lyrics:
With her high starched collar and her high topped shoes
And her hair piled high upon her head
She went to find a jolly hour on the trolley
And she found my heart instead
With my light brown derby and my bright green tie
I was quite the lonesomest of men
I started to yen so I counted to ten
Then I counted to ten again
Clang, clang, clang went the trolley
Ding, ding, ding went the bell
Zing, zing, zing went my heart strings
For the moment I saw her I fell
Chug, chug, chug went the motor
Thump, thump, thump went the brake
Thump, thump, thump went my heart strings
When she smiled I could feel the car shake
I tipped my hat, I took a seat
I said I hoped I hadn't stepped upon her feet
"Say, what's your name?", I lost my breath
She looked so lovely that it scared me half to death
Oh, buzz, buzz, buzz went the buzzer
Pop, pop, pop went the wheels
Stop, stop, stop went my heart strings
As she started to go then I started to know how it feels
When the universe reels
I tipped my hat, I took a seat
I said I hoped I hadn't stepped upon her feet
I asked her name, then lost my breath
She looked so lovely that it scared me half to death
Oh, buzz, buzz, buzz went the buzzer
Pop, pop, pop went the wheels
Stop, stop, stop went my heart strings
As she started to leave I took hold of her sleeve with my hand
And as if it were planned
She stayed on with me and it was grand just to stand
With her hand holding mine to the end of the line
End of the line
The end of the line Видеоклипы
This is peak Judy right here. I don't think she looked any more beautiful in any film. I can make myself cry tears of joy when I imagine her voice, it really was angelic
I totally agree... just amazing :)
Till the clouds roll by also?
Nah, Wizard of Oz for me
The Trolley Song is one of, if not, the best vocal arrangements of a song ever .
The pirate
It breaks my heart each time I see Judy. She was so mistreated by Hollywood. They chewed her up and spat her out. She was such a beautiful person with a killer of a voice. I wish she got to live a happy and fulfilled life!
I absolutely LOVE Judy Garland!!! I grew up watching her. I still remember watching her sing this song as a kid, and it still makes me feel good!!!
I think the same thing.
All the dirty old men who ran the company .
And me. Judy Garland is and always will be a legend x
Yesss
I always thought Judy was beautiful . It gets me so mad how they exploited her in every way and made her feel ugly . She was beautiful. Everyone in her life failed her and ruined her . She never stood a chance .
Unreasonable that they thought she was ugly. Were they blind? She was fantastic! Stunning. Gorgeous and beyond talented.
I corrupted my niece when she was little and got her hooked on musicals......now she sings these songs and makes her mother nuts.....she is17 and a lifelong fan of the movie classics.
Michael Tate I love musicals
thus is Mr. Greg Terkington?
Michael Tate you are an amazing woman and aunt😂😁
I hope I can corrupt my niece that way!
Thank you for being an evil genius.
Nothing brought me here, I just love Judy
❤🙌🏻
Rip hollywood Icon we love you! Now you sit with the stars
She gobbled
That is pure talent that can't be studied or learned. That comes from the inside...
To keep the voice at this level of tonal purity and full timbre, it requires training and lots and lots and lots of practice.
One needs a naturally dulcet voice, in most cases, but breathing techniques and expansion practice are skills one learns and practices.
I’m talking hours a day of practice (with a couple days off/week or you can stress the vocal cords.)
Judy Garland had a beautiful voice and a talent for pitch, but she did have training. And tons of practice.
@@JaimeMesChiens I was referring more to her acting.
Made in 1944 - The great days of Hollywood - Beautifully written, masterfully created and Judy Garland - it just doesn't get any better than this! What a song! What a time!
Leighton Charles Studio England yeah but Hollywood also drugged her up ultimately leading to her death
yeah what a great time. world war 2 was raging and she was being completely manipulated... bring those days back eh
This always makes me cry such an innocent performance
Clang clang clang went Josh Hawley
Poke, owe me a coke. 😜
The new Judy film brought me here in September 2019 ...I can’t wait to see the film this wknd.
I was actually kinda disappointed in that movie. It didn't really seem to go anywhere.
RANDY RAINBOW BROUGHT ME HERE!

