And if it takes 7+ minutes to determine a firing solution how do you stop an inferentry charge. They would be gone by the time you got set. I would in this day and age One would do 2 clicks an a map 1 where on the map the mortar is and 2 where the target is. 3 dial it in 4 drop a couple 5 adjust 6 fire for effect. all done in less than 30 seconds.
Artillery has never been used to stop infantry charges even back when they used cannons and muskets. That simply isn't what the weapon is useful for. In fact, the reason the machine gun was invented in the first place was to deal with advancing groups of infantry despite the fact artillery and mortars already existed.
@@Einhart how you account for the factors of wind, air pressure, air temperature, humidity, Elevation of the howitzer Elevation of target ,Coriolis effect
I didnt know there were simulators out there that the average joe could use. This is cool but also kinda scary to think that you can learn how to operate an extremely powerful, accurate and lethal heavy weapon system pretty much off public knowledge. I was a mortarman in the marines and to think that someone could potentially self-train enough to become somewhat effective... thats a scary thought.
was looking for real life but that will do it
This the same stuff I was teached in military mortar specialist course
When he called 1390 I was waiting for him to drop rounds on OP1.
