I think we need to remember that Schuyler bibles are hand bound and overall in the making up to 30 people have handled it. This is why small anomalies occur. Every Schuyler bible is unique and hand crafted. I love how this bible looks in every way, especially the colour way of cover to ribbons.
The first Bible I purchased in 2023 (still haven't read it yet -- likely going into it next year) was that Lockman NASB 2020 WM Reference (also my first NASB) -- the "poor man's Stridon." And even though I have not read it yet, it didn't take more than a few looks within for me to REALLY LIKE that layout! So much so that I started looking for something in the ESV (the translation I gravitate towards the most) that would be close, in lieu of an ESV Stridon. And I actually found (but did not purchase) a strong candidate; no cross-references, but very similar (also single-column VBV). And I came close to "pulling the trigger" on that particular ESV . . . And then the pre-order announcement FINALLY dropped for the ESV Stridon. What I was looking for in the first place. And looking through the options, spotting one in a new calfskin offering . . . One pre-order later, and several weeks of waiting, my very first Schuyler arrived last Saturday: *ESV Stridon, Desert Camel FY* (also my very first full yapp Bible, which leads to "To Train or Not To Train, That is the Question."). Oh YEAH . . .
Beautiful! I’m very excited to be receiving mine. I really wanted to get the Stridon before but I’m one who left the NASB2020 for the LSB. I new they would eventually bring this to the ESV and I’m glad it’s finally here. Thanks for allowing me to see it early. I got the Tuscany and I’m hoping for some more stiffness than with the goatskin versions
The Lockman NASB wide margin reference is a homerun. The paper on the Lockman really is quite fantastic and it's very well constructed for a budget edition.
Thanks Tim for the review! I too have the same Bible which arrived last week. The Desert Camel cover is unique in that it has a "micro" texture...similar to what an actual camel skin might feel like. The dark wine colored ribbons and liner colors are growing on me - a truly unique color combo. Reading in this format, single column verse-by-verse, is effortless and great for study.
I just got a desert camel PSQ and it was almost amazing. The full yapp really adds to the calfskin variants handling (page turning, stability in my lap while reading, etcetera). Pro Tip: buy them as gifts for other people, THOSE bibles come in *perfect* condition. I'm unsure how the goatskins' flexion is affected by full yapp. They don't take name imprinting well, even from them.
Thank you so much for this video! Since this is so new, there's not much out about it yet. I've been debating for months on whether or not I want to buy this when it comes out, so this was extremely helpful, especially when we can't see in person before buying. I've decided I want it. But now my bank account says maybe it wasn't so helpful after all, lol! 😂
@KevinSavedByGrace 0 seconds ago I agree with the Tims :) However, I don’t think the tooled line is the culprit. In my opinion, the Jerusalem cross stamp should be centered to the text block so that once the yapp is trained, it doesn’t look off center… with or without the tooled lined
Tim I have a question? As someone with dry skin that has problems with slippery leather, like the crossway heritage black or the Thomas Nelson Classic Center column in black, as opposed to the Brown Goat Skin that I like just fine. Would this be a good choice for not being slippery in the hand in your opinion? I am considering the Goat Skin as well but, they're not producing my Green Goat Skin anymore😮 But I absolutely Love ❤️ the color and the look of the Desert Camel 🐫 P.S. This would be my first Schyler Bible So I'm going with a full size fully app Quintel!
Damm you Schuyler! Now i have to convince my wife I need another Bible (In addition to the one i just bought from Schuyler!) 😊 Like if the Quintel and Treveris got together, this would be their baby. I want one! Another great review Tim.
Thanks for the info! I got my first Schuyler yesterday, full Yapp. It only came wrapped in one direction only forming the yapp in one direction. I've found some creases on the thicker outer pages, ink blot in the margin on one page, and the cross imprint on the front is shallow on the one side. I'm just curious if these are common or if it seems like I got a "second" or returned bible. None of these are deal breakers but it surprised me to run into so many things within a few minutes of looking at the bible. Thanks again!
Such a beautiful Bible, I just wish it came with blue art gilding instead or red. If it did I would buy it in a heartbeat but thing I’m going to get the black pearl
Hi Tim, I agree that with their full yapped Bibles, at least on the few I own, the cross is off centered and so is the print on the spine. I ignore that in general
I got a PSQ like this recently and had a question since I’m new to Schuyler and premium bibles. Does “desert camel” refer to the calfskin itself or to the color of the calfskin?
@Kermit_D They said it could take up to two weeks. They received the bibles last Tuesday. So ours may not even ship out until next Tuesday. Which would be kinda ridiculous. Hopefully that's not what happens.
@@Dachshund_Smokeymine still hasn't shipped. Got an email saying they "hope" to finish by early next week. Now I'm wondering what the point of pre-ordering was.
That leather is stunning. I have the psq in marbles mahogany but it’s so dark and you don’t really see that marbling too much. I might have to get this one lol

