I used to live in a 29 unit building. When someone didn't want something anymore, they used to put it on the basement level, close to the trash door. You want, you take, and if by Monday morning it was still there, then the janitor putted it at the curb.
What happens with the stuff that people put in for their neighbors that does not get taken? Is there a time frame and someone whose job it is to make the stuff disappear when that time is up? I love the idea of that am trying to think of a way to incorporate it into our church community setting without being overwhelmed with stuff...
It’s so pleasing that the recycle room, library and the shared items to neighbors are all very organized - so neat and clean and all within one building! Amazing.
You know, I lost interest in minimalism blogs after a couple years, but yours is the only one I still follow. You have something special to offer. My favourite thing about your decluttering videos is that you are very sensible and actually explain where all items go. I really admire your style and personality!

In my old apartment building we had an little area next to the front door where everybody left the things they didn't need anymore. That was so wonderful. Usually the stuff was gone within an hour :)
Many people don´t realize that being a minimalist isn´t just about having a few items, that is only the end result. It´s more about a mindset--adopting habits of getting rid of things continually and not adding unnecessary items to your life. This means using up things before you buy another (like not having 3 bottles of opened shampoo), thinking hard before adding another kitchen equipment you might use once in a while. In the end, you might have more items than what is considered minimalist, but you are still practicing minimalism. People like us used to be called "obsessive/compulsive" because of the constant de-cluttering and organizing, I´m glad our life philosophy has become popular now.
Minimalism is a constant process as things wear out or break or become unusable...the trick is to stay on top of it so all of that doesn't become clutter! Great Video Benita ...You look wonderful!

I continue to declutter on a weekly basis. Thank you! You are an inspiration. I have been a minimalist for years but have areas that need work. I let go of a large bag of clothing in good clean condition and a bag of shoes that are new but not comfortable.
Realizing something can serve me for years but then no longer serve me has really helped with decluttering. Also I'm no longer serving the item. What good is it doing in my closet? Best to pass it on for a chance at new life.
I have recently reached that very conclusion! I regard it as a significant mileston in my minimalism journey. Just because i loved and wanted something once, doesn't mean i always will.

I watched another video where they used boxes like the one thrown away for using in organizing ties or underwear instead of buying the boxes. Especially if they are sturdy boxes. Just a thought.
Such a good idea..in my apartment building you are not allowed to leave anything in communal areas. I was thinking of putting a box of books by our letter box for giveaway and an old but good hoover..but whenever anyone does, they are quickly dumped. New washing machine next week … this is a perfect reminder to finish de cluttering my hallway … full of things we decluttered from the bedrooms and study. It’s quite a draining process letting go of things . They all have their history - but we don’t have big attics to keep old things , we apartment dwellers:)
Love how it works in your building. And what stuff clutters around you, eh? I do miss the physical buying things as I can't feel/see/ judge how an item is worth buying. Because of COVID, our recycling is stopped, I do hope it will open soon again. Got so much to bring there. Good to see you again, dear.
Very satisfying video! Just yesterday I did my first declutter for 2021. I counted every item of clothing I had (47) and realized that I literally have 9 hooded sweatshirts. What?!! I realized I was keeping them because of the bands they represented which I love. So I cut off the music logos/artwork from the back of the sweatshirts and I am making a nostalgic band blanket :)

I just wish there was a soup bowl that went with it!
@@BenitaLarsson Yes, right? I don't like the deep plate at all so I use the bowl that you show in this video for soup.
Love the recycling idea in your apartment!! 🤗 Glad you’re doing well too. ☺️
I love it too!
I watched another video where they used boxes like the one thrown away for using in organizing ties or underwear instead of buying the boxes. Especially if they are sturdy boxes. Just a thought.
That’s why I kept them for a while but I had no use for them after all.
🇬🇧 Such a great idea with the recycling in your building with the books, unwanted items and normal recycling 👍
Yes, I love that so much!
I'm so pleased to see you I was wondering how you were.keep looking after yourself xx
Thank you so much!
Bonjour Benita, I noticed the yearbook from the école française! Chouette!
Yes, I went there for 12 years!
@@BenitaLarsson quelle chance! 😘
Really good video. Your home is so organized and clean! Love your aesthetic.👍

Benita, I LOVED this video! Excellent job! 👏👏😁
Thank you so much!
I am AMAZED by the shared library and re-useables area of your building. This is such a great idea! Is this common is Stockholm? Thank you, Benita.
I don’t know his common it is but I’ve seen it in quite a few places!

So happy you enjoy my videos! I am, thank you!
I always enjoy your videos so much and this time you even saved me money! I’ve been DYING to get that mop and am so glad I didn’t. Thank you so much!
Oh, I’m so glad you didn’t get it!
I can totally relate to wanting to see that your buying! Buying online is tricky!
So happy to see you! love your content as usual....so happy when I see a new video from you :) ...keep well Benita xxx
Thank you so much for watching!
That’s such a great idea! I made a pillow with my ex husband’s sailing shirt emblems once 😄
Another inspiring video. Thank you Benita!
Thank you so much!
