This is a well-thought-out, balanced review. You show what's done well, what can be done better, details that some may like or dislike, and value for the money. Nice job, Tim.
Yep. I don’t get the appeal of the full yapp. I mean, it’s fine, but to have it as the default is way overboard. Just enough to frame the cover looks great tho, but that’s not even an option.
Great video Tim! I just pulled the trigger on 2 NKJV Quentel's the Tuscany and the Siena full yapp. Yeah I'll be paying off the credit card for a while but I have no buyers remorse. Jesus on!
Was really thinking to purchase the new Quentel. Some things that make me hesitant that nobody is talking about is that they completely removed in text reference markers. I feel at that point they might as well remove the bottom references entirely to reduce page numbers and use 36 GSM paper. The other problem for me is the verse numbers are extremely small and hard to find which could be problematic when preaching and such.
Those Bibles are beautiful, I'm a firm believer that every translation should have their own translation of the Apocrypha. Even if it's a separate booklet.
I have the new non apocrypha ESV Q. Criticisms are- smaller outer margin- no room for notes if you want to write. Smaller 10 pt font is too condensed, hard to read. Ornate caps- wish they used a modern cap instead. 2 pages note paper on regular 28 gsm paper. Thanks for presenting other options out there Tim! Good over view and agree on analine calf issues.
I was so eager to order one but I’m going to hold out for an ESV w/Apochrypha in the PSQ should they ever release one in the future. I want something smallish to pack in my bag for my commutes on the subway or when traveling.
I just got two new Schuylers, the new NLT PSQ, and ESV Quentel, and I’m so disappointed because there is so much printing inconsistency in both! 😳 Super dark print, next to super light print. I think I just purchased my last Schuyler. Super sad.
@anickelsworthbiblereviews both. They had an RSV with Apocrypha in blue that was great, but I think it would be cool to have the esv with apocrypha in blue. Primarily because the breviary I pray is the rsv translation already. Between the two, they are both very similar translations but widely considered the best two in existence when it comes to accuracy and style. I also wouldn't mind a KJV with apocrypha in blue for similar reasons. I think we tend to downplay the KJV as catholics as being a protestant bent translation, but even Catholic scholars like Peter Kreeft prefer it. Especially because the original printing of the KJV included the deuterocanon. Thanks for listening Tim, love your channel, and I hope Protestants like you can continue to help people realize Catholics aren't devil worshipers with a bunch of made up doctrine.
I don't disagree with the opinion of the off center cross being an eye sore BUT I really think it looks pretty centered on this ESV Quentel. At least the one in the video.
@ okay thank you, I’m going with that. Also the hard back diadem on Amazon is only like 35$ right now. Don’t want to pay over 200$ for something that’s not my primary translation.
The thumbnail reminds me that of my issues with the ESV, my biggest might be that they straight up title the Second Letter of St. Paul to the Thessalonians “2 Thessalonians”.
@@anickelsworthbiblereviews I know at the top it gives the full title, I just would’ve preferred they kept the RSV way of doing it instead of putting “2 THESSALONIANS” as the big bold title after it. It’s a pet peeve, I know.
While I certainly understand you don’t like the paper thickness, that doesn’t have anything to do with whether or not it’s premium. That’s based on materials. But…I agree with that the paper is too thin. I don’t know that it’s delicate, it’s just harder to grip.

I love Schuyler bibles. I wish they would do more of them with their normal yapp.

Yesterday I order this bible in this color and leather with apocrypha. Your reviews are great. Thanks
Thanks for all you do to make these videos!

This is great Tim thank you. I would love to purchase this exact Bible if was in my budget & able to. Great review.
I've now found the birthday treat I'm gifting myself next month! :D

Got a video coming to address this.
@@anickelsworthbiblereviews Looking forward to it

The off-centered cross is what has kept me away from the full yapps. I like my yapps tight to the block.
There was no standard yapp option for this edition.
Went with the Crimson Red calfskin FY w/ Apocrypha. So far, SWEET!!
I really wish they offered all the new colors in regular yapp also.
I think they do on the regular editions. Just not with the apocrypha.

Great balanced review.
Just received this bible today, it's a big one with the full yap but it's a very nice bible.
I stated this in the comments of Wildsmith's review of this Bible; I can't afford a Schuyler so it doesn't matter to me!

I understand. It is a frustrating problem.
Pastor Tim, is that the ESV Heritage TruTone rebound to mimic the Schulyer? That is the bomb!
It is meant to be styled after the PSQ indeed!
My prussian blue stridon has a slightly rounded spine and the raised spine hubs are not as pronounced. I also like it better without the trained yapp.
I wonder if they will do one in blue.
Blue cover or blue accents?

It’s because I didn’t train the yapp. That’s the only way to avoid the issue.
Beautiful bible!
What would you pick this Schuyler esv with apocrypha or the Cambridge diadem with apocrypha?
Because the Schuyler had print issues I’d get the diadem.
@ okay thank you, I’m going with that. Also the hard back diadem on Amazon is only like 35$ right now. Don’t want to pay over 200$ for something that’s not my primary translation.
Another well-oiled machine concise but detailed review. Inspired. In-spirit-action. Here a dot . . .
Is the Siena color more of an orange color?
Sort of.
@@anickelsworthbiblereviews Thank you! What are your thoughts on the NIV & NLT translation? For reading and light studying?

Are you sure you read it correctly?

To bad the Apocrypha is not in the middle like the Cambridge Diadem
I like it in the middle but I don’t mind it at the end either.
Doesnt look like any of the new PSQs will have deuterocanon? 😢
I haven’t looked into them.
Who did the Schuyler look alike rebind?
Reformed and Rebound
Never had an esv
Personally, I'd rather they keep the old layout and give me heavier paper.
I’d definitely like the thicker paper.
I gasped when you said move the footnotes to the bottom, but I quickly forgave you when you said keep them separate like a Stridon.
I’m a pretty fart smeller…wait reverse those first two letters.
@@anickelsworthbiblereviews lol, I can tell by the jokes you really are a pastor. 🤣
It is not a premium bible imho if it has 28 gsm paper.. It is just too thin and delicate. You can replace everything over time except the paper.

Can't stand the small verse numbers. So hard to see when preaching. I can't use my NLT quentel for that reason.
I kind of prefer the older 11pt font…
You aren’t alone for sure.
For that concordance, buy a Tiny Bible and use the magnifying glass it comes with to read it 😂
That brown art gilt hideous. Looks like an old faded paperback from the 70s