I just got this edition last week I think this might just be the most premium edition I have ever owned.
That’s one beautiful Bible, Tim!🙏✝️👑❤️👆🕊️
I can't wait for this Desert Camel Calfskin edition to become available again.
Ordered mine today! I have a KJV Canterbury and an NIV PSQ. All Schuyler bibles amazing and worth the price!
I’m waiting on mine! Ordered it today. Thanks for the review.
If it had the creeds & confessions in the back, it would become my no.1 bible . It looks stunning
Got this color Bible in the esv study Bible. Cannot wait to get it
I love this color way and the wine contrast is just superb

Nice review, sir. And awesome to hear a J.S. Bach Brandenburg concerto within a Bible review.
All they’d have to do is give us options for thicker paper…36 gsm at least. Please Schuyler
Beautiful, Beautiful

I wish Schuyler would use larger font size for my old tired eyes.
Wow! Beautiful, but wish Schuyler would use 36gsm or thicker paper! Please Tim let them know!
My son is wanting this exact Bible for Christmas. Schuyler Stridon in Desert Camel full yap. Have not been able to find this Bible.
If this was paragraph format, it would be my favorite.
Paragraph Format is the Standard Quintel 👍

Beautiful Bible!! I'm a sucker for a single column bible!!!

Will you be reviewing the Allan ESV SCR?
Hi Tim, I agree that with their full yapped Bibles, at least on the few I own, the cross is off centered and so is the print on the spine. I ignore that in general
I just got the wide margin Canterbury and the cross was off centered also
I’m stuck between this and the Allan SCR. This is a little smaller and more handy, the Allan has the better paper.
Thanks for this Tim! How do this compare to Treveris? :)
I need help, imperial blue goatskin or desert camel calfskin
Good morning. Please , I would like to know where to buy this beautiful bible. At the website it directs is no showing up. Thank you!!!
Any idea when the next run of ESV stridons will happen?
I wish they had the pilcrow to mark paragraphs.
Is yours very, very, dry? I just got a NKJV Stridon and it is the driest leather I've ever seen on a Bible cover.
I got a PSQ like this recently and had a question since I’m new to Schuyler and premium bibles. Does “desert camel” refer to the calfskin itself or to the color of the calfskin?
It refers to the color.
Does the leather appear to be a much warmer hue than the cooler desert camel on Evangelical's web sight?
how does it compare to the tuscany?
Could you tell me if each book starts on a new page in this version? Thank you very much.
It does not
The books do not necessarily start on a new page, but they avoided any awkward breaks that would look off, from what I have seen.
Still waiting for my NKJV psq in black pearl calfskin to be shipped. Was hoping I would get the email today.
Same here, waiting on my NKJV psq in the Desert camel. I emailed them today to see any update on when it may ship.
@Kermit_D They said it could take up to two weeks. They received the bibles last Tuesday. So ours may not even ship out until next Tuesday. Which would be kinda ridiculous. Hopefully that's not what happens.

Schuyler is the only one I've seen where the covers that fold over on the bible....is there a name for that?
Full yap
That leather is stunning. I have the psq in marbles mahogany but it’s so dark and you don’t really see that marbling too much. I might have to get this one lol
I’m waiting on the NKJV PSQ. the Quentel is still too large for everyday carry.
It’s too bad they couldn’t get the spine stamping centered either. Other than that….super nice!
