My favorite view of rebirth is actually Newton’s law which states that energy cannot create or destroy itself only be transformed. This is through the observation of nature as well, so i agree with rebirth. This is why we cannot be separated from nature because we are part of it.

Thank you for your talk(s). Much appreciated.
I had a bit of a mental hiccup with the idea that we should accept something the Buddha said, merely because he said it. It's always been my understanding that the Buddha himself said we shouldn't take his words as truth just because he spoke them, but that we should just take his words and practices in, try them for ourselves, and then decide based upon our results whether he was correct or not.

Wonderful talk Ajahn! The investigation of Dhamma and the teacher in the Kalama sutta and Ehipasiko got me highly curious and built my faith and confidence to enter the path. Allthough the Buddha was a human being like us, he was described as the teacher of the gods and humans - devamanussapujitam in suttas.

You can be a Buddhist in this life right now no matter what religion you are at the same time. Keeping the 5 precepts and following the noble eightfold path is compatible with all the major religions. In fact if you do this diligently, others in your religion will think you are a saint or a sage.

If there is nothing, then there is nothing to fear. You will no longer exist and will have no more problems. If there is rebirth, then death is merely a doorway to another existence, another adventure, another chance to do good, refrain from evil and purify the mind.

These metaphysical questions are unimportant to the Buddhist practice. The four noble 'truths' in Buddhism are grounded in the world we live in now. 1. Life contains suffering 2. Suffering is caused by our cravings, desires, attachments etc. 3. There is an antidote to suffering 4. The solution is to follow the eight-fold path.
If you fear death and seek peace, do some research and meditate. The Buddha taught but one method and if the path is not for you that's okay. You might find peace in another practice but don't give up in your search.

If there is a world after death, if there is the fruit of actions rightly & wrongly done, then this is the basis by which, with the break-up of the body, after death, I will reappear in a good destination, the heavenly world.' This is the first assurance he acquires.
"'But if there is no world after death, if there is no fruit of actions rightly & wrongly done, then here in the present life I look after myself with ease - free from hostility, free from ill will, free from trouble.' This is the second assurance he acquires.
"'If evil is done through acting, still I have willed no evil for anyone. Having done no evil action, from where will suffering touch me?' This is the third assurance he acquires.
"'But if no evil is done through acting, then I can assume myself pure in both respects.' This is the fourth assurance he acquires.
"One who is a disciple of the noble ones - his mind thus free from hostility, free from ill will, undefiled, & pure - acquires these four assurances in the here-&-now."

    What Makes Buddhism Unique?
5:20 - The Dhamma is universal, not specific to any one time or place
11:50 - There is no one single saviour - there is not one Buddha but a sequence of Buddhas
    14:39 - Buddhism is not super-natural, it's naturalistic
18:59 - It does not try to explain the origin of the universe
29:14 - The being we look up to, Buddha, was a human being
36:42 - Buddha just points the way, we have to do the work for ourselves
39:13 - Doubting the teachings is okay!
42:52 - Non-self: The Most Beautiful Thing You Could Ever Discover
