+Mohammed Zulfiqar More like poor man's Elliot Hulse. :)
I hate and love this guy at the same time...
+JOISPOI24 why hate tho
Same I know what you mean, if he was in my class I wouldn't be his friend but I wouldn't be his enemy
Whoa, Fortress just went super saiyan on us!!!
he's shirtless? i was too busy looking at that vegeta hair
Fuck me youve gone super saiyan.
Best life lesson i ever hear
agree 100%
Fortress for life. Go glad he is back so i can finally learn and follow the legend. I first of the name in a Chris Heria video comment section from like 2-3 years ago but never knew who Fortress was. I am so proud to subscribe to this man -he does it right, so humble. God bless.
Super Saiyan Fortress
Great video man with some really important points, thanks for sharing. I wish more people focussed on health instead of appearance and realised that focussing on appearance will stop you from making progress.
@Fortress wow man, I've seen countless and countless and countless amounts of videos regarding strength and all that, but out of all of them, this makes the most sense. it ties into the Word of God in a beautiful way. to not pursue size or muscle, but to pursue what gives you vitality in general and let all else follow. just like we seek first the kingdom and let everything else follow. Thank you so much for this video man... I have a totally different perspective on how I'm going to train and pursue health. God bless you brother!
This is why i love fortress, one of the best and smartest.
Respect man. I definitely understand what you're saying. I do calisthenics as well and I love it but it's really easy to get caught up on what you wish your physique to look like.
I can be having a bad day or lose my fitness motivation some days but watching his videos always makes me come back to my goals. Love this dude.
FANTASTIC POINTS MADE. There really has been a craze in recent years and there's even a condition now called "bigorexia" where people feel like they're still not big enough and are obsessed with getting bigger. I myself have gone through the paces of bodybuilding, being a gym rat etc. until I realized that I would never really need muscles the size of my head on my daily life! Functional exercises and building strength that way is way more useful and I wish I had the mindset you had Fortress when I first started working out. You will NEVER be "big enough"; there will always be someone bigger 92nd that is your goal, trust me. Focusing on health and fitness is the way to go. Thanks for addressing the craze in this video man.
One thing though: 30s seems "old" to you now but in a few years you'll see differently lol. lots of 30 and 40 plus year olds out there in great shape😉
This is one of the best vids I've seen in a while, from any channel. Fortress rocks.
Thank You bro....you made me feel better...I'm glad that I found someone like you here on RUclips
Paul, this is your best video !
Thank you for the write words , write living philosophy and inspiration that you are sharing with us ! Thanks !
Ooo. Spotted that Ido Portal quote in there. I absolutely LOVE this video, I was just discussing this today that so many guys around me are obsessed with their looks and not their ability to do everyday things. Can you run short and long distance, can you lift something heavy, can you lift yourself, can you jump, can you fight, climb, balance, participate in any sport just for fun. This should be the whole point of fitness and I stand by your beliefs, incredible video as always Paul.
While I disagree with you latest vid against video games I love this video. I started focusing this year on just getting the gym and doing my best. Yes I get upset sometimes if I miss a rep but I am a lot happier not working towards or trying to rush towards a goal. If I can lift more I do, but if I stay at the same weight for weeks I don't care. The best gift I gave myself this year is the new mindset to just enjoy life. Goals are important, but not if they make the present unbearable. Love each step and get to the goal when I get there. Nice video and video games rule :)
I really love your videos, i always get bored listening to others but I've never being bored listening to you dude.
bro, thanks for your words!, this is so true, health is the most important. please continue make videos! God bless you!
Fortress > Mike Chang. the truth.
+MD9 I'm just speaking the truth.
Fortress:
*Nice guy, Personality > Physic. Long Term Relationships
*Health > Aesthetics
*Believes you can be healthy without wastings tons of money
*Backs up his beliefs even if he knows that can comes with a cost. (haters, etc)
*Super Saiyan
Mike Chang:
*"Body will get you girls" mentality. Short Term Relationships
*Scams
*Sells you cheap chinese supplements with questionable reputation
*"Whatever the world says and think is good, just give me your money"
*Yamcha's ki level.
I actually found this channel through the bicep and chest video because I was looking for variety. I agree with the points being made. I love the health aspects but I certainly enjoy looking good as a result.
This made me realize so many things... thank you so much!
You look like a super saiyan! Going to charge up? Looking good !
Great video man, thanks for the new perspective!
