Well thats the most novel way to tell the world your going to be a Dad I've seen in a while. Congrats.
Cheers mate :)
SPOILER!!!! :P
You've missed a clue or two before. ;-)
Congratulations James!
I found myself shouting at my TV "there! Turn around! It's out again!!" 😆
haha, imagine editing the video... :)
Me too.
So did I 🤣🤣🤣
Me, too. I had a similar experience years ago at Mount Rushmore. There was heavy fog but also brightening sunlight, so from time to time the presidents would peek out to see if there was an audience...
He did! A mere second too late. :-D
Congrats on the big news, though!
Congratulations. As to advice, parenting is like photography, everyone has an opinion on how you should do it but you should do what feels right for you and your family. All the very best.
Literally most stressful video yet I've been screaming "its behind you" like I'm at a panto when you were trying to get a shot of the top of the mountain. Never the less very fun watch as always.
Your tip on knowing how to make changes without "chimping" was "spot on".
Look at me, I'm in Wales. Look at me, I can go out. Look at me, I can travel around Wales. Where are you, ohh you can't. Nevermind, Look at me, I can.....
Up yours Popsy....
Congratulations to Emily on your new assistant to be😊🙏
Of all the sites that deal with advice for photographers, I find this one the most helpful. Straight forward, practical and sensible. I appreciate the site and thank you for bringing it to us.
Congratulations on the baby!! The best advice is to not listen to any advice. Everyone does things differently and just do what fits better your lifestyle and values.
Congratulations on your new assistant. They will be excellent for getting you up really early in the morning, but they might not allow you to leave at the time you want to. Also, you could possibly forget what a good night's sleep actually is like.
Congrats !!! No tips here ... just enjoy all moments ... they grow up so quickly !!!
Congratulations Emily and James on the wonderful news of the baby.
Congratulations. I don't have kids, but looking at a few friends who got some, try to get some sleep before.
Congratulations on the baby mate. I also always get my gear ready the day before. Everything charged and in my bag ready to go because I used to always forget something if I was leaving early. Thanks for the tips mate 👍
Was that a “I’m gonna be a dad”? Congratulations to you both! Advice? Erm, don’t drop it. Worked well for us so far at least.
Oh, that must be where I went wrong.
I got my "assistant" forty years ago. It was a life-changing moment. Even after all these years it is still rewarding. Embrace every moment. They come and go so quickly. Congrats and best wishes to you, Emily and the baby.
I got mine 28 years ago, and you are so right. It feels like he's gone from a tiny baby to a grown man in the blink of an eye.
Mister James you are so adorable when you see a awesome shot and you get excited LOL.
Congratulations on the baby. Remember children are a gift from God!
Great video James. The advice you asked for: Don’t change your lives, we did and somehow regret it. The little one will “appreciate” you both more if you go ahead and spend your days in the same “boring” manner (for you it might be, for him everything is new and consequently exciting). Be safe and congratulations 🎊🎉🍾.
Congratulations on recruiting your new assistant James and Emily. In between changing nappies, bathing, feeding, cradling, rocking to sleep, etc etc etc, you might even get to brush up on your baby photographer skills. Hope everything goes well.
What an awesome way to announce that you’re growing the family and becoming a dad. It was so smooth.
Congratulations to your family and especially your new assistant!
Advice....don’t over think or over analyze. As long as mom and dad have a great bond first, everything will be fine.
Congratulations on becoming a dad you are embarking on a wonderful journey. Great video James keep them coming👍
Congratulations! Our little one was born last September, it's been a fun, exhausting and messy 8 months! Savour every moment, as cliché as it's sounds they really do grow so fast.
Congrats being a dad changed my life.
Congrats! No reason to be terrified. There is nothing you can't handle. Cheers
Congratulations James, That's fantastic news. Hope you enjoyed the peace and tranquillity that was your life up to now as that's gone for ever. Enjoy the ride, it's the best thing that will happen to you..ever!! I should know, I have 3!!
I’m jealous I’d love to able to hike in areas like that.
I’ve only recently bought a clip for my backpack so my camera is always just there. It’s an absolute game changer. And it’s such a simple thing.
Congrats!!! I got an advice, when my first kid was 2-3 months old, and we literally slept nothing: the bigger the kid, the bigger the problem :) And the joy. And the bills. But newer mind, it is fun really. Lock your office door, make lots of videos before august, and sleep. Sleep a lot! And buy bigger storage for baby photoes.
This was an adorable baby announcement. Kid's in good hands, got good bosses.
Congratulations James and Emily! Most important bit of advice anyone can give is that secretly... No one knows what they're doing! Everyone wings it. But it's important to both agree and or find a happy medium
Congrats on the headcount addition.
Last point, absolutely right! I’m JUST getting into photography and I don’t know my camera. That’s my first priority 👌🏼
An unsolicited one to go along with your ‘know your camera tip’; when you are out there shooting in manual mode, based on current lighting situation there is a general setting for most of the shots that you set your camera for, sometimes you tweak settings for a particular shot so after taking that shot always revert to the general exposure setting (iso shutter speed and aperture) else one might end up under or over exposing next shot that quickly popped up and fixing that in Post could be a nightmare.
