I love your videos. Such a nice mix of friendly and informative. I’ve done mostly video related work, and began some initial ATMOS related video work about 2014 or so. Sooo different than ATMOS music, but I am actually liking ATMOS music much better than ATMOS for video/movies. I’ve only done non-immersive stereo music mixing since maybe 2005, so I’m learning every day.
I had a question. We use “Horror-tones” style check monitors for TV speaker-like sim checks for video work, but limit it to a very small minority of the time, because of the shrill nature, fatigue factor and experience. My question is, how do you do 80% of your mixing on those things? I think I’d quit the business if that were the case. It’s not that I don’t find it useful; but we, and many I know in the film/video business, often use a quality monitor’s focus mode (e.g. a footswitch latch mode on Focal’s and varioys has other speakers) to do such checks when extended listening of that type is needed. We then do limited cross-checks on the Auratones. How do you do it, and keep from hating mixing?
You see the mix, limiter and print channels you made can you do this on logic?
Can you do a video on mastering song that has a mastered two track beat
Thanks for the feedback. I’ll see what I can do.
👍🏾🔥👍🏾🤣😂😁👍🏾
Are you the same guy that has a mixing course on Mac Pro Videos? Would you still recommend I watch that video to learn how to mix in Pro Tools?
That depends… did you enjoy the course? 😏
@@DolbyAtmosMixing I didn’t take it yet, thinking of taking it tho
I have a lot of courses on Mac Pro video. Which one are you thinking of taking?
@@DolbyAtmosMixing I’m thinking of taking your course on how to mix EDM in Pro Tools.
is it me? or is that instrumental distorted? i mean, the wave looks like itz squashed to death & i can hear distortion in the low end... the kick & bass are fightin each other, sounds like a jail riot... but i love the song tho, itz hot... it makes u wanna move to it
Yeah man. Sometimes I get instrumentals that are MP3’s and the client needs you to make magic. It’s part of the process. Can’t complain.

no doubt, i feel u... i just wish there was a proven way to clean that up, but whatever the case keep doin ur thing... i'm learnin a lot from u, salute...
Thanks for the feedback. There are ways to trick the ear from not hearing distortion in the mix. But the funny part is that most commercial masters in this genre are clipping and distorting 🤦♂️
@@DolbyAtmosMixing
yeah, and that's a problem... i don't wanna get so used to it that i don't even hear it anymore, u kno what i mean?
