I haven't been to a mechanic in over a year. RUclips has shown me how to fix and replace my brakes, fuel pump and fan belt. It is teaching me the tin whistle. My lightening strike video was aired on TV news here in Ireland. It has expanded my mind, broadened my horizons and introduced me to new friends. It gives me a voice and feeds my imagination. It's helped me relive my childhood and plan for my future. The more I let it do, the more it does for me. And the more I want to do in return.
As a biologist who is also a breakdancer who has been following and studying the evolution of breakdance for a while now as well as the innovation power of the internet that he is talking about, I was extremely happy with this talk :)
This is so win. This is something e have all known about for the last couple years..well I have at least. Im glad to be a part of it :) 1,000,000 views almost, helped/inspired thousands of people make music. It has improved my life so much too! Its a great thing.
OMG I learned two things: 1. what 00:15 means; 2. that you can click the minutes and go directly to that point. It's like learning about TED while watching TED and I must be starting a parallel universe or something. @LKBM
This is the best channel on RUclips... but the videos don't get more then 50,000 views. Let's go people, tell your friends, let's get people subscribing and watching TEDtalks
@MusicMenacer some videos are made to shine a light on what is already there. you already know you use youtube, you already know everytime you want instructions on how to do some stuff or fix a bug on your smart phone or camputer, tie your tie, use a program and so many other things... you turn to youtube.... because so many things are easyer to explain and understand through video than writen words. a great shift has begone in how people learn and how information evolves.
After seeing this i realized what needs to happen, We the community need to start up and establish something, could be massive. could change the world... "EduTube". An online forum and Video source where we are both the teachers and the students. Make it so that if you want to learn you can learn, and if you want to teach you can teach. All Media is open as long as people are willing to take the time to post up the media.
RUclips lets me see talks like this one that are inspiring and beautiful enough to move me to tears.I haven't gotten up the courage to try to make one myself, but I get nudged just a bit every day.
Superb: One of the few videos I've shared on facebook etc. Powerful ideas: --crowd accelerated innovation --ecosystem of innovation --supplanting Gutenberg --biggest learning cycle in human history Not too shabby! . Small idea: use RUclips "video responses" as part of the "light" that Chris Anderson mentions. Is that done often? Often enough? .
I really like Chirs, i think he is a genius to create a vehicle to drive innovators and prosperity forward. I hope Chris will want to help humanity change in a positive way a ted per day!
The JJ and Jill he refers to at 2:42 are: J.J. Abrams (creator of Lost) Jill Bolte Taylor (a brain scientist who had a stroke). . Their Ted Talk videos can be found here: Abrams: ruclips.net/video/vpjVgF5JDq8/видео.html Taylor: ruclips.net/video/UyyjU8fzEYU/видео.html
I agree with you @chiciu This video crystalizes how important this and similar websites are, and how we shouldn't underestimate their power. It's not just about "biting Charlie's finger" videos!
@Kirbynessness They could remove the feature all together. That would stop it, on the flip side, it would probably be harder to try and find copyright violators.. which in my opinion wouldn't be a huge loss.
@WorldOfR3n0 - Check out lectures from Princeton University. They have some art lectures mixed into their online program. Also, many museums have great websites including videos. I saw some great stuff on Van Gogh and his work before visiting a local museum. The Louvre also has a huge website.
The RUclips audience has stated over and over that the intro is too loud. But that has been ignored by TED. Chris exaggerates the value of viewer feedback.
I agree with you @spanishprisoner I further think that even the most initially-uninformed crowd will eventually, on balance, gravitate toward excellence and surpass mediocrity.
TEDxPublic? TEDxDiscussion or TEDxSkype? Also, I think that the speakers should have the liberty, if they choose, to add whatever they want to the descriptions.
This condescending british smart guy is the striking portrait of this exclusive club of ted. You will never hear anything questioning seriously the political system HERE...
the medium is the message. as much as click-learn or open source ideas are abound people need a carrot on a stick to guide them. mystics(religion), government, and free market(capitalists) held the carrots and do not plan on letting go of the carrot anytime soon.
I have a problem with this because what people put on the web is there choice but the web keeping track of what private viewers watch and the viewer not knowing how secure our private there cyber work/ life truely is is very wrong. Who is really on the other side of the two way mirror. How can I trust a person working for you datamining will not have alterior illegal motives. The fact that this is not talked about and the obvious other side of the coin makes me know that there is a problem.
This is a great TedTalk. This guy is right about all this. Many brains are better than one. The net makes us all clairvoyant Borg. Resistance is futile. Subscribe to my channel to watch my RUclips-only animated sci-fi series. Coming soon.
@batfly stef has some good stuff but i'd be a bit wary of someone who wants to dictate how anarchy should work and how people should conduct their lives even down to specifics of how children should be disciplined. i listened to his weekend chat once and it was like a cult with people calling people trolls if they dared deviate from stef's box, and many were intent on getting stef to comment on what they should do in specific personal situations of their lives.

