This was the missing piece to the puzzle that took me days to figure out, thank you so much! The issue I had was flickering dashboard backlighting when I would turn on my headlights. They would flicker about 6 times then all the dash lights would go out (with headlights still working). Replacing this switch fixed the issue!
Let me start by saying that I came across your video by accident lol. I was actually looking for info on putting led signal lights in my 2017 compass, and came across your video. Well the wheels were turning and there was smoke lol. I have to say amazing dude, I never thought that was possible, but it is, and it works. But here is what happened to me, I googled the product # for the arm in Canada and it brought me to "the monkey wrench". Well, they wanted $146 CDN for the part, but they listed 9 different vehicles and the years for that part. So with that knowledge, I went to the auto wreckers and searched. Finally, after about 50 cars from that list I found 2 in a row and took them both, just in case. They only charged me $10 CDN for both of them, first one I tried worked and now I have a spare if it works lol. Your obd to usb, well that's another story. Amazon Canada was charging me $99 CDN with tax. I thought that was a little pricey, so I went to Amazon US, and with conversion and shipping, cost me $68 CDN, I saved $31 lol. Now on to the software, that was $49 US, which was $63 CDN. So far so good, but it wouldn't connect lol. Did some searching on their site and got it to connect. Lo and behold, it works exacly as you said, just amazing and exactly what I want. Tape up the sensor and lights come on automatically and never have to turn them on. The funny thing is, when it came to taking out the signal arms at the wreckers. Well, lol, I look ar your video there and you said T15 torx and philips. LOl, I got them from a dodge journey, and it was a couple T25 torm and a philips. My first thought was you lied lol. Nope, on my Compass it's exactly as you said. Here is a list of the cars that come with that signal arm.... Chrysler 200 2011-2014 Chrysler Sebring 2007-2010 Dodge Avenger 2008-2014 Dodge Journey 2009-2010 Dodge Nitro 2010-2010 Jeep Commander 2008-2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee 2008-2010 Jeep Liberty 2009-2012 Jeep Wrangler 2011-2015 And again, Awesome job and thank you very much!!!!!!!
@@WeakestofWeeks It was the least I could do, that was amazing and never thought it was possible. I have a buddy that has a 2015 patriot, but no sensor mirror. I told him, pay the extra $30 and I'll get the vin for another jeep, but no, he doesn't want to try. So who know, it might work on a jeep without the sensor mirror. Cause really, the auto function, the lights come on regardless of time of day, just when you turn the key.
Thanks brother, mine recently went bad. Whenever there was the slightest touch on it, even when driving over bumps it will turn the cabin lights on or mess with the brightness on the dash. Really just annoying. Great vid! Will definitely be replacing it myself, thought it would be more complex.
Hey thanks a lot I said that really helped out now I'm trying to find out what do you have to do to the fog lights I got this voice change it has the fog lights again and the bugs already in where the fog light are do you have to do anything else to it
I was looking for another video on replacement of the wiper switch for a 2016 Compass when I found this video ( Great video thanks). Will you do a video on the wiper switch replacement also? Looking at this video, It looks like what I have to do may be as easy as what you just did in this one. Thanks for any help you can give...
The turn signal/headlight switch is one of the things that regularly go out on Chrysler products. You most likely get it replaced once during the warranty period. When the paint starts to fade on the switch, replacing it isn't far behind. Mine has been acting wonky for awhile now. The windshield wiper switch also is about as durable as the turn signal switch. Fortunately, it's just as easy to replace, you're just replacing two switches instead of one in the steering column.
Great Video. Maybe is a dumb question: Are lights on and off dynamically with ambient light changes? Or Just on when starting and off when removing the key from ignition? Thanks
I know this is an old video but you said patriot never came with auto headlights. I have a 2016 sport which does have the auto headlights with the sensor on the dash. Same thing with my brothers who has a 2016 base model.
I don't know if the car needs to have the sensor on the mirror, because this is an auto function and the lights come on when you turn on the car regardless if it's daylight or night time.
My Compass already had a factory touchscreen radio that I integrated an aftermarket camera system to. The install can be seen here: ruclips.net/video/X9kOKGjeLe8/видео.html
@@WeakestofWeeks That answers my next question lol. Ok, so now I need a touchscreen, a camera system, and a turn signal arm. Thank you for spending my money lol. Great video though, you hit the nail on the head.
You can just replace with an OEM like replacement turn signal switch without the auto headlight feature. Theres two different styles though depending on your vehicles options. With foglights (w/o auto lights) BWD brand part number is S14903. Without fog lights (w/o auto headlights) BWD # is S14700. Hope that helps!
I thought the Auto mode means automatically turning off during daytime and automatically turning on during night time… After setting up with your video, the lamp is still on during daytime.
There is no light sensor installation in the video, and it is needed. The sensor on the mirror does not work for automatic light, only for mirror shading. Checked

I wanted to thank you for this awesome video! This was the best of all of the ones that I watched.😊 Very helpful and complete.

Awesome. Thank you. The best part was your help in the DIY PROGRAMING
Thanks so much for your help! I’m so excited to replace this today as I haven’t been able to drive at night for 6months 😂👌💕

Is there a way to add drl's?

Awesome video thanks so much new suscriber...how you get the Appcar DiagFCA software?
Sorry this response is delayed. It can be purchased from there website. Make sure you have your VIN. appcar-diagfca.com/en/place-order/
You said you bought a back up camera for your 2011 Jeep compass, did your compass come with the lcd? If not, where did you get the camera and lcd?

So if I have a Manuel mirror without the sensor will this still work?
It might still work but unfortunately I cannot confirm.
My 2009 patriot didn’t come with fog lights what’s the best way to get them wired in?
This might be able to help: www.jeeppatriot.com/threads/how-to-install-factory-fog-lights-write-up.291922/
Do you think this will work with the 2014 compass?
Yes
👍👍👍👍
What if i dont want the auto lights on my jeep patriot 2008

Why just one signal flash real fast and the other one goes slow
They flash the same
You said 80 bucks for that part it's now 125ìsh for it cause mine just just went to shit
Dang inflation!
You put parts from a girl car (Jeep Liberty) into your Compass? (which is only slightly less girly). SMH
