This particular model with its twin turbo dhoc v8, was only made for less than 5 years, and was canceled in 2020 due to low sales and engine cost to manufacturer. In 2021 they switched to a supercharged v8 out of a corvette. Which was more power and less cost.
Man this Caddy is sweet! The size and power train are exactly what’s needed in Their lineup! Too bad GM wasted millions on R&D only to produce these engines for one model year….🤦♂️😒
And to be fair, the Corvette Z06's new LT6 engine is derived from this "LTA" Blackwing engine. But even the rumored turbo LT7 won't have a hot-v design, just external turbos.
@@theunknown-nj5so while the Blackwing v8 is the Northstar's successor it does not share any mechanical resemblance (clean-sheet design). That's why it's surprising to hear some Northstar tone in it.
At a GM dealership in Ottawa we had one of these gathering dust (even on the motor) for half a year. A guy that I heard was from Windsor came up and bought it just last week. There are two other vid's of this car on this youtube channel that indicate locations in Ottawa, and Manotic (just south of Ottawa). But this car has a licence plate bracket from Bennett Cadillac, which is in Cambridge, about an hour from Windsor. I hope it finds (or found) an appreciative owner. It was my "lottery dream", and I loved hearing it start up in our show room.
Which dealership do you work for?? Yes, I am from Ottawa but I went to Bennet to buy mine! So the bracket reads Bennet Cadillac! But the car is with me in Ottawa!
@@Jkalani2019 I'm a Lot Attendant at Surgenor. I currently own a beautiful 2017 Buick LaCrosse that I bought barely used (5700 km!) from our dealership. It's been my prize for 2 years now. But a gorgeous dark grey '17 CT6 has recently been traded in on an XT6. It has me awfully tempted to trade for that CT6. We even just got a used CT6 Hybrid which I didn't even know existed until I saw this one.
The car was unique because have its turbo setup. the "hot v setup" made the car have little to NO TURBO LAG. unfortunately it was too expensive to manufacture. it did not sell well. however it is hella fun to see it in action.
What a shame that GM didn’t see any need In continuing the development of the real Blackwing engine. The CT6 is what should have been the top of the pecking order at Cadillac. My guess is someone like Gale Banks could pull 750 hp and 700 ft-lb out of this engine, and with AWD and adapting the 10 speed this could have been a real bad machine. An opportunity lost IMHO. The CT6 had the size to be a true hipo executive sled, great interior with 4 bucket seats in the first year’s offering. Too bad. I have a CTS-V/2 and the only options ahead look like either the CT5 Blackwing or if Tesla is not lying, then the model S Plaid Plus. But this CT6-V if taken to its logical end could have been a high water mark for the marquee.
If it was a twin turbo 6.2 I would have got one. I went with a v in white. There was one in black but I had a v8 cutlass as a kid and wanted something old school. If I could afford both I would have two. We have 3 cts cars. Awd 2.0 for the daughter, v sport for my wife, and I have a v. It's a shame my car will be put up until spring.
This car is really understated! Wish Cadillac had really hyped this up for people! Production began and ended before the mass public even got to know of the car! 99% of the car people that I meet didn't even know CT6-V existed! Lol!
I have a CT6 V and I live in Southern California. I have not seen another one. Most people ask me when they see it what year is it and when did Cadillac make it. Its a beautiful car. A true rare unicorn. I'm glad that I own it!!!
