Focusing solely on D2 will 100% revive the game. It will lead to new hires and longevity

Love D1 and still play it. Love D2 and love playing it. Disappointed I am not good enough to do some of the key things, like the dual armour marks.

27:00 This is inaccurate. Destiny makes them plenty of money. It was not making enough to subsidize all the other stuff they were trying to do at the same time. We were told point blank those other projects are the reason they are in this situation. Bungie is here despite Destiny, not because of it. It is true that it makes less now than it used to, which is consistent with them downscaling development costs. But killing outright? The doomposting I’m seeing around that is absurd. What sense does it make for a company to sever their only source of revenue before their next product is even out, much less confirmed to be successful and sustainable.

@Tu57htI really do wonder what goes through people’s heads when they start eulogizing the game. The company would be insolvent already if they were in a state that required them to shut down operations on the game entirely. No shade to Skarrow here cause I think his coverage has been mostly level headed, but a lot of other content creators are seriously not helping.

Regardless of the bad decisions they made, Bungie has been slowly losing players since D2 launched. So bad in fact, they were faced with the same situation when Curse of Osiris almost killed them. I'd estimate around a 500k loss of dedicated players between Shadowkeep and TFS. Every expansion sold less then the ones that came before it. You can't use concurrent player count as they also include free to play players. So while the expansions players will consider awesome like TFS, it just didn't sell. Introducing live service killed off casual players that were needed to financially support the game. No player retention at all. Gambit and PvP were left behind for most of the time D2 has been around. It's easy to blame the CEO, but for once, let's try and consider the fact that this was a team failure.

@@atiskiddLightfall literally broke concurrent player records and sales records, meaning it at least performed better than every DLC since Shadowkeep, the one that made Destiny F2P. Your conjecture makes no sense.

I quit weeks ago along with most of my friends. My clan of 80 was very active when TFS launched. Now, there's not enough online to get a raid going. Hopefully, Marathon doesn't bomb, and D3 is announced.