Woo hoo! Congratulations, Popsys Family!
Congratulations on the new assistant 😊. I thank you two will be great parents. Happy for you both.
Packing at 4.30 AM will not be a problem, when the baby is born.
Congrats to the fam!
Congratulations!! You’re going to be an amazing dad. Enjoy it!
James, I am so happy for you and Emily!! Congratulations! You really rocked me back in my chair when you just pull out the ultrasound... LOL! You are both going to be great parents! I just know it. We couldn't have our own and so God set us on the adoption path. I can tell you James, there is no rule book. Not saying that you shouldn't read or go to classes mind you, but we learned (and still do... our daughter is 17 yrs old now) to just live each precious moment and instill in that little one all that you know and love. Anyway, I have no doubt that you will be fantastic parents and that your little one will be richer for having you. Many blessings to you both. Cheers!
CONGRATULATIONS! Very exciting news. Being a dad changes your life (in a good way). You guys will be great. Awesome video as always champion 👍🏻
Happy Easter, James! Congratulations to you and Emily on your first child! That's wonderful news. God's choicest blessings on the three of you!
Congratulations to you and Emily on the new assistant/invoicing clerk. We're due to be grandparents for the first time in June so also super excited. As parents of 4 (now all adults) my only piece of advice is this "take EVERY piece of advice, especially unsolicited advice, as an opinion to think about, then do what feels right to you and don't be worried about getting things wrong, or changing your mind based on experience." Enjoy your new adventure! 😁❤️
Thanks Andrew, that's much appreciated - I'll keep it to mind :)
Congratulations on the pregnancy!
I had my first child 5 weeks and 6 days ago. Here’s some advice I’ve learnt so far.
Breastfeed is good.
If you decide to bottle feed get a Baby Prep machine which helps prepare a bottle in under two minutes. Great for night feeds.
Get baby used to crib straight away and don’t hold them too much, this will come in handy later as they wouldn’t need too much attention.
Aldi nappies are cheap and very good. Heard similar things about their wipes but haven’t tested them out yet.
Make a list of things you’ll need and get family members and friends choose what to get you or you’ll get duplicate items.
Can’t think of anything else but the experience is surreal and I’ve heard it doesn’t sink in for months, maybe years
Congratulations on you and Emily becoming parents. Get as much sleep as you can before he arrives in August because for the first many years you’ll be his assistant. 😎 Best, Sylvia
Congratulations to you and Emily. Nice end to the video. Photos of little ones is a whole other ballgame and even more unpredictable than the British weather.
Congratulations! Looking forward to seeing the young one playing with their first camera in a few years.
congratulations to both of you the only advise i can give you is to enjoy the years ahead
Stay at home dad and photographer here...... Congrats buddy! We have 10, don't ask..... And yes, all ours. My photography range is all over the place now. Interested where yours will go over the next 10 years.
Congratulations on your new little guy. I have two, 6 and nearly 3. The first ruined our lives and then we rebuilt with him and he's the most wonderful little person. Then we did it again.
I also learned enough to become completely irritated with the depictions of new parenthood. So much about delivery, nothing about the post-delivery rebuild and her trauma.
Congratulations on your soon to be new arrival. Every baby/assistant is different, hopefully you'll have an assistant that isn't too demanding on you both. 😃
Congrats to you and Emily. Excited is a good place to start. Not to worry, the terror will subside once he is completely grown, has a career and has launch his own life. Okay, maybe longer than that. My advice, keep your well developed sense of humor, take in as much as you possibly can and enjoy every moment. BTW, great video. Best to you both (or is that 3).
HUGE CONGRATS TO BOTH!!!
The way you shared your good news was just about as smooth and deadpan as I've ever seen. Delivery is everything (pun intended). Congratulations James. You two will do great. I'm sure of it.
Congratulations to you both and wishing you all the joy that little ones bring, no advice from me, as you will hear it all from the family. I often find my best composistions when having a pee, i.e. stand still in one spot for a while and look all around you.
Always look behind you.....sound advice. Congratulations to you and Emily. So exciting. And such a novel way to announce it as well.
Steptoe gloves for the win!
Congratulations on the baby!
Congratulations to you and Emily happy day's and lots of baby photo shoots
Definitely agree on keeping your camera out.
Massive congratulations on your excellent news! Welcome to the best, and worst job in the world! Take a leaf out of your 'operate your camera without looking' book, and start learning to do EVERYTHING with one hand!
Congrats on the new assistant. Love your channel.
Regarding advice, one thing I can tell you is that you will get advice from everyone regardless if you ask or not. I suggest you don’t take any of it seriously. I promise you, you guys will know exactly what to do. There are more experts on how to raise a baby than there are babies 😁
Hurray!!!!! Been expecting this news! Congratulations to you and Emily!!!!!
Congratulations to you and Emily on your impending new arrival! ❤️👍
Thanks Neil :)
Congrats! Advice... kids only prevent adventures if you don’t bring them along. Get them involved however you can, but be prepared for your definition of adventure to change.
Congratulations! My advice is just to relax and enjoy.
