I am a huge Dylan fan and this song is one of my favorites. Your cover works because you kept it simple and let the poetry of the lyrics come through. I love your voice and it serves the song well. I want to see more of your stuff. Thanks.
Thank you very much, I really appreciate that.. You can check out my stuff on all streaming platforms; released a lot of original material. Stay healthy and safe :)
This is a terrific version of one of Dylan's finest poems. It was written 62 years ago, but it is as relevant today as it was during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Apparently humans will always have the ability to destroy the planet. Songs like this help us remember what is at stake. I hear Dylan's concerns in your version. That is simply amazing.
It’s only last year that a friend introduced me to Bob Dylan. I read his book and listened to all his songs. Your cover touches the core of my soul - this is one of my most fav Dylan songs ❤️✨
Ross, your family has turned us on to your melodious music which transcends the worries of our world🥸! We love 💕 you, Ross. Your dear Atlantic cousins, Dave and Sue Frey
sync, that was one of the best covers I've heard. Great voice & ty "wounded in love, wounded in hatred" favourite lyrics. Never doubt a voice that can direct our healing, The curse of your tongue will darken your being, The hunger of your dogs should be shared just as even, They watched from above as my soul it did sweeten, I'm filled with contentment when they sing gentle feeling, They measure the baseline while I heighten the ceiling, The distance is to far yet my jump is believing, And it's a hard rain, gonna fall.
hi now we can all see into the command center of the 💃🏼🐖enterprise is that a high bed? and well played and sung 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 you remind me of the young john lennon
The only cover of this song I ever truly appreciated was Patty Smith's at the Oscar reward ceremony... *so far. 'Cause yours which I've now just listened to is so mesmerizing.. So faithful to the original yet so personal at the same time. You made it yours, you followed it up in all of its formal simplicity and, still, felt it in all of its tragic despair. Congratulations, such genuine performance...!
Nice job! You're singing is awesome. I'm trying to play this on a mandolin, but I doubt that I'll ever be able to master it because of my aging hands. Awesome singing through.
I love your cover of this song. With your permission, I'd love to use it as part of a soundtrack for a documentary I'm making. Would that be all right with you? Please let me know!
Really, really exceptionally great cover! Where are you based out of? Have you ever covered, "Baby Let Me Follow You Down?" Dylam sang it but didn't write it..

@@micheleulysse Ah, gotcha. Artistic choice. Those were the original lyrics, from a live performance Dylan did in 1962, before the song was recorded. He was constantly editing his songs.

@@rosswylde Thanks for the explanation Ross. I was well wide of the mark in trying to understand the comment you made (as part of the description of this post, sorry don't know the right terms to use here - but I'm sure you will understand my reference). Thanks

You really captured the doom and hopelessness in the voice that Bob had in his original. Very good cover.

Awesome cover! Though I must say, I had no idea SP wasn't an ancient wizard with vast tapes of Dylan from the 60s :o
Hahah that might be me in about 70 years.
I just loved the way how you held high and low notes. You performed well though. 👏
Should that be "hard to see the pavement through""?
