I love Hada Labo UV White gel. 👍🏻 It took me a few days to get used to it. I also utilize it on the tops of my hand and chest area. Super cooling! I wear it mainly on days that I am not wearing makeup because it kind of makes your makeup pill. I also have the Hada Labo perfect gel right now, it’s the one in the gold tub but it isn’t sun screen. I got into Asian skincare in the Summer of 2019 and I have been very pleased since then. No regrets! The Japanese know there stuff! 👍🏻
Thank you! I love the Hada Labo UV White Gel, and so does my husband. I decant it into an empty sunscreen pump bottle from a different sunscreen. Works like a charm.
Great video Dr. Sugai! I'm glad Biore has a newer version that sounds more tolerable than the previous one. I can't wait to try it. I totally agree with you about the Hada Labo should be in a tube and not in a jar. It's inconvenient and not practical. Keep these videos coming. They're super helpful and we appreciate it. Thank you so much.
The I'm From Mugwort Cream is my holy grail moisturiser 💚 I really want to try the COSRX Snail Mucin Moisturiser, but I read somewhere that people with dust allergies (which I have) can also have an adverse reaction to using snail mucin. I really hope you can discuss if this is a myth or not, Dr. Sugai! Until then, I'm hesitant to try it, unless I can get my hands on a sample. I tried the Biore Light Up Essence when it was released, and I love how it effectively keeps the skin quite matte during the day, but I personally dislike its colour correcting properties, because it looks quite unnatural unless you have a very specific skin colour, in my opinion. Dr. Dray raves about the Hada Labo sunscreen! I can't wait to try it out next, but I'm equally glad that I tried the Skin Aqua UV Super Moisture Gel before this one, because it's become my holy grail sunscreen 💙
I’ve just ordered Roundlab’s Mugwort Calming Cream, perhaps when you do your I’m From..Mugwort, a comparison? These Mugwort products are often sold out both brands, it would appear Mugwort is becoming a trending active.
I love the I'm From Mugwort cream, if not for the fact that the drugstores selling the cream always ends up selling jars which have expiry dates barely less than 6 months away from the day of purchase! They don't even have a 50 percent off clearance at all there!
Oh my gosh, I resonate you a lot for being asked if I am a rugby player when I visit Japan. I literally get asked that question for every single new meet and kinda gets me sick at this point already….
Great video! Could you review the Skin Aqua UV Super Moisture Milk (Japanese sunscreen) and the Aveeno Calm and Restore Oat Gel Moisturizer? Thank you!
Yes, the Skin Aqua small blue bottle 40ml has great reviews, supposed to be fragrance free, alcohol free, and also water resistance, so I am curious ...
😃😃...great review Dr.Sugai....one of my favorite sunscreens Hada Labo!!!.. that cosrx mucin moisturizer is also a long favorite !! Another one to consider is the BIORE UV Athlizm essence 50+...at least sweat resistant but it has fragrance... no white cast, great filters!!
Dr. Sugai, thank you for your reviews and your videos! Awesome! I live in Japan and use both these products as my sunscreen and I'm not Asian. I have bronze colored skin, but there is no white film left on my skin after application. I use the Biore on the road, and the Hado Labo everyday before leaving the house, just as you mentioned. On a side note, you mentioned that you are bigger than most of the Japanese, and they think you are a rugby player when you visit. I'm wondering if it is the food you are eating in America, vs. the Japanese diet that is the major difference of your body structure and height? You also mentioned that both your parents are Japanese, so I'm wondering are they on the bigger side too? The reason I'm asking is because, as you may know, the average 30 something Japanese male sometimes can be a bit taller, but rare is a muscular build male, unless he is working out at the gym. It's an interesting phenomenon, don't you think? Thanks, Dr. Sugai!
Thank you, Dr. Sugai for this video. I have been very curious about K and J beauty skincare products. I really look forward to yr future videos regarding them.
Hi Doc 😊 Thanks for this great video! I have been using the hada labo uv gel for many years. It's a brilliant primer for foundation but you need to wait at least 20 minutes before using foundation or other makeup (for the ladies). I recently bought Avene 50+ mineral cream and loving it. Can't wait for the reviews of your stash. The snail cream...hmm...I'll pass for now 🤣
I love the HadaLabo UV, I've been using it as a UV moisturizer for 3 years now, everytime it's over I buy a new one. Love that it doesn't have any smell or color. Usually I don't apply that much because it's quite dewy and not a good mix with makeup, I apply it under my main sunscreen, Skin Aqua or Allie, that are more on the matte side, then, makeup.
