt get to us without folks like yall.
I’m surprised you didn’t use the ui menu tip that makes looting sounds in the game world lower. That is a big tip new players should know.
can you explain? i dont get it
@@digitalisation ui sound is the sounds only you hear not the server.
Some amazing tips! Something I just learned about the F1 thing is you dont actually have to shoot to yell, you can double tap F1 to yell.
11:07 Cultists: Imma bout to end this mans career
I'd be lost in this game without your guides. Thank you!
It’d be cool if after using the CMS kit you could find the bullet or fragment on the ground and keep it in your hideout or inventory as a trophy.
11:27 Isn't it X and not Z? spamming Z might throw your bag on the floor ^^
I have it on Z too

hey pestily idk of you read this but you helped me to keep playing tarkov and keep trying even when it gets rough. your really an idol for me the way you play and the person you are. you work really hard and i wish you all the best!.
Reload slightly faster, by rebinding your reload to 'press' and fast reload to 'press' 'Alt+R', so the game doesn't wait and calculate whether you are planning a 'double click' reload... saves maybe 0.1 seconds
Slush use to do this but I didn't like it. Personal preference really

The subtle "YEET"'s when he's throwing nades are amazing
I'd like to know more about building Range Cards
join the army theyll teach you
Google Tarkov Sherpa Hub, they usually have updated maps with squares so you can estimate the shot distance. Use the range finder in the lower left corner of a PSO sight in order to measure range. Do note, that the default round for the particular gun is used for the range. Compare your currently used round with the default round in terms of velocity to gauge if you should aim higher or lower. Use tracer ammunition to practice.
@@D3vilLazol you know NOTHING!

My friend and me died multiple times from shrapnel damage, Mr Pestily!
I was looking for this comment. I've had shrapnel hit me from nades I couldn't see they can send shrapnel out and it can ricochet and still hit you.
Shrapnel is definitely a threat.

@15:47 never look directly at the corner that someone is going to push, always lead it a bit... learnt that the hard way today haha
Here’s a tip: if you do happen to step on a mine and survive, DO NOT BACKTRACK. Each mine can explode as many times as it needs to, and it will need to if it is stepped on again.
I don’t think you’ll have to worry about stepping on a second mine after the first one 🚫🦵🏾

He looks like captain price from call of duty right
4:02 also, if you lean and slowly move around a corner to try and peek and you stop moving, the moment you stop, the character peeks a few steps more around the corner but very fast, so you can use that to move in (safe) increments and get fast peek "pop-in's" so you can surprise your enemy and shoot first, before they can react and think about their next move.

Hey Pestily. Great to see you listen to your viewers (new raid series). Sometime in the past year I requested that you be more aggressive in your plays and show us more PvP. Really excited about the new format; the best part is it wouldn't appear as if you're doing a chore if you know what I mean. In your stream the other day you asked us to leave suggestions here so I was hoping you'd incorporate this in to your raid series:
Most of the times you go out with iron sights.
