so what is the issue, exactly? autofocus being annoying? asking because I'm considering buying it. as for using an old phone as a cam, I've been doing that, until the battery swelled badly. tried bypassing it, thing got stuck in a boot loop. so watch it. you could have a camera that does fireworks!!
A camera that does fireworks sounds sweet :) Yeah the autofocus was quite erratic on the Kiyo X but i'm pretty sure Razer have done some firmware updates since this review so they may have resolved it. You can put it into manual focus in OBS so that does eliminate the issue.
I checked this video out recently, and was hopefully looking for some answers. I don't have the Kiyo X, but I have the pro model, and it doesn't let me adjust focus at all. I can't manual focus it, and autofocus doesn't do anything, so I was wondering what I should do about that. -Thanks!
Hello buddy, I hope you're well. If you're using OBS then it should allow you to go into the options for the webcam there and disable the auto-focus. There should also be an option in the Razer Synapse software to disable it too. If it's still not working, then I would reach out to Razer support and see if they can help at all or return the webcam for a refund or replacement.
What are some better alternative webcams please with little to no motion blur if moving hands, not grainy, under $110. Clear picture even at full screen on monitor. My Logitech C525 (old) is grainy and not so great at full screen playback but it is old and 720p at 30fps, HZ 50 or 60 made no difference. OBS made no difference. Just for making family video recordings, skype? Thank YOU

I would maybe check out the Razer Kiyo Pro which is showing up as $79.99 at the moment - geni.us/Nz678RV (Amazon commissions paid) We have a review of it here - ruclips.net/video/fNfH6gSzCPk/видео.html When we reviewed it, the autofocus was very sensitive on it. They may have released a more up-to-date firmware for it now to make it react better. But you can always disable this in OBS to prevent it focus hunting. I hope this helps.

i’m going straight schizophrenic trying to get the camera from 720p to 1080p, whenever i try to do it in obs and set it to virtual camera at 1080p it just won’t work, can’t get virtual cam to show up in discord
Hello buddy, I hope you're well, apart from your webcam being a nightmare :) It's not an issue i've come across myself personally. The firs thing I would try is double check there isn't a firmware update for the webcam in your Razer Synapse software. I would then try plugging it into a different USB port, so if you've currently got it plugged into the front of your computer, then plug it into the back. Don't use it in a USB extension hub. Let us know if either of those helps at all.
Hello there ProdigyMan88, thank you for the kind words. for under $50, I would be looking at either the Emeet C960, the Creative Live! Cam Sync V2 or the Creative Live! Cam Sync V3. The Emeet has a good microphone for webcam standards, but the Creative Live! Cam can have some software installed which can remove background noise coming in through the microphone. You will need to have a play around with manual settings to get the best out of the webcams (I would recommend doing this for any webcam). If you have no background noise then the Emeet C960 does very well, if you do have noise then the Creative ones will be the better choice. Drivers was never an issue for me personally, but what I would try is moving it to a different USB port, so if you've got it connected to the front of your case, then try it in a port in the back (make sure it's not plugged into a USB extension hub). Also, if it's currently plugged into a USB 3 port, then try it in a USB 2.0 port (if you have one) and see if that gets it detected. I would also completely uninstalled Razer Synapse then make sure you restart your computer and reinstall it and see if that helps at all. Let us know if any of this helps you out.
I'm having a problem with my kiyo that I cannot find anywhere about it. The lighting on my face is "overexposed" (idk if this is the right word but imagine as if my face was the sun )whenever its natural light ( with the ring light on or off) and when I only have my room's light on and my pc on the left side of my desk. The light on my pc makes my face on the left side "overexposed". The only way to fix it is to cover my pc with a black towel and ONLY have the room's light on ( or the ring light on the least bright). Sometimes I wish I could use the natural light cuz it's morning or afternoon, but I can't cuz it always does that and idk what to do, I've installed the razer kiyo firmware update, I've uninstalled the device and still nothing. The settings are default and even if i put the brightness or contrast to the lowest my face still "blows up" in the camera. Anyone been through that or know how to fix it? I'm desperate
Hello there :) I hope you're well. Sorry to hear you're having issues with the Kiyo. Do you use OBS Studio at all? In OBS, you can put a video capture device source as your webcam and you can double click on it. From there you can click on configure video. Click on camera control and you can untick the box for exposure and this should give you a much better picture. I recommend checking out this video we made as it will show you how to add your webcam as a source in OBS. Hello Wrld Cyan, sorry to hear you're having issues with your Kiyo. The first thing I would do is wipe over the lens with a microfibre cloth just to make sure there's not anything like fingerprints on there which is throwing your focus out. When you're in OBS, if you double click on your webcam source and then go to configure video then go to camera control. You should be able to manually configure the focus in there. Try moving the slider around to see if you can get it into focus at all. Hopefully one of those methods may get it going, if not then I would look at sending the webcam back if it's still in warranty to either get a refund or replacement. Hope this helps.

Hello CryTom, I hope you're well buddy. I don't have the webcam or Razer Synapse software installed any more so I can't load it up and have a play around with it unfortunately. I was changing the resolution by using OBS which I didn't have any issues with. Which software are you looking at using your webcam with? Because what you could do, is change the resolution in OBS and then click on start virtual cam and this will allow you to use whatever resolution (and filters) you have on your webcam in OBS into any other software like Discord, Zoom etc.
You have got the special webcam that everyone wants and that is the one that's capable of 160x120 :) I want it. What I would recommend is plugging it into a different USB port on the back of your computer. Don't use an extension hub. Also, try it on a different computer and see if you get the same result.

razer is the worst piece of trash, both mice plus one headset i had broke. i usually handle with care not raging. first was lancehead TE which left/right main button broke, then i bought viper 8khz which had deffective scroll (jumping). never going back to this overhyped overrated overpriced shit of a brand again. headset just fell apart (the ear muffs' sew opened and the whole left ear muff also fell off of its place completely and couldnt put it back ever since.

razer is the worst piece of trash, both mice plus one headset i had broke. i usually handle with care not raging. first was lancehead TE which left/right main button broke, then i bought viper 8khz which had deffective scroll (jumping). never going back to this overhyped overrated overpriced shit of a brand again. headset just fell apart (the ear muffs' sew opened and the whole left ear muff also fell off of its place completely and couldnt put it back ever since.
So you're a big Razer fan? :)
Sorry to hear you've had issues, hopefully you've been in touch with them and they've offered some kind of resolution for you.
