    Do alot of people in your area install Weil Mclain? Have you installed any Mike? Where I used to work we installed alot the 97 plus was a good boiler

    I’m impressed. When I was taught to service these we never replace the gasket or refractory unless absolutely necessary. But this seems like a far superior maintance. Where do you get your replacement parts from?

    You should carry a 1/4 in ratchet and sockets to get in the tight spaces better. 👍🏻

    How did you market your company when you first started? Did you use angies list, or google reviews, or a bunch of lead services? I'm curious because I want to start my own roofing business but I heard a lot of those lead services are scams. Any suggestions ?

    doing this right now to mine. Glad for the video but very little information in the way of describing what you're doing through the process. Lot's of camera going all over the place, just no explanation of the various steps. Could've done a lot better.

    See if Navien just outlined misc gaskets to be replaced in a certain interval like this company. However ridiculous . It would be less likely to be fully at fault .

  • @ThatEMOguy74
    @ThatEMOguy74 3 года назад +4

    That's ridiculous you have to do that every single year That's a lot of money there.

      @@PipeDoctor a navien The annual service is just run cleaner through the key exchanger and clean the filter which a homeowner can do if they're that type of person and you don't have to disassemble the whole thing unlike that weil McLain. How much did that serve this cost roughly with parts and labor?

      Maintenance on the Lochinvar Noble is very straightforward and easy. Lots of room to work inside the cabinet.

      That’s the problem with some of these high efficiency systems. Any money you save on energy costs is lost due to the high cost of maintenance and repair.

    • @NChirikos

      I paid $300 for a maintenance service plus $80 for service kit. The guy screwed my system up and would up having to replace one relay. Now I do it myself. Also had to replace my blower assembly ($510) after 8 years.

    Hey can anyone tell me: Why would I as a consumer choose a condensing fire tube boiler over a condensing water tube boiler? For example the Navien NFB vs. NHB boilers

    • @arseniym3185
      @arseniym3185 3 года назад +2

      Excellent question. Generally speaking water tube heat exchangers have higher head (more resistance to flow), and therefore in most cases must
      be plumbed primary/secondary. They also don't generally have much water in the heat exchanger making them more susceptible to various undesirable conditions like flash boil -- this could potentially crack the heat exchanger. Comparing NHB vs NFB if you look at specs, NHB goes down to 8 kbtu/h where NFB-175 for example only goes down to 17.5 kbtu/h which is more than double. So each has their own uses. A lot depends on how a house is zoned. Ideally your smallest zone should be able to emit the minimum firing rate of the boiler (at condensing temps). Otherwise it will short-cycle the boiler leading to its untimely demise.

      @@PipeDoctor Mike, it's your own fault, you got me interested in this when you visited me and offered NCB-240e, AND you said that even though the thing is rated for 95% efficiency, in reality you'll only get about 88%. So engineer in me thought: WTF??? So I started learning. You created a MONSTER!!!
