Just to give some context on this collab:
Jcole has been one of Jhope’s musical inspirations since his early days as a rapper and a musician. Jhope mentioned this on several songs since 2014, and how much he looks up to Jcole. So this collab was like a full circle for him, and it meant a lot for him to release it.
Hope this helps :) I loved your reaction and for keeping an open mind

It all makes sense now, thank you for that, I did not know that at all, I didn’t even catch the similarities of their names, that’s cool.

J Cole is one of J Hope's idols. His first mix tape he named Hope World and he's mentioned his influence in several of his songs . J Hope just announced he's getting ready to serve his mandatory two year military service so this was his gift to the fans, the 'us' he refers to in his lyrics. 💜

I love J Cole. I don’t know Korean but from what I read, I can see how J-Hope is inspired by him. (J-Hope and his bandmate RM are some of the best lyricist in South Korea). I have to really study the various translations which can be tough given that half the time I am reading explanations about the Korean language use and cultural context to grasp the significance of the word plays.
(One Korean speaker had to consult a literature professor to translate the nuances properly into English)
To then imagine how that must have felt like hitting you for the first time like J Cole's English did for those who do not understand only English but the American cultural context. (For example I was lost on the Golden Corral reference. I had to google that.
    Thanks for this reaction.
EDIT: Lots of typos made my comment almost nonsensical ...! Sorry about that I was half asleep. Corrected.

Jhope is a member of BTS. He was a street dancer before joined BTS.
In Hip Pop Phile by BTS during Jhope's verse he said, "Hope hope world, before I built my own world, there was Cole world | When he lit up Friday night, |I became more inspired to write my own music". I am so glad that he was able to collab with one of his role models or someone that has inspired him.
This is song is so beautiful. This is his gift to ARMY (fan base) before he has to leave for mandatory military service.
Many people think the song kind of felt more like a JCole song, which I understand, but Jhope said before this was announced that he was "going back to the streets". So, I think that was the point. He is dancing more because that is what he did in the streets before BTS while listening to people like JCole. At least that is my interpretation.
I interpret the boy two different ways. 1. being ARMY (the fan base) 2. Being himself in the past
I HIGHLY recommend his album Jack In The Box if you haven’t heard it. (More and Arson are the songs with music videos).

First of all, I'm so happy for J-Hope to be able to work with his musical inspiration. J-Cole is his muse and the reason he is a rapper today. He got to know J-Cole's music when he was a young kid dancing. J-Hope has a mixtape called Hope World, and his album Jack In The Box is a masterpeice. He poured his heart and soul into it. The story with J-Cole is that J-Hope headlined Lollapalooza July 31, 2022, and he had the opportunity to meet J-Cole. I believe this collaboration developed organically out of a deep admiration and respect on J-Hope's part, and it looks like on J-Cole's part as well.
HOBI (J-Hope nickname) talked about his collaboration with J-Cole in a live stream with ARMY's, and he was writing this song in October 2022, when he knew he would be enlisting for Mandatory Military Service in 2023. This song is specifically for ARMY's (BTS fans), as a goodbye for now, and I'm always with you,. HOBI not only worked with J-Cole, but also developed a friendship. He said they talk/text often, and he talked about the language barrier and how accepting J-Cole was of him. I'm hoping for another collaboration in the future, maybe in 2025 when BTS comes back together as a group. I love seeing him make connections and develop meaningful friendships with other artists. J-Cole seems like a good guy, and very talented.
I have a fun fact for you. Did you know that BTS did a remake of Born Sinner in 2013, the year they debuted as a Hip Hop Idol group in South Korea? The song is called Born Singer, and it's a classic in the ARMY fandom. It was released unofficially for ARMY's, and streamed on Sound Cloud, and they performed it in concert, but it was never officially released until 2022. They released their Anthology album and J-Cole gave them permission to release it officially. Maybe you could do a reaction to it. I will link two performances, one in 2015 at a concert, and June 2022 for their yearly anniversary celebration or FESTA. I would love to see reactions to these. They are so good. Also, the 2022 Proof performance has a special guest on drums in Yet To Come. You might enjoy that, and they have a short discussion after that performance for their ARMY's. 💜
