Having met and sat with Alan at lindholm this year on a practice session. I can see why he wins so much. A gent and a superb angler. I remember him saying he's practicing his edge fishing as it wasn't his strongest way of fishing. (I wish I was half as good) cant thank them enough for inviting me to take a seat when I asked if he minded me standing back and watching him.
Love Alan’s theory on his tactics; even though he completely baffles me on pole fishing because it’s not my bag , but he is genuinely the icon of the angling world!
Sir Alan Scotthorne,ive seen this man empty a peg at Heronbrook, he weighed something like 230lbs on the Bridge Pool, I think it was peg 8, my Dad on peg 12 the venue master, say no more, this man can catch in a puddle, legend Sir Alan Scotthorme, BAE, (best angler ever).
All of Alan’s Drennan gear is suitable for top flight match fishing but still using Shimano reels. One thing we have never seen from Drennan; a top end reel ☹️

I'm always impressed by Alan's thoughtful, analytical approach. He explains what, how and also why. One of the great anglers.

I guess they reckon, with Shimano, Daiwa and others producing such excellent reels, that there's no point in reinventing the wheel.
Laurie Harper Probably right but with Alan on board now is the time. No better endorsement than a 5 time World Champion.
