I’m 23 years old and I just wanted to say I have been through a lot the past 5 years of my life and I have started watching your channel since the end of January and you have helped me with so much things. I lost 4 family members within a year the biggest loss was my mother who had stage 4 glioblastoma brain cancer and then her parents died months later and then my grandfather on my dad’s side. Losing someone can make you stronger as a person.
You are strong bro!
😌🙏
Sounds like you're a strong person already. Keep at it!
Despite how painful such a thing is. It’s best to understand that you’re still alive. You being alive matters now more than ever due to now your family living on through you. There’s honour in that. Stay strong. Even if it comes down to just putting one foot in front of the other
So sorry for all your losses. 💜 Glad you found Dewayne and Momma they are always caring and wise.
True Cowboy, Philosopher and a Gentleman. A great role model for all. Thanks for everything DeWayne.
I just had a big fight with the woman I love.. I'm 20 years old and I had a very tough upbringing.. I was looking for music to listen to and while typing in " let yourself go" for a green day song, I saw a man I'd like to have a conversation with right below so I clicked on it and it was exactly the video I needed to see so I don't hurt myself further tonight.. I can not express how grateful I am to have been spared the pain of the thoughts that would've wrecked weeks of progress .. There's probably thousands if not millions of comments like this.. But I thought I'd express my gratefulness regardless of that.. The way you present certain problems for people is so logical yet very much explained as a person who just knows better if you care to listen and implement the words to your situation..
I would not have made it through tonight without being more angry at myself and hurting myself , if I didn't hear what I heard from you.. Thank you ,from the bottom of my heart . Thank you for caring about other human beings so much, Dewayne!
“You have to move the horse’s feet to get to his mind. You have to get the mule’s mind to get his feet.” Good lord is that accurate!
The depth of wisdom in this video is really profound, and it’s applicable to so many things beyond just mules and horses. I believe this is how Jesus works with us.
I know you're a Christian man Dewayne, but this beautiful video, reminded me of what the Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh said about peace : Peace in the world starts with peace in oneself. If everyone lives mindfully, everyone will be more healthy, feel more fulfilled in their daily lives and there will be more peace. AND so now I'm reminded, it applies to animals as well.
You're right buddy, when people err against you, only focus on improving yourself, as the only way to overcome the wrongs in this world is to focus harder on improving oneself. Through our own personal discipline, may we show others. God bless.
@@TruthSeeker-rn1tmin being calm and peaceful we can only truly be empathetic and thus actually take time to get to know other people so we stop giving random general advice.
Best wishes to all of y'all
An equine reflects the demeanor of it's leader. True with business, Churches, homes, whatever. If the leadership is uptight and negative the whole outfit will be. It's the same thing with helpful, energetic, peaceful leadership.
I believe you're right, it was Ray Hunt that said a mule forces you to treat it the way you SHOULD treat a horse.
Low key, subtle horsemanship. 👍👍
Good video Dwayne. I had a mule i raised from birth. Loved her bery much. Miss my old girl. She passed at 25 about 6 yrs ago. Theres just something about mules. No 2 are the same but when you love em you sure miss having them around. I miss my horse too, she died unexpectedly and now i have none in 62 years. What a life changing event for me. Will be hard to find good ones like i had. Love your videos regardless of the topic. You & Momma are just good people. Prayers for your son's safety in the service.
When I was in Jr.High, I worked on a local horse farm mucking stalls. I couldn’t believe how stupid those Thoroughbred horses were compared to the cattle I showed. They were scared of everything. Looking back they were just paying attention and probably not used to someone who didn’t tiptoe around them. I always learn something watching your videos. We are a similar age and mindset. I’m at the point where I’m happy to listen to what someone else has to say, especially if it saves me work or bruises.
I'd love to hear your views on the dynamic that occurs between people with PTSD and horses. In that case, you have a person who might be reflecting some serious trauma and it seems that the horses are able to help, rather than simply reflect back whatever they are getting.
I don’t feel so bad now when Reba did the same to me when you sent me out to catch her in pasture at the TN school. She’s gave me a workout but she’s still my favorite mule 🏄♂️ Indeed the equine is a reflection of ourselves. Magnificent.
Thanks for the shout out, I love your stuff!
We all love your stuff too!!!
You’re welcome! I’m surprised you even know who I am 😊. I love your sensible, logical, reasoning approach to horses.
Oh I know exactly who you are!@@DryCreekWranglerSchool
If more people aimed for peace, with their animals, each other, and themselves this world would be a much better place. Thanks for the reminder.
Amen to that
Very good demonstration. I've got a 4 or 5 year old mule we are gonna break to ride hopefully. This is a tip I hope to put into practice in the next day or so.
Thank you Dewayne; your teaching goes beyond your animals. And as far as RUclips ‘content’; your videos are far more valuable and pleasing to watch than most of the stuff on here. Thank you sir!
Awe Reba ...your in Goodman hand's... I've got sum mule issues too😂 NO DOUBT...Calm, Loving, compassion and Patience, ultimately although all day's grateful for MOST all Thing's 😊😊😊😊😊😊
That was beautiful how at the end she just followed you without the halter on!!! Loved it 😊
I am so happy that we got to see Reba the Mule today!!! Thank you, Dewayne!!!

