I thought I was the only one who noticed I didn't like it as much And I thought it was my TV but I changed the settings I managed to take to blur off but it just felt weird a bit for a small moment
I mean you can't say it's better than the real blu ray when volume 2 isn't even released yet lol. The volume 1 did have reduced blur and increase in saturation and they actually reduced Levi's chubbiness in many shots. If they change the white lighting to blue like wit used to do, it will be awesome.
@@matheusgiacomin2494 to introduce more depth in some compositions or to focus on some characters, but sometimes it's a soft blur/gradient everywhere in the whole setting that can take over. In action for example it would've been so much more refreshing seeing some smear frames than blur

The so called blur in blu ray is just for focus, it blurs the background so we can clearly see what they intend us to do because at times they just go unnoticed and this also is only in 3-4 scenes.
Na as much talented he is, working there would be different and he's doing this for fun. Mappa will spoil his enjoyment by forcing him work to the bone
Awesome work. That scene of Levi cutting the pure titans arm off looks significantly better. I also like how you added a lot of light to the forest scenes, I always pictured it not being dark af in the forest when I read it in the manga
The darkness was fine. Most of those trees were massive as fuck, and Levi clearly didn't go that high up to escape the light depraved lower limbs. But its whatever 🤷
@@talphazero1036 Yeah yeah I know, but that shouldn't prevent you from being able to see the lines of the drawing. For example Wit (without falling into fanaticism) had many dark scenes but always knew how to achieve a clear image. In fact, one of the great weaknesses with Mappa was that, they did not illuminate the scenes well, it was difficult to understand the details of the drawing at first glance. They may have done it so that the CGI is not noticeable, however I think it ends up being more damaging.

the thing that drastically changed the Levi we're used to was the mappa nose. it just doesnt fit him at all since Levi has a very pointy and small nose and most of his facial features are also sharp and "pointy" you did such a great job here THANK YOU!!! btw 5:40 I was literally screaming holy SHITTTTT

FINALLY. The wait was worth it too! Yes, a lot of the frames looked too fanmade, but I've read what you had to say about this fact, and I totally support your decision. I'm a bit upset that Zeke didn't go through any design changes (his jawline was way too wide in this season, and his nose-- horribly inconsistent), meanwhile Levi was constantly made more handsome and skinnier than he's supposed to be, but regardless-- great job, totally worth the wait.
6:05 Ooooh my god, his death glare gives me the *chills* - well done! One can tell yours is a work of pure passion. The new scenes add just the right amount without being too much and this comparison showed me why I found Levi to be so...off. His nose is completely wrong.
WITs designs were sharper while MAPPAs where rounder which to me they were fine in the trailer but for some reason they made them more rounder in the final product. Ik the trailer was pre-animated by a different group so my guess is that they made the trailer after starting the anime if not then I dont see why they couldnt use the trailers character design.
@@lazz5207 They should've used some scenes in the trailer than using their own animated scenes which resulted into more trainwreck than it already is. The quality was 5.5/10 for me at best. I gotta say, the story is what carried the hype for the season.

The lighting that are fixed and personal touches are just *cheff's kiss* and I love that you showed levu talking when he was cutting the branches plus the kevi zoom in face instead of just his leggs.
this is amazing ... you made the beast titan scene so much better I'm literally in awe- I love Levi and my life as a fan Has Improved greatly because of this. The intensity was so spot-on, the effects were amazing and appropriate for the show- and he looks so much better!
How incredible that a person can stand out in such an excellent way from the original, when Mappa professionals in their bluray version only added more glitter and blur ... 10/10 beautiful work.

The Mappa Levi is drawn following the official character design. What vlayd did was changing to his character design, but the Mappa one is sticking with his character design

The way you make Levi Look like LEVI Just makes it feel like it's actually levi MAPPA's version of him just doesn't really feel like levi I still appreciate MAPPA's work though I mean they animated all of this in such a short time
great job! levi’s design was never consistent to begin with (even with wit he looks wildly different between seasons 1 and 3) but i think you did an amazing job marrying his wit design with mappa’s art style.
that scene in the forest i always thought it was so jarringly distracting how different he looked in the flashback with erwin. now i think “sure he looks different, but it’s clearly the same person”
The reason he looks different from season 1-3 is because Isayama's drawings improved throughout the years. Their faces weren't detailed in the early manga, WIT did a great job adapting it👍🏼
Keep in mind season 1 and 3 have like a 5 year age gap. It would make sense for the design to be a different as Isayama's artsyle improved over the years

i honestly didn't mind the shape of Levi's face this season it's just that it looks too different every time they changed the angles.
