    This is gold. Though, in our defense, we quit right away because so many people project this image of perfection and/or act like they don't make mistakes. Once I saw that "the adults" were imperfect like me, I dropped my perfectionist streak and started to work and learn from my mistakes. Now I love criticism and do what I can to move forward ...and when I take steps back, I am compassionate to myself and trust that this is just part of the journey ...something that none of the adults let me see them do.

      Yes, brother.
      Just today my older co worker yelled at me about something I was screwing up. It was so tempting to get all bitter and resentful, or lash back or shut down inside. Mostly because I'm not used to it, and because I felt so threatened by the possibility that I wasn't doing everything right. When I know it's a fact, not a possibility. What good is this pretending we're perfect?
      Forgiving myself and forgiving him helped me so much. Almost shedding a tear while doing it felt like it cleaned me spiritually.
      I think that the fact that this sort of emotional health isn't considered manly is a huge advantage women have these days. And please don't make me gag by calling it toxic masculinity. Such a useless term.

They got drafted. If they weren't in the war they supported it. What came of it? The US went from not that powerful to leader of the free world. Sorry but that’s cap in my opinion. I survive on protein shakes and TV dinners and I’m training to get into the military with a perfectly fine mental state lol. Don’t use the excuse that you shouldn’t workout today because you didn’t eat all organic food this morning. Don’t use the excuse that waking up early is “omg unhealthy you need 8 hrs of sleep”. Rest on the weekend bro. Eat organic if you can afford it. Otherwise wake up and just do it. Trust me you will feel so much worse if you keep lying to yourself. This is something I’m still working on, and I’ve learned that I feel better being tired and sore all week knowing I’m freaking killing it, compared to getting enough sleep, doing light workouts, and not giving 100%. Don’t give up boys. The more you push yourself the more you will adapt to the pain. Don’t quit. To anyone reading this: we sleep 1/3 of our lives, we do a job we hate for 1/3 of our lives, and the other 1/3 of freetime we waste doing meaningless stuff. So how about we sleep for 1/4 of our lives, push ourselves to our limits 1/3 of the time, get a job we love to do for the other 1/3 of our lives, and still have a little time left over to clap some cheeks and chill with the bros. Let’s get after it boys don’t quit yet

      @Hamza Mahmood You're right. It's a recent and tragic thing that we count on a woman (women have the same problem, but far less) to do what a whole community did for us in the past. Friends, neighbors, all close as family. Comrades. Now we just have tepid relationships with co workers and acquaintances and expect that one relationship to bear all the fruit we need.
      I think many are afraid that if people can leave us (ie they aren't our immediate family) then they will leave, so we avoid being vulnerable and connecting deeply with them.

    • @PolishBehemoth
      @PolishBehemoth 4 года назад +1

      Just remember with whatever you do with a girl: The goal IS NOT to get a girls attention. The goal is to find someone that makes your life better.
      -
      -As long you keep that in mind and keep telling yourself that, you will know if a girl doesnt respond to your good gestures then she is not worth it. If a girl doesnt call or communicate after you did something nice for her, shes worthless. Theres better fish in the sea. Theres millions of women all over the world that would love to treat you like a king, you just gotta find them. Go out of your comfort zone. Dont be afraid to go outside of your country too.

      Hey man, I'm in the same boat. We are stronger than most already! Depression is hard to get past, but the first step to moving forward is to give yourself credit for everything you do. You're alive and STILL trying, and that's the most important thing. I'm assuming you're not on drugs or an alcoholic, which is 1000× better than 98% of people in general. There's many people who have addiction problems who just got into it because they're weak.

    @ 1:45 - this is true. No one will be there to help you, you have to do it yourself. This is the theme of a truly great book called Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. If you haven't read it yet, you should. It really focuses on mental toughness.

    Great talk. I have always thought like that. Nowadays, it seems It is easier to be great: Put your phone down, take advice, make your bed. So many easy things to do that for some reason aren’t common sense nowadays. Build those calluses!

    I decided to take on ice skating. 2 days in, it felt like I had broken my tailbone (didn't, just very sore from falling), had fallen somewhat bad on my thumb and someone wrecked my coat while I was on the ice. I felt pretty discouraged that day, but went back 2 days later, then the day after. Can't say I'm good at it, but I enjoy it and it feels better than sitting on my ass, crying because I'm not anything near the level for the Olympics lol! A room is not cleaner because you put the dust all under the carpet.

    There was quote from Ninja philosophy which have the same vision
    "To accomplish mission you need to overcome emotions, egos, physical and mental tiredness and weakness. Overcome Your Personality to Accomplish Your Purpose. Prioritize Mission in first place and dig down deep your ego. Learn to be patient and cold, heartless and violent to Yourself, that's the only way to achieve any purpose which human beings could reach"

    Toughness is acquired in action
    *Breaking - Rebuilding - Breaking*
    The circle of life. Unfortunately there are too many distractions to be able to focus on one thing at a time

    • @McDoodle44
      @McDoodle44 5 лет назад +6

      Blaming it on the distractions is the same game as blaming our parents, society, companies and what not. It's again the tricky game our ego (mind) plays in order to justify our compulsive behavior. Its genius... if it only wouldn't have that negative long term consequences...

    I try to rearrange my to do list when it gets hard and I fail so it’s easier to do and I still get everything done but this is saying to just stick with it. It’s literally the hardest thing to get yourself out of that situation where your mind does not want to do it, I’ve been in that position many times and failed many times. It’s like a battle between my lazy side and my strong side all of the time. But my strong side does not want to give up trying this time.

    This guy nearly saved my life. I felt that I was not needed in my family and friends, that I didn’t know anything and I wasn’t valuable. But now I don’t care I try to live my best life as possible and try to do some positive things for other people as well. I almost drowned but I grabbed the rope. For everyone feeling the same don’t let others peoples opinions become your reality. Do what you love to do even if other people don’t agree with it

    I've had two total hip replacements; two rotator cuff surgeries; a new total knee replacement; two high risk diagnoses in two years nearly drowned in a riptide last year; I'm tired and weakened physically but make no mistake about it, I am not quitting and I will never give up. As an Army veteran, I will leave no one behind. The walk is tough, but every day I put one foot in front of the other, stumble, but I forge on.
