    Regarding the buckles being a tad too large for the strap, Larry informed me that *only* the 22mm's have this issue. There is a (minor) gap prevalent with my other models, but only to help feed the straps through. I doubt future 22mm models will have this issue. Thanks for watching gang!

      it’s exactly same strap than Fluco Air which is only 15€

    Great review Patrick. For rubber straps I use the "boiling mod" them to make them more subtle, not mention it also makes them curve more to the wrist.
    -Put strap in flat bottom coffee cup and wrap it around the curve of the cup.
    -Boil some hot water and fill the cup up.
    -Let the strap sit in the water for about 2 minutes.
    -Pour the hot water out and run cold water into the cup until the strap cools down (maybe 10-15 seconds).
    -Remove the band and wear it.

    Since your video the clasp has been updated. I have 2 waffle straps; you’ve convinced me to buy a couple of the Tropic versions.

    I have this Tropic Strap and can vouch how awesome they're!

    I have this tropic strap on an SKX right now. Looks great on both that and a turtle. I also picked up Larry’s waffle strap, beads of rice bracelet, and a Zulu. All great stuff (but the Zulu is not so great that it could change my mind about nylon).

      I believe I have an earlier NATO of his with grommets in the holes. His bread and butter is definitely the bracelet/rubber strap department.

    I’ve been considering some tropics for my vintage compressor watches....cheers Patrick

      Yeah, these would complete the look perfectly... I'm going to be throwing a "new vintage" Wyler/Vetta Aquarama on one of Larry's straps as soon as it arrives. Cannot wait to share that with you guys. Not in a full video, but the model I have coming in is such a quirky diver.

      humm... I inherited an old supercompressor that my dad bought in the 60s as his first watch... I remember that as a kid it had one of those tropic straps and I hated. Now I kind of feel like the brown vintage leather strap I bought for it isn't doing it justice... but it's a 18mm will check if uncle seiko has it that small

    These straps look so good with these divers. They sure do look like the one that comes with the Oris diver 65.

      Well, this is the first time this franchise has had a global release (if I’m not mistaken). I get the excitement. I started playing Monster Hunter on the PSP, played (almost) every title since. MH:W = Best to Date, hands down, even with it’s quirks.

    • @james.shafiei
      @james.shafiei 6 лет назад

      Yep I agree, plus although it does have quirks as you said, they are far fewer in number compared to previous titles. I'm so grateful that you no longer really have to craft gathering gear and go on expeditions just to get supplies before a hunt anymore. THANK YOU CAPCOM!

    Wanted to drop a comment for people looking at this strap. I have both the 20mm and the 22mm. I can highly recommend the 20mm, but I would NOT recommend the 22mm version.
    The size of the holes on my 22mm watch are actually smaller than the holes on my 20mm strap. The molding process on the 22mm was also a bit sloppy and all the holes one the longer side of the strap have a bit of excess material in them. The holes on the 22mm strap do not seem to be proportional to the larger size of the 22mm strap and just don’t look right.
    The rubber on the 22mm also doesn’t feel as nice for some reason. I have the new version of the buckle which is a different style from the 20mm version and IMO doesn’t look as good (vintage) as the 20mm buckle.
    The 20mm strap really changes the look of my SARB 035/033 and I like how sporty they become.

    I got rid of mine and got a Watchgecko tropic strap instead. It’s much more comfortable. The Uncle Seiko’s rubber is too stiff. The Watchgecko rules!

      On average, I’m pretty sure I use the ZuluDiver/Gecko strap the most. It’s just fantastic right on receipt.

    I have 3 uncle Seiko rubber straps, the buckle on this type is the worst, too loose and I find it wants to come un-done !? They are all fitted to my turtles.The best one is the Waffle, even with the loose keeper i'd recommend it over the others.

    Be interesting to compare it to the 20mm Oris tropic provided on the Oris 65 40mm diver. I've heard the Oris is a little softer out of the box, but not so sure about the value for money there, it being SO much more expensive as an OEM option, than the one reviewed here. Defo consider this option for my Oris (which came with the bracelet btw).

    • @TakeTimewPatrickMarlett
      @TakeTimewPatrickMarlett  6 лет назад

      Yeahhh, that bracelet is impeccable man. I really love the riveted bracelets on that model. Also, 40mm was the right way to go.

    I believe the springbars he ships have the wide tips as well. if your watch doesn't use the large tips you should let him know so he can ship the fat springbars with the smaller tips.

    Thank you for the video. I was seriously considering this for my Orient Kamaso watch but noticed the over hang of the tongue on the strap which is a pet peeve of mine. The Barton has the stopper clip after the keeper on their straps which prevents this. Thanks again

    Great review. Glad to hear that these straps should soften up over time. I have one that I haven't worn much yet, just because it is so stiff. I'm used to the out-of the-box comfort of bracelets, so it sounds like I just need to be more patient. I definitely love the style of this strap for sure, and can also vouch that Larry seems like a great guy to deal with!

    • @TakeTimewPatrickMarlett
      @TakeTimewPatrickMarlett  6 лет назад +1

      Yeah, one trick to get it to conform better to your wrist is to simply have it attached to a watch head and wrapped around a case cushion/pillow. Give it a solid two weeks on the pillow and it'll begin to shape up. Mine fits perfectly now, both the 19mm and 22mm I own. I was also wearing them quite a bit during that period, so they began to form up along the contours of my wrist.

      It'd be great to have a Switch version, but the game may require too much of that hardware. If you ever do have a chance to sit down and play it, it's the best game in the series by far. I'm enjoying the heck out of it.
