Is it me or does this basic training seem easier (or at least less stressful) than the others. Felt like I saw a lot more yelling in the army/marine boot camps. The encouragement from the instructors seemed a little more wholesome here lol
This is for the educated people who are lost less abuse and to gain a little more knowledge than you would in a regular Boot Camp. When they graduate and proceed they automatically gain a higher rank. That is my two cents or as much as I know but could be wrong.

The army as a whole has changed changed it’s training model to shift towards respecting candidates and the value that they bring to our professional force versus degrading them. You’ll see this in the business insider infantry osut training video as well. Some say it’s a step in the right direction in creating thinking/autonomous soldiers … who will eventually become positive leaders who create positive and non-toxic leadership environments. It’s all about setting an example for recruits of what good leadership looks like, and now the army thinks good leaders only yell at people with a purpose.
Hello 👋 Sir. How are you doing? Hope you are fine. I'm SStg Alexander vanscovk and am from Denver Colorado. Where are you from? You seem like a military man
It’s good to share army experience like myself; I had experience being in rotc, as a cadet, and experienced the basic camp in Fort Knox Kentucky. I decided to enlist into the army having to do BCT for 10 weeks I have to compare to rotc experience. I say the real army harder lol 😂 but a great experience I had. I have a high school friend who went through West Point, and he played football for them to, but anyones he had a great experience with them.
@@badabing8152 hey now my grammar is fine, I’m just responding to the video about West Point academy. Don’t need to talk to formal here, and try not to be so negative we are soldiers here Hooray!
We had to go easy this last summer while we were there. We were basically just teaching in a relaxed state I will say the the cadet cadre were the main discipline backbone.
Yeah no need for a formal talk but you’re in college now and will soon become an army officer (if you could make). So you should at least invest in your grammar when you type in your sentences. Because army officers will write/type a lot of paper works. And your habit of poorly written grammar will leave you without respect from your underlings.
People don’t realize how difficult these military academies are. If you are an athlete, you have to perform in your sport, maintain your grades at institutions that are basically Ivy League level and deal with your military commitments.
I mean ... they're not really Ivy League in academics ... they're more Penn State. BUT whereas Penn State students have only academics, cadets have drill, and mandatory sports, and cleaning/shining/preparing for military drill, and and and....
They are not basically Ivy. They portray themselves as such. There are community colleges that are more difficult. The difficulty is scaled by the person and their background.
8:30 remind me of a short were a soldier in training was told by the instructor “SNAP! Your entire platoon legs have been blown off! What are your doing?” And the trainee just lets out a high pitched scream
You’re incredibly waaaaay off on your stats. 120,000 do not apply every year and 10% of that is 12,000. There are 1,200 new cadets who arrive every year. You missed a comma.
Our weapons training in the Navy boot camp 1975 consisted of only 12 rounds of .22 ammunition at an indoor range. I hope it has changed since then. I was required to qualify on the Colt 45 for standing topside watch in port and received lots of training and followup practice at the Groton,Ct. Sub Base.
Interesting. Mine was a Beretta and a Mossberg 500. Great Lakes, October 10 to December 7 (Pearl Harbor 66th Anniversary), 2007. Glad to see a fellow Navy vet here. Now, I’m looking to go Warrant with the National Guard years from now. Cheers!
A lot of things are West Point specific besides the field training so that’s the difference between this and basic. But definitely easier because there are no drill sgts and they treat you like a human. Basically a sucky summer camp.
I have an idea for the boot camp series: Could we maybe get what training army privates go though in Britan? I think that would be kinda cool but that's just my opinion.
As a retired Soldier I look at these folks and I salute them for their choice to serve. But they are not pushed to the max like we were in BCT. I remember when we would receive them fresh from school. We had fun getting them ready to be able to take charge of a platoon . The best Officers were the ones who came from the enlisted ranks.
Eh, I'd say it's reasonable not to push students as far as people in BCT. There has to be a balance between pushing students and avoiding causing too many to quit. If too many quit due to boot camp you run the risk of losing some of the brightest minds in the US.
2:25 Just being curious, does anyone know what is the rank sign attached for this officer? Served US Army as KATUSA for year and a half and never seen a rank sign like that before... I mean CW2 should have smaller dots or am I missing something?
It is indeed inspiring how much effort is put in overcoming adversities, but it is at the same time depressing how much effort is put into "war" (conflict), it is felt as a waste of human lives...