This is just what i needed to hear. God bless.
The best advice I've read, I thank God for finding it, I speak and I read Spanish, however I read the translated subtitles thinking I would give a tip to get more muscle and give me against the wall with this advice , Very wise and true, may God bless you brother!
Promote healthy living and not appearance!
Dude I want to get a one arm pull up by summer! Love your videos
"Muscle does not equal health." Thank you! More people need to realize this!
+Nexus of Life Big muscles from steroid abuse does not equal health. Muscles attained naturally is always healthy so long as you stay lean
readysetfire Well said.
I mean, muscles only show when you have low fat and if you have low fat and big muscles it means that you eat well
i usually don't subscribe to any channel but after following to guess what I had to..you are awesome dude ..I really admire your work..Love from India..Body , mind, soul ,spirit
I like what you said at 2:23, you work out for strength and the ability to control your body weight easily because you need that in everyday situations. That is what I workout for: personal strength, health, the ability to help people when needed. I guess the only thing that will worry me is being balanced and working my back out.
This is one of your best videos. thank you so much
LOVE YOU PAUL. GREAT VIDEO THAT HITS THE TRUTH! DOESN'T MATTER WHAT OTHER PEOPLE SAY, YOU ARE RIGHT PAUL. ONCE AGAIN, THANKS FOR THE VIDEO!
This was something that I needed to hear, great video.
Great message Paul....
I love your saiyan hair
For me I do Calisthenics, at least I try haha, but what motivates me are the challenges of doing difficult movements and keep my body health, because you know I think having core muscles is very important for my back future :D
Congratulations for your kid, G-d Bless!
Love your haircut and the body you've developed does look amazing, but your positive and inspiring messages about health surpass both! Congratulations on the baby - i am sure you'll be a wonderful dad! God bless!
Here's an idea, btw love your content been watching for years!
How about doing voice over videos every time you workout record it and then do a voice over.
Or upload your entire 30min-1hr long workouts.
The long workout videos are my favorite, I feel like I'm there with you working out.
God bless you and your family Paul.
You have big muscles, but your mind is bigger. You are a huge person dude, fantastic video!
Great point, thanks for sharing these ideas and the haircut looks fresh, you look fresh and inspired. Good luck!
This is exactly what ive been trying to tell other people. The term fitness is used so wrong nowadays. I try to focus on strength, bodycontrol and muscular endurence. A sport is not there be for a good body. Thats only a nice side effect. I also hate ego lifting. And since i saw your first video i noticed you were never and will never be that type of person. Thanks Paul!
So much respect, I recently went through a similar realization. It's the sad reality though that people want those abs or that booty without focusing on the health aspect. Btw health is not mostly your cardiovascular system, it's a combination of factors including mental and social health (and they affect your longevity greatly)
Thank you. You are a genuine and true human being.
Oh sh*t good luck on the little fortress man!
fantastic message..
Just a request.. you may not have anything else to share with your followers about body fitness.. but i believe you have the superb ability to inspire others in different aspects of life.. for example, I loved your video that you did on new year resolution last year.. and how important it is to have a vision in life to not get bored ever.. So, please do more of these kind of inspirational videos. Thanks and love.
I miss this guy, total inspiration man, Cheers!
This was truly inspiring. thanks dude.
good thougts and opinions...people should work on overall health (ie mind and body) rather than on just muscles.. eventually its gona fade away when we get old..good video
Your one In a million. I mean that in a good way
Clen O'gallagher I’ve never heard that be used in a bad way
thanks bro, you just made me realize more knowledge about life.
Great speech, Paul! I agree totally.
This helped me hit a new bench pr. thanks bro
hi fortress your vídeos have helped me a lot, nit just body building, when i train i feel more energery and i feel overallbetter, sry for my bad english salutes from colombia keep the good worth
well put brother! 👍✊😁 to many are motivated by their ego 😢 It's like judging the condition of a car 🚗 by only looking at the exterior. I work out for strength 💪 and endurance ✊
Fully agree! Thanks for the video.
Awsome vid
i've been thinking he got smaller cuz he trains less but this explained everything about it
fantastic video, great mindset
One of your best videos I like the message!
Hello bro! You are really right but! Actually i want to become biger and i working over that! Whithout pharmacology! And right now i got some modest results and right now i can push up 100kg 2 times that is great for me! And i think that every one have to find out their way to the sport and clean mind! Thx for your motivation
Great message!
