    Abandoned & Forgotten Places
Documenting abandoned mines like never before!
Let's take abandoned mine exploring to the next level!
With your support you can help make this the best abandoned mine exploring channel on RUclips!
Shot entirely in 4K! ...so, turn up those video settings!
On this channel we go deep... REALLY DEEP into abandoned mines and tunnels all throughout the western United States. We researched some of the harder to find mines and hiked or 4x4 back into them to explore and reveal their hidden secrets. Many of these remote locations are filled with cool artifacts, antiques and unique geology that will have you guessing as to why the old prospectors worked so hard to find gold, silver, and other minerals.
A&FP moves just a bit slower as compared to other mine exploring channels. Gly discusses why the miners chose these sites and he points out the geology and minerals that got them excited. Veins of quartz filled with gold and silver made many men lose sleep in the 1800’s and early 1900’s and modern prospecting still does to this very day.
DANGERS? Oh yes, there’s allot of dangers associated with old mines. Un-exploded dynamite, blasting caps, bad air, bats, spiders, and snakes all find their home in abandoned mine shafts and tunnels. Oh, and let’s not forget rotting timbers, flooded passages and collapsing rock!
Gly takes abandoned mine exploring seriously with all the proper safety equipment, training, and experience necessary to do this activity as safe as possible but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a bit of fun along the way. “Gly”, your host and his band of crazy characters “Old Bob” (Gly’s Jeep), “Quackers” (Gly’s duck) and “Bobbie” (Gly’s hula girl) are sure to brighten your day with their comments and silly antics. Heck, they may even give you a chuckle or two.
Just like Saturday morning cartoons before the internet was invented, Abandoned and Forgotten Places uploads each Saturday at 7:00AM PST. (that’s 10:00AM for you eastern folks) so don’t forget to click that subscribe button and bell icon to receive notifications of new episodes!
Please LIKE, SHARE, SUBSCRIBE and COMMENT! All these things help grow our channel and your financial support helps us find new locations and helps put fuel into “Old Bobs” tank. Old Bob, thanks you!
Ok, now for the ugly stuff...
    WARNING
Abandoned mines and ruined structures have many hazards and can severely injure or even kill you. Do not attempt to copy or re-enact situations or scenarios seen in this video. Stay Out and Stay Alive: • Gly Says... STAY OUT S...

“Gly”: I produced this video before learning of Jeff’s father’s passing and even though I never met Roy Williams, I’ve always felt that he was similar in character to my own father. Let’s all take a moment to remember our fathers who have passed on, as they smile down upon us from the happy hunting grounds and heavenly hills full of gold. Please enjoy this tribute to Roy Williams: ruclips.net/video/5GSMOMXsPUM/видео.html

Cementing gypsum slows the rate at which cement hardens. The more gypsum, the slower Portland cement sets. It is also used as a fluxing agent for nickel ores as it is used to form a slag which floats on the molten metal or matte.

The drone video in the beginning is primo. I can say all I know about mining comes from channels like this one. Mines have become "real" and logical environments to me. Now when I look inside a computer hard drive or think about the elements contained in circuit chips and boards, I think about the folks ho had to dig this stuff out of the ground and how the Earth is truly a bountiful thing to call home. Thanks to all who brigs these videos to us.

That whole collar is incredible! It's sort of finger-jointed the whole way down, it all ties together just like a massive dynamite box. And the hidden genius behind it is that gap, looks like about an inch. No sacrifice in strength and every 12 gaps saves a 12 inch board.. It adds up. Thanks so much for this video, stay well.

Keith Jackson, I noticed that also, someone should fix it by nailing a board across under the one that has no support so that that ladder will not crack and someone could get killed or injured, looks like an easy fix.

Fun! I get that the extra time treasure hunting was partly because there was nothing else to explore, but it sure was fun to watch and you found some stuff you probably would have missed. Plus the deeper dive into Mr. Sullivan was really interesting. That was the date stamp you were looking for.

Some really cool stuff in this one. I loved the signatures on the wood. I notice how they all were written in cursive and not printed, just like they were taught back in the old days. Not only that, but I love the old history of our country and the mining days. Times had to be hard then, but they made it through just fine. I watch Jeff's channel also, and he really has a lot of good info and does some fun stuff also. I'm really sorry to hear about his Dad.

Love this video as I do all of you're videos. That skinny man way wasn't able to stop you or Randy. Great explore.
Gly, I believe I've mentioned that I recently moved to Winnemucca, Nevada and living in the desert off grid and loving it with the exception of the extreme heat we've had all summer.
We finally had a beautiful and cooler day to go exploring yesterday. My daughter, granddaughter and I got in my pickup and drove a short distance from where we live (daughter had been there before I moved here). There's a mountain across the way from me where there appears to be more than one adit (Not to worry, we didn't go near that one as it's too darn steep looking for this 64 year old mom and grandma) and we are actually rock hunting. We found some real beautiful pieces. We had been up the road further and again saw what appeared to be adits but as we walked closer we discovered they were maybe just test areas or something. They were very shallow and not hard rock. They're extremely crumbly and I cannot remember what you had called that stuff. The area is almost all that crumbly. I cannot imagine anyone trying to mine in that.

Not to make fun of your anguish and pain to make that 400 ft. ladder climb but watching you crawl out of that hole and passing out on the ground made me laugh for about 5 or ten min. I'm sure you weren't fully aware of what it would take to climb 400 ft of ladders and more power to you for this attempt. I have been living vicariously and humorously through you and Jeff W. these last two years and many thanks for that! 23:40 he really gave a good example of a fear micro expression lol. I don’t blame him, the thought of dying in a mine, especially suffocating, terrifies me.

That was hilarious at the end. U guys rock! Y'all looking for a date were moving so fast I couldn't keep up. Them drifts looked so promising, but then there was nothing, absolutely nothing. No ore, no really cool artifacts, no ghosts, just gypsum. Lmao with this one. That shaft was consteucted really well, just don't think they took much ore out. Looks like the miners put that shaft in yesterday. Take care and be good to one another.

great video gly , i was surprised at how old the mine was ,the effort going in to digging that shaft and timbering it out not to mention getting the timber up there in the 1st place only to find nothing those old boys must have been gutted and probably paid for there efforts in later life with ill health associated with mining

My uncle had the ranch at Lida about 40-50 miles south of Goldfield from the late 70s till 2001.
While walking across the coral one day I found a copper coin the size of a penny struck in 1908 by the McCann Drug and Mercantile of Goldfield.
