It's really great to see the 19mm straps available from Uncle Seiko. It's a much less common size nowadays compared to the more typical 20 and 22 mm straps seen in most modern watches. I don't have any watches with 19 mm, but do have a 21 mm watch that has been a minor pain in finding a decent aftermarket replacement. I like the "suppleness" test: a PW exclusive!

I want to get a 22mm waffle strap for my SRP773. They have a blue one which would match nicely. I prefer having double keepers.
Glad to hear the 22mm is a little nicer in quality and doesn't require "conditioning" to make it wear better on the wrist as the smaller 19mm version does.
Although the stock Seiko rubber strap that comes with my Tuna SBBN033 is excellent quality, I find the single singed metal keeper "ok" for keeping the loose strap end in check and secure close to the rest of the watch band/strap. BUT, the area directly past the buckle tends to get a little loose and can pull the strap out of it's single keeper which is holding the end or "tongue" as some call it. If they had a 2nd keeper near the buckle, it would greatly improve the security of the loose strap end past the buckle.
I was looking for a loose signed metal keeper from Seiko to add to the rubber strap, but I don't think anyone makes one. IDK, if it peeves me enough, maybe I might just get a 22mm rubber one from a less expensive generic strap to add to the strap just to keep that area near the buckle more secure.
The tire strap is a nice alternative.. it does look a little nicer than the waffle in style, but hell, I know I'll probably end up with both sooner or later.

The "tropic" has a far better looking late 60's vibe to the 6105-8110 willard IMO - Then the waffle strap. 😎😎

Thanks for the review. I also have my 775 on the waffle strap and just ordered the olive drab variant. Not sure how the color will work but I hope it doesn’t look too odd. Keep up the reviews

Does the uncle seiko strap have fat spring bar tips like the original band? I know Hirsch are expensive but you should try one of their Pure rubber caoutchouc straps on the turtle watch. The black strap will match your dial nicely. Good review!

Just make my first purchase from Uncle Seiko. Very pleased. Bought a Tropic for my SNZH57. I do like the look of the Tire Tread strap for my SNZG15. PS: Looks like you hacked your watches as they are pretty close in seconds.

Properly Wound I'm probably going to be picking up the Pepsi version, I've just always preferred straps to bracelets on big watches.

According to the Uncle Seiko website the length is 80mm x 130mm. Is the 80mm with or without the buckle?

Hey, Patrick and Adam, I just found your videos and you've earned a new subscriber! Love the content especially for people like me who are new into watches.
Btw, I'm planning to buy my first "legit" dress watch and I'm thinking of a Tissot Carson Powermatic 80. What do you think of this watch ? if you have any other suggestion let me know, especially in gold or rose gold! Thank you.
    Best regards,
    Troy

Do you find the 22mm waffle strap has a little bit of play at the springbars?

The 20mm waffle would look great on my SBDC051! Is the new 20 mm as soft as the 22?

    • @larrybouligny4352
      @larrybouligny4352 7 лет назад

The 20mm is softer than the 19mm, but not as soft as the 22mm. However, I have only heard good things! :)

you can buy generic chinese ones on taobao for $10 that are almost identical and feel great. obviously uncle seikos are nicer, but four to times nicer? I bought one of each style and whichever I decide I like best I'm upgrading to the uncle seiko version, they are just too expensive to justify buying one of each, especially with the different color choices.

Supplety? Did you say supple-ty test?

I hate soft dark grey straps, soft is a downgrade. I like hard, plasticky, shiny, jet black fluorine rubber straps without ANY silicone added. So yeah...type one FTW