I like your view and very much agree with it. I like the idea of getting stronger rather than how I look. I love the idea of defying gravity, of understanding my body and learning how to control it.
If you're ever doing a lecture video could you talk about neuromuscular facilitation. I'm very interested in it.
I kind of think in a different way, when we have the purpose to train, it's easier to achieve our goals. Everyone has their own priorities, and training for muscle mass isn't wrong because it's what we train for.
Anyways, great video, I've been a fan of Fortress for 3 years now.
Best wishes to you and your family. :)
Watching your videos is what started me into fitness. I remember walking down to my park and doing as much as I could. You had the perfect body imo...Now I see your video 4 years later and Im bigger than you lol Either way, you inspired me back in the day and what you say here is true for sure...still wish you did fitness vids though. Your relaxed style is awesome.
Great points.
That was real, thanks for sharing such a powerful message
That's some very wise advice. You are a real nice guy👌
Great speach !
Okay, I have a question. While I agree with what you're saying in principle, but I've always been told that as you age you should try to build muscle in order to counter act the natural loss of muscle as you get older. Are just normal workouts enough to combat this or should targeting muscles be a thing as we age?
What do you think about the fact that I workout because I think it's fun? That I enjoy it. I really love calisthenics, and I workout to be able to help get better with that. Like doing exercises to help maintain a front lever, or to be able to do multiple slow muscle ups. I'm not really doing it for the health aspect - nor the muscle. I do, however, enjoy that I am getting my body to look how I want. I'm not looking to get bigger, I'm hoping to get my body more toned and defined. Is that bad?
It's as I heard once or twice and my own mentor agrees, "Athletics over aesthetics should always be the focus as the latter usually follows the former anyway."
I share completely your thought. You are an honorable person for your philosophy of life.
You made this video for the people who will I get it and appreciate it
Great vid Paul! So how do you build a big chest, arms and shoulders....................
Fucking excellent video. This is the advice every coach/trainer should be giving to everyone.
Thank you for this great video.
hey thanks for the video man!
Do you have an email list or some kind of training program I can subscribe to? I'd love see what kind of regimented program you yourself would suggest in reference to strength training
A lot of great ideas, but I believe you're assuming only negative reasons for building muscle. I started working out to help me relieve stress and to relax, but now it has sort of become a hobby to have fun, relax, and build muscle at the same time. Those videos that you mentioned have the most views helped me out, but I 100 % agree about everything else (steroids, supplement companies, working out for bad reasons, etc.).
I started for appearance and was out of shape, it was my first motivator. Then I got kinda bored.. It just became part of my routine. I kept persisting anyway. I came to enjoy the process, nutrition, the science, the learning about my body. So since then, I train for strength performance and my health, suddently I just look great anyway. More importantly though, I feel great and have a functionable body.
Thumbs up! Before i worked out in gym just so i can be big, attract girls and have strenght to kick someone's ass.And i got punished with hernia. This time im trying just bodyweight exercises for health, doing other exercises, nofap, and healthy food and lifestyle and thanks to God i feal great.God bless you man
Your next video should be, "How to get big crazy hair!"
This is the most enlightened workout channel on RUclips
I FUCKIN KNEW IT! Halfway I knew he had done his hair to attract viewers haha. Awesome video bro.
+ Fjerid mois se q'ils matire sur luis sais ses gros biceps
I do workout, 5times per week, but my priorities right now are right technique and getting rid of junk food and sugar. Id love to find video about this one :D
I watch those videos because I want exercises for that specific muscle group so I can implement them into my workout :)
before i even looked at the comments i thought "Man this guy looks like a Dark Souls boss," then he takes of the Jacket "Yep deff a final boss"
Big up, great video with an important message
I really like what you said, that inspire me a lot
Initialy i used to look up stuff for looks, but since i began working a couple years ago and have gotten a bit older iv more focused on what offers the best physical feeling and energy levels. Specially after reading a book called 'exhausted to energized' by Dr libby.
In saying that any recommendations (or videos) on how to perform exercises properly or how to properly recover from exercises, or when to work out in relation to muscle pain would be appreciated (from anybody)
impresionante video muchas gracias
I agree with the fact health supersedes physical appearance
Man Thanks! You don't know how similar we are. You just have more guts to say all this! Man you think deep. DEEP. :-) I like you man! God Bless You!
Very good advice for the young people.
Bro, what you say is very true and I like your hair style
we need this fortress back
Good message