I just find out your video. I’m so glad to understand more about skincare. Thank you so much. I will watch all your video 🙏🏻 I like your pronunciation so much, so easy to listen 😁 I’m from Cambodian 🇰🇭
Great videos, I am learning a lot. Please continue to keep the balance toward the educational part of the education/product scale. Guessing you bought that shirt when your kids were babies and even sleep deprived you’d still know who you are.
Thanks Dr. Sugai, I've really been enjoying your content. I've been on this K & J beauty train for the last couple of years - so many amazing products to try that don't necessarily cost the earth either! The Hada Labo UV white gel has been on my radar for a long while but I've not yet purchased. My skin is oily yet dehydration prone and sensitive to really high concentrations of alcohol or heavy fragrance (I suspect type 1 rosacea). Did you find this gel to give a tight feeling after using it multiple days in a row? I have also found in the past with other sunscreens that contain titanium that they can give a greasy, shiny finish (I don't mind a healthy glow but not greasy). I also wondered if this sunscreen actually sets to a finish that doesn't easily transfer off, or can it be tacky?
I feel that the biore UV aqua rich light up essence isn’t formulated well. It has this strong silver metallic cast on my skin (assume hence the “light up” effect?). But the main issue I have with this is that it “skips” when i applied generously like some will adhere on my skin and some will not (so strange!). So I’ll need to take sometime to rub in and spread the sunscreen evenly. On other hand, Hada Labo UV is like perfection lol- although I wish it comes in a more hygienic packaging haha 😆
You and Go See Christy with the natto, lol. I don't think I could get past the consistency of that cream. Beauty of Joseon seems to be a line that people are interested in. Maybe you could look at some of their products?
I love your videos and COMPLETELY trust your recommendations and what u don't recommend I use!!! I hope u see my question🙏I've always heard that its not good to use Vitamin C&Retinol together and today I seen the Loreal Revitalift Triple Power and it has C,Retinol along with hyaluronic acid.I was wondering if you recommend not to use it??
Hi Jennifer! Thank you so much for your trust- means a lot. Usually vit c and retinoids need to be used cautiously as they can cause irritation together esp in those with sensitive skin. That being said, it is okay to mix if your skin can tolerate it (my skin can take it). When it’s formulated together like L’Oréal (I haven’t tried this one), it makes me think they put in the time to carefully mix the ingredients together harmoniously and less chances of irritation. Will have to try that product out! See you for the next video!
@@danielsugaimd Thank u soo much! I will probably wait for your review of it before I decide to purchase it! I really trust your reviews!Wish u lived in Louisiana !
Hi Dr. Sugai, I'm new to your channel. I found myself binge watching your channel. Can you do a review on the AprilSkin 20% Vitamin A.C.E brightening serum? Thank you in advance!
Hi Dr Sugar, Could you do a pk (compare) the Cosrx advanced snail 92 all in one cream and Neutrogena Hydro boost water gel? (or maybe also add the e.l.f. holy hydration face cream.) Thank you
Dr Sugai, I love Biore sunscreen, however another prominent derm on you tube says to avoid octinoxate. Says it is a hormone disrupter and bad for coral reef. What do you think of that ingredient?
I have a question about when to apply retinol when using Snail Mucin Power essence. CosRx recommends the essence goes on first right after toner before any serum . When should you apply retinol then? Thank you.
Doc , could u review sunscreen in a spray form? I find it almost impossible to reapply sunscreen over makeup. And I’ve been wanting to find one in spray form. Thanks!
Your half of the face with the Biore light up essence definitely has a white cast compared to the other half, when you watch the video :) I guess that was from the titanium dioxide component, can't get away from that :)

Hi Dr. Sugai, do you have any thoughts on SkinMedica TNS Essential Serum and/or SkinMedica's TNS Advanced+ Serum and is it worth to include in a daily regimen?
I'd love to see a video of your recommendations for chemical and mineral body sunscreens. I'm looking to get a new one and would live a recommendation.
How does the Biore UV Aqua compare to Dear, Klaris soft airy UV essence ? I loved that one but stopped using it after they found the Spf rating wasn’t as high as initially marketed.
I loved the Hada Labo sunscreen but my problem with it was that I couldn't layer it with any other product or makeup because it pilled. Super disappointing because I loved how it felt in my skin. I even tried layering it with only other hada labo products but it still pilled
