    Just discovered your channel and although I've already watched a lot of videos from John, Adam and Kenny, it's always cool to see another way of doing the same things.
    Like the script to create a folder for the selected tracks. It's awesome

    But I like to have the bass track(s) and kick track(s) next to each other so it is easier to see that they are in sync.

    Hey, I loved the video, however I am confused between the Volume (Pre-FX)" knob and the "Volume (Item)" knob. Which one of the two is used to do gain staging or considered as the gain knob on reaper?

    • @LetsTalkAboutReaper
      @LetsTalkAboutReaper  6 месяцев назад +1

      You could use either or both. Volume pre-fx would give you an envelope to be able to vary the item volume over time, whereas the knob is a fixed setting for the entire clip/item.

    Love the video. Quick question regarding folders vs buses. I like the ability to collapse the folders, however, I imagine duplicating folders to perform parallel processing would be cumbersome. Using the drums as an example, would it be possible to create parallel drum buses and then put the buses and the individual drum channels into a folder? Ideally this would enable collapsing the drums while still parallel processing, and preventing needless track duplication? (I'm a novice, so this may be a naive question!)

    • @LetsTalkAboutReaper
      @LetsTalkAboutReaper  2 года назад

      you can nest folders in whatever ways you like, you just have to be careful to make sure to avoid unwanted nesting, if that makes sense. It can get a little tricky, so i like to have a bit of an indent to visually show me parent folders. that said, i tend to put all my parallel processing into an FX buss outside the instrument groups. There's no right or wrong way, so long as you don't create a feedback loop :)

    • @BSutes
      @BSutes 2 года назад +1

      @@LetsTalkAboutReaper Thanks for the reply. I'm not quite sure I understand the routing. You place your drum tracks in a folder, which gets sent to the master bus. How do you simultaneously send to an FX return track to do parralel compression/processing? Again, apologies for my naiveté.

    • @LetsTalkAboutReaper
      @LetsTalkAboutReaper  2 года назад +1

      I've got a couple of videos about parallel processing that may help explain a bit better. Lemme know if this does the trick, and if not, perhaps we can do a screen share of discord

    So far great tutorial! I down loaded sws but I don't have "create folder to contain selected tracks". I think I have a newer version then you did in this video. So with that being said what should I select in the actions list? Thanks!

    • @LetsTalkAboutReaper
      @LetsTalkAboutReaper  11 месяцев назад +1

      @@fpvtv2222 make folder to contain selected tracks is a different script that I got from reapack. I think I may have made a separate video for that script, I will take a look and see if I can locate the origin and get back with you

    • @LetsTalkAboutReaper
      @LetsTalkAboutReaper  11 месяцев назад +1

      @@fpvtv2222 it won't show up in the actions yet, you have to install the script from ReaPack.
      This should help
      ruclips.net/video/X8jZh7WyloM/видео.html
      I like this action better because it creates the top level folder. The native script you were using makes the first folder in the selection into the folder.
      It'll make sense when you see the video, just feels a bit more elegant and optimized to me
