This episode is all about community! We take a look at a pair of beautiful and very limited special release decks by one of my favorite designers, plus we announce the winners of the composition deck and the special signed blue parlour prototype deck giveaways.
The United Cardists 2018 commemorative deck release, the De Novo decks by Designer Rick Davidson. Part of a series of decks produced yearly by Mike Radtlige owner of the United Cartdists forum, some previous entries in the series include the Nouveau decks by designer Karin Yan, the Avant-Garde decks from the Edgy Brothers, and Lotrek’s Grotesque which was the 2014 offering.
Like all previous United Cardists commemorative decks in years prior the production of these cards was made possible through successful crowdfunding sourced through kickstarter. This 2018 edition raised NZ$ 39,056 which, using conversion rates as of the making of this video, convert to about $25k usd.
The decks came in four different variant editions. A green viridi standard edition, a crimson and gold aurum standard edition and two deluxe limited special signature editions of both-

UC crew here!!
"A futuristic slant to the pips" ... Thanks TGW, always learning about new ways to describe the intricacy of decks on your channel, it's extremely awe-inspiring!
#Decknowledgy
Rick Davidson absolutely stands out as one of the best playing card designers working today. This deck is a fantastic addition to his work, and this video review is a fantastic addition to yours, TGW. What I like most about this is your enthusiasm as you dive deep into the details that make this deck stand out. Keep up the amazing work, my friend!
Damn. Those cards are gorgeous. I absolutely love the design! The inside of the green box is just breathtaking!
That was such a great video. I had no idea of the stories behind the courts; thank you for enlightening me.
I found you because I was really hasitating to buy some decks so your reviews actually impacted my purchase dicision ! You haven't let me down yet though! thanks for the awesome content! Keep it going
Like always great detail, content, and quality. Definitely my go-to channel for reviews
This has got to be the coolest courts I have ever seen
Great review of some incredible decks. Fantastic shoutout to UC, Omar! I found UC through your channel, actually, and I have loved the discussions and critiques over there ever since. I would suggest new viewers check out your Top 10 Tuck cases video as they can get exposed to some incredible artwork in a short video. I would also recommend your Ravn video as it is a great look into your comedic side as well as yet another example of your production prowess. I look forward to more from you! Cheers
I Would Recommend The Alex Pandrea Meet Up Video. It Was A Great Watch. Also I Stumbled Across This Video Because I'm Subscribed To Your Channel And I Enjoy The Deck Reviews. The Quality And Editing Skills You Have Are Brilliant!
These are great, I'm receving a pair soon! I especially love those Jokers, amazing Art Deco feel to them.
Great review.
Those cards man...wow. Amazing details.
I would definitely recommend the Sherlock Holmes deck review and not just for your stunningly accurate portrayal of the man himself or your totally authentic British accent and not even for your thoroughly in depth knowledge of our most iconic landmarks such as the Big Ben tower but because of the first class humour and your obvious passion for cinematography and card collecting that shines through in this and every other video on your channel 🙂.
P.s the opening part of this is something TGW will understand and is connected to my replies on the original video 😉
I'm doing my first deck review on my channel because of you!
So cool!
I would recommend the video you did for the Bicycle Wind Up deck, which was the first video of yours that I ever watched! The one on the Citizens deck is also great!
Love it 😍😍😍
ordered both decks just now, based in the UK, Can't wait
Awesome deck of cards love them very different 😍👍
Thats denovo playing cards have simple design but full of arts ,stunning for me
Loved the court cards.
Another great video.
I’d recommend the Jaspas Favourite Day deck simply because that’s how I found you. However, I also recommend any of the “dress up” videos or the ones with Lady Wake. I think it was the Sub Rosa deck review that I watched and thought she gave off a Marissa Tomei in My Cousin Vinny vibe.
Great review 👍🏻that deck is beautiful, seen it on ig a bunch of times, glad you reviewed it 😁 i would recomend the your gambler video where you do Kenny Rogers 😂😂😂, one of my favs, or of course any of the parlour videos. That ace of spades is good, but it's no Stockholm 17 Parlour ace👍🏻👍🏻
My favorite TGW video is by far the review of the "Equinox Deck Review from Kings Wild Project" I really hope to see a Kings wild short subscription "year in review" video in December!
You deserve WAY more subs!
Wow, that's a hard choice to make I'm torn between the "Sherlock Holmes Collection" review and "The Coffee Ring HouseBlend" review .... the truth is that it doesn't matter all a newbie has to do is pick one and they are going to enjoy it for the great detail of info, the fun approach to the video and the chemistry ... as always thanks for sharing
The ellusionist deck review! Didn't know something like that existed until I watched your video😅
Thanks for the nice reviews! BTW first :)
For those new to TGW channel I would encourage you to first few his 10 Best Decks of 2018. Another good one is his review of the Kings Wild Sherlock Holmes series. Lots of other good ones like his first video with PigCake or some of Lady Wake's reviews.
I would suggest the video u did on 52kards. I love that guy and all his content. Prob cuz im a hobbyist like him. Plus the mint series is awesome
The first one that comes to mind is the Best Halloween Decks of 2018. Then probably the Sherlock Holmes Decks.
My favourite so far is definitely the Sherlock Homes series review!
I agree, and i really liked the small riddle aswell!
I'd reccomend your Lone Star Deck review. Great video.
I would definitely recommend this one
The face cards are very different n looks amazing!
I would recommend the video with Shin Lim’s White Regalia deck, it’s sooo good