I've been following the evolution of guitarists on YT since I got here. (though not as frequent now, than earlier)

The talk was a little weak, but the message, everyone getting involved in the world community, is so TedTalks, and so full of potential.
Produce MORE....push until it breaks.....show the world that they can take care of themselves...awesome TED!!!
The same can be said about the printing press, but the benefits we get from great books far outweigh the wasted time created by bad ones
@MusicMenacer some videos are made to shine a light on what is already there.

Thanks Chris Anderson for everything you done for TED.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
-RUclips user
One of the most inspirational videos of my life. Thank you! I LOVE VIDEOS and using them to promote learning and engagement!

Beautiful and inspiring talk - thanks.

Pretty awsome. Even though i have seen this before, i still give it a thumbs up because the message is so awe-inspiring!!
i don't think every one is motivated purely by recognition. some people genuinely enjoy and are motivated by what they do for its own sake.
Why doesn't this have more views ?! This is not just inspiring, it is also a wonderful piece of social commentary.
Superb: One of the few videos I've shared on facebook etc.
Powerful ideas:
--crowd accelerated innovation
--ecosystem of innovation
--supplanting Gutenberg
--biggest learning cycle in human history
Not too shabby!
.
Small idea:
use RUclips "video responses" as part of the "light" that Chris Anderson mentions. Is that done often? Often enough?

Great spoke. Agreed. You are not only the teachers, you're the student as well. One can't progress without the other; they drive each other. IMO
TED Kibera - that's awesome and what are the potential of human good and innovation. I hope more for this ...
I think this is great. Thanks Chris. I so love watching TED speakers, I feel so inspired.
I like the Heart Beat sound in the end, like when we are inspired or something !! :)
one of the best TED talk's.
Thank you "Chris Anderson".
I study in oxford and I didn't know these talks were here. I know what i am going to find on google tomorrow - where these talks are
Addicted to RUclips for over half a decade :)
This is pretty much the talk I wanted to give in 2009... but back then the idea was crazy
I really like Chirs, i think he is a genius to create a vehicle to drive innovators and prosperity forward. I hope Chris will want to help humanity change in a positive way a ted per day!
I would love too see some talks about art, from classical to modern. That would be amazing
The JJ and Jill he refers to at 2:42 are:
J.J. Abrams (creator of Lost)
Jill Bolte Taylor (a brain scientist who had a stroke).
.
Their Ted Talk videos can be found here:

