    Saw the Who for the first time, I think 1970 in Cleveland. James Gang was the opening act, followed by James Taylor, then the Who. Best concert ever.

    Seen the WHO in north London 1973 . Started with can't explain. i can't explain how good this was. Never forget it. Ever.

    Saw The Who 1976 in Glasgow as a15 yr old. Goosebumps then and now. Saw many bands but none came close to these guys....

    Best rock band ever. The rule of thumb for acts was never follow The Who on stage. The Stones ,Chili Peppers, and others found out the hard way

      @@gregg06141969 Zep was an awful live band. Usually drunk, sloppy and boring. However, they have five of the greatest rock albums.

    Pete Townshend's Guitar riff on Can't Explain is Priceless and more particular memorable in this live 2000 version than the 1966 original But as I will always say The Who essentially helped invent punk Rock Punk Rock was always around before the late 70s it was just more concealed and hidden with Bands like The Who.

    pure magic... blessed to have had The Who as the sound track to my childhood. When we lost Keith, it was definitely tough to get my head around it, but when we lost John, it was as if the movie suddenly stopped, the lights came on and the ushers pulled us from our seats and pushed us out the door into the dark night. As a bassist, I always knew that he was the one who had written the holy words onto the stone tablets and dutifully held them high for us children to see... Thanks for sharing this glimpse into some of the final moments of greatness

    I was at this concert when I was 7! So lucky to have gone there!! I just noticed after watching one of the earlier performances of this song, that they use more distortion on this version. There is one positive thing in my opinion that has evolved in rock and that is the increase in distortion! This is probably the best version of this song!!!

    The Who did some mighty stuff, but this, as far as I'm concerned was the best. Saw them live when it came out, and from then on, this piece always gets me on the move. No arty-farty stuff.

    What a band! What a time! The mod band of the age, Vespas, Lambrettas, purple's and blue's and a weekend run down to the coast with hundreds of others to party till you dropped.

    I think this version of the song is the best version ever - far better than the original. What makes it so much better I don't even know. I guess you could say I "can't explain" why!

      This is one of those rare tunes in that I like almost evert remake of it, by any band with real passion that gives it a try. None as good as these guys, of course. But I like them all, nonetheless. :)

    @ 1:14 I find mastery of a guitar, that riff could sustain me aesthetically for a good long time. And during the riff, if you watch, that Bassist is playing frets very quickly...

    Best windmills since Silverdome '75. I was there: 5 Fahrenheit, 6 Schlitz, 3 liverwurst and mustard on rye; 3 peanut butter and honey, also on rye; 15 bucks, rockers, 100+ decibels, 4 buddies.