@@Ross38436 The ultra intense boot camp you went through is an artifact of Vietnam specifically due to the draft. We don't have the draft now so it's no longer needed because everyone who's showed up to BCT NOW wants to be there. No need to beat them into submission anymore. If the draft comeback who know.
@koc988 it was just like it was in Vietnam or worse decades prior to the conflict. It serves it purpose and the taking away from it hurts the force, if you can't operate in hostile environments under intense stress, you're a liability to the mission, your unit and your buddies lmao
They do not have to treat them like the enlisted....these are people who were disciplined in HS and worked their asses off to maintain a near 4.0 GPA and a lot of them were over achievers who played HS sports and were in numerous clubs and societies....lets face it for anyone who has gone through enlisted boot camp many there were border line retards that even when they get to their occupational schools can barley pass.....you are comparing apples and oranges my little you tube friend...
Awesome people keep the United States of America safe!
Man. West Point was so much fun. I’d love to go back as a instructor.
How was your time there? Is it true people go there to be the leaders of the Army? Just like Annapolis for the Navy and the Air Force Academy?
So do it
@@attache675 no😂
@@attache675 just because you went to 4 years of college and a fancy school dosent make you a leader and a quality leader. You can improve leadership, but to take responsibility for your actions and be able to be disciplined enough to own up to everything you do as an officer and reflect on your mistakes and use those to direct a good path for the well-being of your men/women that you are held responsible for their lives and livelihoods isn’t something that gets taught by getting a A- in English class, but the context of your characteristics as a human being.

West Point has been prestigious for a reason!
Not really sure if they behave the same off camera.
@@legiran9564 very possible, a place as prestigious as West Point probably values a more refined image. Gotta make sure those politicians still want to send their kids there haha
@@gradypoole5366 yeah it’s an academy and you graduate as an officer instead of an enlisted rank Still very strenuous.

Looks intense in-front of cameras, but very chill without the cameras
To me that looked chill the whole time. Enlisteds go through hell while officers get treated like civilians
"Cadet Basic Training, or CBT"
oh boy i cant look at that abbreviation normally anymore
This sounds like summer camp. I wish they had this for civilians.
Fat camps?

After watching this I question how every officer I have seen can't read a map and we get lost
It's because there's no shiny flags for them to find.

Everyone knows it, we all hate it, but we confront it!
I have a high school friend who went through West Point, and he played football for them to, but anyones he had a great experience with them.
with grammar like this you'll no doubt fail.
@@badabing8152 👎👎👎
This video was dope much respect to them all 😂❤
People don’t realize how difficult these military academies are.
“Start screaming” i did the same thing playing war with my brother at nine
Good luck to them all. The first steps to a great journey of opportunity.
Call it what it is, proudly signing up for a socialist jobs program where you become a parasite on the taxpayers for the rest of your life.
8:30 remind me of a short were a soldier in training was told by the instructor “SNAP! Your entire platoon legs have been blown off! What are your doing?”
And the trainee just lets out a high pitched scream
You’re incredibly waaaaay off on your stats. 120,000 do not apply every year and 10% of that is 12,000. There are 1,200 new cadets who arrive every year. You missed a comma.
The number is off but you’re forgetting that not everyone makes it through basic training.
@@lMystikl that’s not the point of my statement.
I actually spent the summer of 2017 helping them train on this exact wall.

Cheers!
It's literally just regular boot camp but softer lol
A lot of things are West Point specific besides the field training so that’s the difference between this and basic. But definitely easier because there are no drill sgts and they treat you like a human. Basically a sucky summer camp.
@@flyingpenguin-cq8bh okay, but they didn't show one west point specific thing.

Can you do Army Warrant Officer Candidate School (WOCS) next?
It doesn't work like that.
Kudos to the US Army 🇺🇸

I can’t wait for more boot camp videos
I have an idea for the boot camp series: Could we maybe get what training army privates go though in Britan? I think that would be kinda cool but that's just my opinion.
"BOOM! You are now BLIND, and got a BROKEN ARM-- start screaming!"
this is how you know they're ready 😁
As a retired Soldier I look at these folks and I salute them for their choice to serve. But they are not pushed to the max like we were in BCT. I remember when we would receive them fresh from school. We had fun getting them ready to be able to take charge of a platoon . The best Officers were the ones who came from the enlisted ranks.
These videos are good but they don't show the full story all of these soldiers are being "nice" till the camera goes off

Eh, I'd say it's reasonable not to push students as far as people in BCT. There has to be a balance between pushing students and avoiding causing too many to quit. If too many quit due to boot camp you run the risk of losing some of the brightest minds in the US.

It's just a Cadet Leadership rank, not actually sworn into Active/Reserve component yet. He's part of the program, but in his 4th year most likely.