Taylor: ruclips.net/video/UyyjU8fzEYU/видео.html
Just brilliant.
TED is amazing and essential.
Seeing this talk especially, I cannot understand why TED is still not streamed in 720 and 1080p streams?
TEDx streams are regularly in HD.
Simply Inspiring...
Nice stuff as usual
Great talk, great message!
i cant believe this video has only 35k views! youtube should promote this!
@AbdulRButt Thanks for the encouragement.... This complaint has been there since years now....!
for you maybe. but not for my dad, and a whoooole lotta other peeps. so chill.
Oh the potential for glory in this planet!
knowledge is taking off to another level :)
Holy crap this is awesome and inspiring and full of hope and cool ideas!!!
I found out about TED through RUclips.
Great talk.
I agree with you @chiciu
This video crystalizes how important this and similar websites are, and how we shouldn't underestimate their power. It's not just about "biting Charlie's finger" videos!
I learned how to scratch build RC airplanes via RUclips. A similar revolution has taken place there!
very inspiring to say the least !
yeah..i run a fitness facility..all i do there..I learned from RUclips ..thanx RUclips
Great talk
Science and spirituality are coming together... Age of the good in bad times...
great video!
This is great i love TED videos !
@Kirbynessness They could remove the feature all together. That would stop it, on the flip side, it would probably be harder to try and find copyright violators.. which in my opinion wouldn't be a huge loss.
this talk is an old one that's been updated. I'm certain I've seen this before.
@Saesegral ...and I just found out about Khan Academy from you, Thank you Saesegral!
Thanks TED
@WorldOfR3n0 - Check out lectures from Princeton University. They have some art lectures mixed into their online program. Also, many museums have great websites including videos. I saw some great stuff on Van Gogh and his work before visiting a local museum. The Louvre also has a huge website.
@NerdyLiberal
IKR? I SWEAR I'VE SEEN THIS BEFORE. This must be a re-upload.
Really good talk. But I'm pretty sure I've already seen it before.
THE ONE THING TED NEVER LEARNS, IS TO TONE DOWN THE LOUD NOISE AT THE BEGINNING....!!!
Or the fact that you can listen to the talk without looking - I just shaved while listening to this.
The RUclips audience has stated over and over that the intro is too loud. But that has been ignored by TED. Chris exaggerates the value of viewer feedback.
I agree with you @spanishprisoner
I further think that even the most initially-uninformed crowd will eventually, on balance, gravitate toward excellence and surpass mediocrity.
imagine future teaching is developed with the i-net and if u can any question to the teacher u can skype with him :)
Overly aggressive Copyright is the impediment to Mr. Anderson's vision
RUclips tought me more history than 7 years of school ever did
Oh, hey, it's Ted talking!
TEDxPublic? TEDxDiscussion or TEDxSkype?
Also, I think that the speakers should have the liberty, if they choose, to add whatever they want to the descriptions.

@JonnyMacEachern Thanks.
wow. fascinating
I like TEDtalks a lot, except this one. There was nothing said that isn't already obvious to people who use the internet regularly.
the medium is the message. as much as click-learn or open source ideas are abound people need a carrot on a stick to guide them. mystics(religion), government, and free market(capitalists) held the carrots and do not plan on letting go of the carrot anytime soon.
I'm a guy who learned how to clean a bathroom on RUclips!
@JOSEtheHELPER means the good part of the video starts after 15 seconds
@JonnyMacEachern Exactly! Imagine dance moves copyrighted.
RUclips taught me about the power of evolution.
Let me start this off: 00:15
Is this an old talk? Looks really familiar.....
@LKBM thanks ;)
Hooray for the internet.
I have a problem with this because what people put on the web is there choice but the web keeping track of what private viewers watch and the viewer not knowing how secure our private there cyber work/ life truely is is very wrong. YAY this made my day
@nijamzzz do you know any other channels like TED?
why this look like it was filmed in 2002?
Nice
06:28 Charlie Sheen on the bottom left corner
Great!
If only yt would do something about false flagging and dmca abuse
I learned how to knit because of RUclips :D
Open source ted? here is I piece of code you might like :)
intro.volume = intro.volume -20000%
but awesome talk :P
RUclips taught me to change the oxygen sensor on a Saturn.
bellissimo!
@Apsu88 the point he is making is that this learning is being accelerated at a pace never seen before. But maybe you are just being a troll...
reminded me of Khan Akademy.
This is a great TedTalk. This guy is right about all this. Many brains are better than one. The net makes us all clairvoyant Borg.
Resistance is futile.

taught me how to tie a necktie.
TED cab talk the talk but can TED walk the walk ?
