  • Gutting and repacking of the stock mufflers on a 2015 Triumph Speed Triple.
    This is not a performance mod, it is only to alter the sound without altering the stock appearance.
    Attempt at your own risk.

    I just spent $1300 on new SC Project slip ons for my Triumph Speed Triple R 2016... might take my old ones out back and shoot them too!
    Great upload!

      The SC Project cans are a nice looking set. The old mufflers are a lot of fun to shoot, soft metal and little puffs of carbon dust on impact.

    Hey man . . . I was wondering what was inside these mufflers robbing the beautiful sound of this engine! No wonder . . . so many chambers, and twists inside! The guy who designed this should be arrested! HAHAHAHAH Back pressure much??? LOL Thanks for gutting them out! I used to have access to all these tools, but not anymore, so hard to do something like that now. But you saved me some wondering time! You maybe not be that great of a shooter (hahahahaha) but you are good with your metal skills! Thanks bud!

    This is excellent work - but I honestly don't think I'm ever going to warm to the sound of these Triumph triples. To my ear they always seem too whistley and whiney.

    • @brotherbanzai
      @brotherbanzai  7 лет назад +1

      Thanks. This particular one is a good bit different in person. I like them, sound a bit like a cross between a v twin and a straight 4 to me. The L twin on my Ducati was nice but a bit too thumpy and Harley-like and all my in-line 4's were more high pitched and whiny. To each his own.

    • @FrancoSattamini
      @FrancoSattamini 4 года назад

      The whistle comes from the cams, not the exhaust . . . I'm working on something to mitigate that! The exhaust sound is just deep and beautiful!

    Man thats so funny
    I have noticed often people with similar interests have more stuff in common too.
    I make knives too and hopefully do lots of swords in the future
    I also drive a daytona 675 in scorched yellow.
    and when you finally did pull the gun out, that really made me chuckle, cause I´m a gun nut too 😂😂
    Great content !

      Good luck with the knives and eventual swords, they're lots of fun. I traded the Speed Triple for a Daytona 675 a number of years ago, great bike. I got rid of the Daytona last year (too hard on my back) and currently have a couple KTM Dukes. Ride safe 😁

    Hey Brother nice job again, so what happened to the Ducati?

    • @brotherbanzai
      @brotherbanzai  7 лет назад

      Thanks. I sold the S4R and the ZX7R before I moved to the new location at the beginning of this year. Sad to see them go but I didn't want to have to haul them up here and wanted the funds to do work on the new place.

      I talk occasionally at the end of some of my videos, but it's more convenient to give explanations in writing in case someone is watching who doesn't speak English. Plus, I prefer the focus of the vids to be the work itself.

    Did you retune the bike after doing this?

    • @brotherbanzai
      @brotherbanzai  4 года назад +1

      I had the shop install the Arrow high mount tune when it went in for first service. Made a noticeable difference, but I traded it for a Daytona at a little over 1000 miles so I don't have a long term report. Planning on just getting a low mount for the Daytona and then getting a custom tune.

      I don't have an Instagram, not really interested in "social media" stuff. I traded the Speed Triple for a Daytona a few months ago. The Speedy was a bit big for our tight little hilly roads so I wanted something a bit smaller/lighter.