Congratulations, James and Emily!!! Wonderful news.
Congratulations to you both. Life will never be the same again, but you wouldn’t change it for the world.
Awesome news, congratulations to you both.
I think the key piece of learning I took away is that a day appears to have two 5.52's one of which apparently takes place in the morning. Who knew!
Thanks mate! I've a terrible feeling I'll be seeing 5.52am an awful lot more...
@@JamesPopsysPhoto Yeah, I figured I would leave you to come to that realisation yourself. Well done!
Congratulations on the baby, don't worry you'll be fine. The first 21 years fly by and then they're off to Uni and after Uni they come home for another 7 or 8 years! P.S. Love the channel.
I’m actually moving to north Wales from Texas in July of this year. Also congrats
You'll need much waterproof clothing! lol.
Thanks for the great tips James. So happy to hear about your new little assistant in August! CONGRATS to you and Emily! xo
Best advice I can pass along is this; between the two of you be on the same page, be firm and be consistent. You don’t need to have the kid ping pong between the two of you to get what they want. Also don’t try to be their friend be the parent. Parents that are friends typically can be manipulated by the kid. When they grow up then be their friend. Remember there is no secret formula, you two communicate and stay consistent.
Congratulations to the two of you
Congrats!!! Be ready to have your emotions completely changed. Also, dad reflexes are real.
Congratulations! I’m looking forward to tips on how to take photos when you haven’t slept for weeks!
Congratulations on the baby. My advice is get plenty of hard drives for all of the thousands of photos you are going to take of your baby.
Cheers Simon! :)
Uh oh, does this mean James is going to have a license to tell Dad jokes? He's been practicing.
Congratulations on your new addition. Maybe tip #6 should be to keep your photo gear protected from small hands?
Congratulations James and Emily 👍🏻 my advice is to cram in as much mountain biking as you possibly can before August. You’ll both make wonderful parents I’m sure 😊
Congratulations, James and Emily!
Well! You'll be up for some annoying nights I must say! 🤔 But also for some of the most awesome moments of your lives! So congratz and "be patient" are in order! Best of luck, health and fortune to you and your new assistant! 😃
Congratulations to you both, wonderful news. I have some advice - don't listen to other people's advice. Do what makes you, Emily and Baby Popsys happy. Because you will have everyone and their dog saying "Isn't the baby too hot/cold in that outfit" or "You really should/shouldn't pick up baby when it cries". As long as the three of you are content, that's all that matters :)
Huge news! Congrats! My advice, enjoy it-even when it's really hard. The 'best days' are always in the rear view'. Don't waste them!
Congratulations James and Emily.
Thanks once again for a great video, and CONGRATULATIONS on the family news!! All the best to you guys
Congrats, nice little last minute nugget. I have 3 and 2 were August babies.
Big congrats on you and Emily on getting a future "assistent"!!! No advice really, only a remark: getting up early will not be as difficult as you will be woken up at all times during the night, at least in the first months/year :-)!
Congrats on the new Hire!
Congratulations to you both! Great news, James 👍
Congratulations to you both ! Best advice I received before my four daughters was "it will be better than you ever think it could be, and worse than you ever think it could be". Nothing prepares you for the strength of emotions. Reckon also getting up for sunrise might be a challenge and you might find yourself focussing more on Portrait Photography !
Congrats to you all. Hope Emily is doing well. My advice is to take it easy/slow and just enjoy (between the lack of sleep). In fact, just plan 1/5 of your things in the beginning. Keep up your great work!
Congratulations to you both. Wonderful news.
Congratulations! The only advice I have is to not get bogged down with too much helpful advice, because you will get lots and some of it conflicting lol. Trust yourselves and you'll do fine. No one is perfect. We're meant to make mistakes to learn and grow, so as long as you admit your mistakes as you go along, your kids get to know it's ok to make their own mistakes too. Happy days :)
Congrats mate! I started with twins so I got more than I could chew. You can definitely draw a line in your life when the child is born because here starts a new life. You are now slipping down to third place in the priority list. It is an exciting moment, but you will slip in the routine and suddenly has 20 years passed by and you wonder where the heck did they went. Now I sound a bit rueful but it is lot of fun as well.
That last picture/scan is fantastic! I'm hoping there was no tripod involved in the making of.
Congratulations to you both !
Congratulations!! Don’t stress you will be great parents! Also great video with some useful tips!!
Congratulations James & Emily. The best advise is to not read any parenting books, just follow your heart and write your own as you go (like the rest of use have had to do)
Congratulations! The one thing I'd tell you is what I tell all new parents - although as a photographer you probably already know it: take lots and lots of photos because the little ones change very, very fast and it's really nice to have a record of what they looked like at each stage of development!
I am sure that you will make a fantastic father! Take it from me it’s the most enjoyable experience one can have. My son still makes me happy.
5 Things every Outdoor Photographer should do - Have an assistant? I have eight. Congratulations James and Emily. :) One of my favorite focal lengths for babies is the 35.
Proud Papa Popsys! Congrats. Be sure to read the manual.
Congratulations to you and Emily 🍾