I would recommend the zine deck review from a couple weeks ago

I would recommend the Chris Ramsay deck review
I would suggest watching the Dead Man’s Deck review.
I would say jaspas deck favorite day edition
I will never not take the chance to tell people about the Citizens deck.
Go watch!

The video featuring standards by dan and dave
I was looking for a copag 310 review about a year ago and found this quality channel. Go watch Copag 310 ft. Pigcake. 2 great youtubers for the price of 1 👌
I'd recommend the latest video, just so you can enter the giveaway

Love the box, not a big fan of the back design.
Check out the theory 11 deck reviews, this is where I discovered T11 decks 💯❤️♠️
Must watch his Jerry’s nuggets
The Golden tower stands tall with might. Filled with riches and technologies delights. Rules that stand to keep the straight and narrow. Animals mounted, shot with a golden arrow.
Burn it down! Shouts from tree line near and into view a small army appears. One speaks up "we owe it to the animals as well as the land!" Another voice voice shouts "We do this for the rule of man!" A smaller sound whispers "I see in their hearts but without a physical eye."
Lastly one roars, “They will be just like us, or they will DIE"!
They rush to the tower with anger and hate and see that the gold ones are doing the same. With spears pointed forward and sowrds towards the sun ready to shed blood of the opposing ones, Crash! Thud!
No swords pierced a body, no spears did run through. A wall perhaps.... No, A mirror standing tall and true. From Earth to the heavens it's stands in the way till one little child steps forward to say " I see you, I see me, we are one and the same! Both loving and selfish. Both greedy and giving. Both future and past. But equally guilty from biggest to smallest to first and the last.
The tower is burning, the trees as well. Through the night into the day, continuing on for nothing could stay. Too many years to count if you even could, voice in the distance where the tower once stood..."Come quick come quick and see what I see! A tower of gold, a line of trees! A home! A true home for you and me! We will make it better then anyone ever dreamed!
Sorry, got inspired by the duality and the beginning anew concepts you spoke of about the deck. Now I don't have a choice. Ive got to get them. Lol!
I really like theae decks! The one thing I think is a missed opportunity however is that on the "standard" boxes, I wish it would have been a side open and then the edges of the leaves/floral and the top "crown" of the seal would be as they are like a cut out extending into the opening. That would have really taken these already cool tuck boxes to the next level!
I think new members should check out the video that you made for the coffee deck. That was a great and fun video. I know it didn't have a lot of you in it but the idea behind it and the production was amazing!
Thanks again for another great video! Congrats on the growing popularity of this awesome channel and of course on the Parlour Playing Cards! I really can't wait to have them front and center in my collection!
Nicely done Corey!

Two gripes - with your commentary, not the cards. First, the big 3 are USPCC, Cartamundi and TWPCC. The reason you shouldn't say EPCC is because EPCC, Legends, Hanson Chien, Dex and others ALL use TWPCC as their printer. Second, 12:32 only a VERY small minority of TWPCC's decks are printed in their Chinese factory - probably less than 10%, in fact. The vast majority are printed in Taiwan, NOT China. And there's a huge difference in quality between the two. The decks printed in Taiwan are vastly superior in quality to USPCC, while the decks printed in the PRC are below USPCC. Remember Blaines' Stoics deck and more recently the first holographic Fontaines? Those awful decks were printed in the China factory. 90-95% of decks from Legends and EPCC are printed in Taiwan, and Hanson Chien's decks are ALL printed in Taiwan. /end_gripe As for the cards, I'm not nearly as impressed as you are. They're definitely above average, but I wouldn't say outstanding.