Extra Credits!
@@michaelsali6721 hell yeah!
Has ANY performer, in any medium, ever possessed the effortless command of music and acting that Judy had IN HER TEENS? Take a look at her body language at any point in this classic number; her fluidity and grace would do credit to any dancer on earth.
One of my favorite scenes.... The song... The black velvet dress....the light blue gloves and the over exaggerated lace.... Amazing
A wonderful song performed perfectly by Judy Garland.
Randy Rainbow led me here
Randy Rainbow brought me here
This Tune in my Head brought me here! :D

Bart: ''Don't worry dad, we'll be dead in 5 minutes''
"Not fast enough!"
XGavinWX XD
*sighs in relief*
This is the only reason I’m here lmfao
The worst part is it wasn't even a very bad rendition
Judy Garland said filming this movie was one of the happiest times of her life for it was the only time she ever felt beautiful
i love this movie
huge fan of Mrs. Judy garland
One of the Best Movies of all time. Plus she did this in on take amazing although you can tell that this must have been a time MGM had her pumped on Uppers she's pretty thin for her normal frame, Her Family should still take MGM to Court and sue them for what they did to her , I mean she started there at around 13 and to put a kid on uppers and downers for the sake of making $$ is pretty sick.
What movie is this I always loved her music and I love her in wizard of oz and I have never seen meet me in St. Louis
@CJ carp is that true?
I miss oldies music like this... today's music is monotone and lacking the heart & soul...
Niki Wonoto there are still people that sing oldie songs they just don't hit the top charts anymore
Such a beautiful lady. It’s so sad that her life was so tragic
Judy Garland will always be an icon and legend . We miss you Judy xx
Happy 100th birthday in 2022 x
❤❤💐🍾

Will and grace, American dad, Simpson’s, none of these things brought me. What did bring me here was when it dawned on me this song was used in Tom and Jerry, and I love finding references like these in those cartoons!
Tammy is sharing this music video featuring Judy Garland singing the "Trolley Song". Very appropriate for the Treasure Coast Trolley fans! Thanks Tammy!
Judy Garland will always be best known as Dorothy and of course the song Over the Rainbow

That bit where it sounds like someone shouts "Hiya Judy!" (actually Hiya Johnny), she gives such an adorable little acknowledgement with her eyes, I wish it really had been Hiya Judy as I had thought it was when I first heard it. 🥰
A gem from yesteryear.

Why don't Americans sing like this anymore?
Things change my friend a leaf changes people change cultures change :) We can move on. But! :D my dear we never have to forget ;) never forget ;)
There are plenty of showtunes that sound like this nowadays. Just not on top40.
Cause They Suck,Australians Like I, Sing Like This Still.
Americans are into rap and singers calling women Bitches and THOTS and whores. Things sure have changed for the worse
@@tavodupre-lpz6749 It's almost like cultures and societies change over time. Or perhaps we should be all be just so aghast that men are going out without their powdered wigs, or complain that there's simply no way to catch a blackface minstrel show anymore.
Just to think Judy was 21 in this movie, her voice was outstanding, sounded like it would've belonged to a 40 something year old which made her a very talented unique individual. I always thought Judy Garland was beautiful, all of the critics can burn in hell.
Josh Begandy and the head of MGM used to call her his “hunchback”. She was super self conscious about her appearance and the MGM executive (owner), exploited that and destroyed her self esteem knowing that she had a great voice, but she’s never be a “pin- up model”... part of the reason she became heavily involved in drugs and alcohol... that and they basically forced them to take drugs
@@dratelectasis I dont understand that, she wasnt even hunchbacked🤨. Unless that was just a euphemism for calling her ugly. She wasnt even that though either.
Don't forget there is a cosmetic appliance on her nose bridge and caps on her teeth. The MGM makeup department along with terrific lighting and a wonderful director could make anyone look amazing. There is no denying her singing/acting talent but let's be real .. her appearance had been "enhanced".
Sure wish my appearance was enhanced lol.
Sex and the City movie brought me here...new years eve when carrie was home eating noodles...I was like "wow...cool song.."

Zing, when the heartstrings of my heart
Yes! Using this for my grade 5 musical theatre exam so this is helping with my acting part
Just a heads up: In celebration of its 75th year anniversary. this movie is going to be released to theaters nation-wide on Sunday Dec. 8 and Wed. Dec. 11. Just Google Fathom Events Meet Me In St Louis for more info.