Really enjoyed this. One of my favorite videos was among your early ones explaining the difference between horses and mules. I've always respected mules with little understanding of them. Fascinating explanation, Dewayne.
Thank you DeWayne, your guidance translates well to the autistic classroom believe it or not
Everything you said is so spot on. Reminds me a lot of Ray and Buck.
I love Reba. We need more Reba videos.
Really enjoy and appreciate your videos DeWayne .
27:20 - Incredible to see how she follows you after some peacefull connection:)
Always watch. Listen and enjoy ❤️❤️❤️

Mr. Dwayne I’m so excited you have a mule.
💚 So many life lessons. Thank you so, so much.
Hello great video information
What a beautiful animal! And what a beautiful display of how we ALL need to be with ourselves and with each other
Thank you so much sir
🙏🇬🇧
Beautiful! Lovely peaceful time for me watching this too.
Dang...That mule loves you Mr Dwayne..She is a very sweet mule..I was waiting in the first video with the horse, for you to bring up and mention the relationship with the horse and its training. That relationship and training to, humans and our training with each other..You did on the second..Thanks Big Dog! People that have a problem with your Cigars and pipes, and Backy..Well they don't appreciate what it represents, the Cigar that is.. 😊..The Cigar represents prestige, power, prowess, and ascended people's or, Adepts..People who hold Wisdom and natural magic..It's a gifting Big Brother! Thank you for letting us peer into your life Mr Dwayne..I have not words my man..
I knew a lot of cowboys that had a hell of a time breaking mules. Most failed. Breaking a horse is somewhat formulaic. Mules are a different story. Good on you, stay patient and vigilant.
More mule stuff please!
Reba is a sweetheart and she really likes being with you. I'd love to have a mule that nice ! She's certainly aware of everything 360° around her, she's looking one way but listening behind her!
You are the best i love you wish you all the best
Thanks Dewane , marvelous lesson❤
Perfect video for me today!!! Going to try to apply to my Brother !!! 🤣🤣🤣I think it will help thanks you two!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🕊️🕊️🕊️❤️❤️❤️
Smartest animals I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with! they’re all I ride!
Thanks Dewayne. I'm just starting to get interested in mules so this was a great video for me. I'm planning to go down to Mule Days in Bishop, CA this year to soak up as much knowledge as I can.
Looks like you really have her going your way, Dwayne. A real positive observation is that in the beginning when she was avoiding being haltered she never turned her butt to you. Enjoyed the video. Mules are really great animals
Thank you.
Such a beautiful animal :)
I know nothing of the mountains of Idaho but I can see the mules feet inkling. Magic
This is a perfect metaphor for my relationship with God
I don't know if I would want a mule or horse following me around like my shadow, but in the right circumstances. Thank you for sharing with us. God Bless 🙏
Great video
Definitely makes sense
lovely
Ive always wanted a mule going to get one someday ❤
Im from Montana and the wind noise is appropriate :) there’s wind noise on the prairie. I’m sure it bothers people who aren’t used to it but I like it
Takes time for sure 🤔😉
Reba is a beauty. Last time I rode a mule, I got bucked off. Not sure whose fault it was cause I was a little kid, sitting with my mom. It was my Uncle's mule, I think he did something to make it happen. But I still like them.
Great vid as always. Does look like with the white hairs on the withers she's not had a proper mule saddle much in her life.
Those are from a pack saddle last summer that didn’t fit her good
That’s a fantastic point when you say the horse is the mirror. A mirror of who you are is not the mirror on the wall. It’s not the one you talk to. It’s all around you in the way you live your life. Unless you’re a super spy then all bets are off lol.
Can you make a video on changing the heart and mind of a person to?
Futile attempt
May I recommend a cheap windsock/shield for that microphone. Makes such a difference to the audio when filming outside.
I have two wind socks for this microphone, but between my best, my jackets and my beard they constantly just get knocked off. The microphone company has not come up with a decent way to attach these socks so that they stay on.
Thank you Dewayne for what you do. I am a green horse/mule owner, my issue is not my mule ( he is a old retired packers mule been there done that) my issue is my young gelding. He will not have the mule around him he will chase the mule off to the point I remove the mule from the same pasture so the mule can have peace. How do I get the horse to bond with the mule?
It’s kind of like trying to get two people that don’t like each other to bond. It really doesn’t work. It has to happen naturally, or it’s not gonna happen.
My theory is a lot like you say but more. I don't care if it is a horse, a mule or a goldfish. I train the mind because the mind controls the whole body in ALL animals. Warwick is a good bloke.Several good horsemen have said similar things, people don't have horse problems, horses have people problems. Being a better person is the key to being a better horseman.
Thx U3
This reminds me of dealing with children.

What was the book about cowboy life you recommended
👍✌️
Omg those lips and chin really show her mood.😆
👍
Exactly why I love mules. Its all mind, not yanking. Which does not work.
Mules are just like horses, just more so.
Its hard to beat a good mule. Had a buddy years ago that was straight up mule man. He loaded up his favorite mule one day that was about 12yrs old. He got in an accident and he could never load that mule again. Anyone else could. Not him. Mule lost trust in him.
One animal I have had, not bad luck. But let’s just say interesting times with! Had one kick the … out of me for just wiggling her ears and another try to drag me skinny. Lol
But to this day, depending on what I have to do? I will take mule anywhere I’d have a bad time with a horse.
“Hearts & minds” is a military objective, right?
That’s just American military propaganda designed to fool the gullible and naive patriots. Imagine trying to ‘win hearts and minds’ by killing and bombing the poor folks in Iraq and Afghanistan? How stupid we Americans are!
🌞🦡😊thank you
first
I don't think Reba likes cigar smoke 🤣
Have you ever had one that wouldn’t connect to you ?
Awesome video. Please do a couple follow up videos under saddle to earning her mind (to prevent a bolt back to her buddies later 😂)
