Yes it is!!! It looked too flimsy at first. But my buddy that spends more time than most people climbing and developing had one and raved about the comfort. I bought one to save space in my pack. It’s still so comfortable. So light. Holds huge racks. Climbs ice. Flashy colors. I have a spare.
I loved the original made in Canada Arc’teryx harness from the late 90s early 2000s. I can’t remember the name, but it was black and white. And best thing - it was cheaper than all the other harnesses back in the day. My favorite backpack ever was also an Arc’teryx from around the same era.
My personal favorite for projecting is the Metolius Waldo. It’s big, bulk and quite heavy but if I know im going to hang for a long time it is superb! For sending and sport climbing I generally use the Metolius Trad harness. It’s still very comfortable but like half the weight!
I've used the AR395 for years and I wouldn't consider any other harness (I prefer the adjustable leg loops). It is shockingly comfy despite apparently having no padding. Every time I try other "top of the line" harnesses, they seem crap compared with the 395.
Have a AR395A and I enjoy it a lot as a trad climber. I think my next one will either be a Petzl Sitta who has the same waste technology as arc'teryx or I might buy a Petzl Aquila for all those gear loops! 😁
I tried the AR395A and didn't find it very comfortable to my surprise. Just got the blue ice cuesta adjustable and I find it super comfortable. Just shows that harness fit is a bit like a shoe, some work for you and some dont!
Let us know if you agree and if not, what is the best harness ever?
Maybe the DMM Renegade, the previous model of which was better.

Always worth buying a spare when you find something you like!
The dog eating a fly at 1:10 is brilliant, me and the mrs couldn’t stop laughing 😂😂
Funny wasn’t it 😂

I'll have to google that one!

Never had a Metolius one but they always load dead comfy!

Ace when you find something ideal for you!
I gave mine away because of that plastic on the gear loops. I bought the C-quence after that and love it!
I wondered if they were worth glueing, but never got around to it..! I've never tried a C Quence, I don't see many around.

Glad you like the Cuesta! I've used mine loads and really like it :)
I love mine and still use it and would hate to retire it someday. Don’t need adjustable leg loops
Yeah I don't think I've ever wanted adjustable leg loops personally!
I just got a blue ice cuesta. It doesn’t have quite as large of gear loops but its lighter and way cheaper.
My AR-395a is flawless and, most importantly, matches my DMM draws nicely.
Matching kit is the most important bit!
First comment!!! I love your content so much! Have you ever tried the custom MIsty Mountain Harnesses? Those are amazing.
Glad you like it! I hadn't heard of them before, just had a browse on their website, certainly look comfortable!
DMM Super Couloir was the best (for me) I've ever owned
Troll Mk7 - easily the best harness ever.😀
Haha, debatable!
Soft goods are 10 years
@@GeneRosellini depends on the manufacturer
Arc’teryx really too expensive
