    Great race and awesome driving! It's especially nice to see how the The Vector stays at most a few seconds behind you at all times, so it seems to be a really well-matched race.

      Thank you! Yeah, it got a bit sketchy on laps 10-11 when I made some mistakes that cost a couple seconds and gave the M12 enough time to catch up. It's very demanding driving a car like this on a track with so many elevation changes, you need to drive near-perfectly to keep the lead.

    Very consistent driving, just eye candy.
    Solid defense game since lap 7 all the way up to tyre change. I'm not sure it'd be possible to outperform the Vector with the same setup without blocking it. This is where your skill is showcased.
    Also that unauthorized departure at 25:16

      Thank you! Hehe, it's funny because I'd say that my driving was really sketchy leading up to the first pit stop. I had trouble adjusting to the tyre wear, and lost about 2 seconds per lap on laps 10 and 11 because of it. I guess I did manage to successfully fend off the Vector though, yeah. Ah, yeah, I tried to avoid the yeet chicane because the car can spin out easily there, but I had no choice but to go for it that time. Thankfully it wasn't catastrophic and the car had a smooth landing. I'll take the 2-second penalty, I suppose.

    Nice skill and driving! 👏
    The MX-5 C spec can get maximum 339hp, but nah! You nailed it with only 249hp !! 👌🏻

      Thank you! I wanted to make it an entertaining race, so I tried to find the least amount of power the car could feasibly win with. Winning with 249hp was a grind because it meant I had to rely on driving as cleanly as possible to win, but I'm glad it paid off.

    I don’t think ppl realize how op this car actually is, Miata-C Spec and Toms Angel T01 carried me thru the game

    Nice video. I have a playlist with this M12 race. The tunning part helps a lot.

    Funny how I beat that race with same car. But on 1.1, so easy mode. Glad that my Miata could do it!

    I've been watching the GT4 guide again, and i've been thinking
    You know a lot about these games and you probably know which car is good and which is bad from the top of your head
    Why not make a tierlist of the higher power and notable cars in Gran turismo 4?
    Cars like the LMP's, the concept cars, the exceptionally good ordinary road cars, cars that either should have been so much better or that such so so much, cars that are just really cool or noteworthy to mention. Obviously, going through 800 cars, most of which are just boring vehicles for ordinary people wouldnt be interesting, but i gave several categories of cars you could touch on
    I'd be really interested to hear your explanations why a certain car is really good, or why another should have been so much better according to its real world counterpart, or maybe its bugged, and so its just underwhelming as hell

      Hehe, that's hilarious, I was just thinking over the past couple days about making a 'late-game race car' tier list, for GTWC and Extreme Events. Guess it's good to know that at least one person would be interested in that.
      The problem I have though is, I don't want to half-ass it, I want to make sure I do the proper research so each car is fairly represented. That involves tuning each car, and while I've made settings for most of the LMP's already, I've still plenty more to do.
      At the top level, half of what makes a car good or bad is its weight balance and how quickly it wears its front tyres. Front tyre wear defines how long the car can stay on the track before pitting; it's usually out of your control while tuning, as putting hard tyres on front will make the car much more difficult to turn.
      If the fronts wear fast, it usually means there's not enough weight at the rear too, which hurts corner exit traction with hard rear tyres when you're driving cars with 700ftlb+ of torque. You're then forced to add a big ballast to the rear, which requires lowering the front downforce to balance the car and hurting overall car performance. The CLK-GTR in particular really struggles because of this. Rear tyre wear is easier to solve, as you can just lengthen the gears or adjust the rear ballast so the tyres aren't being overworked.
      The other half is stuff like downforce (eg. the Vertigo only getting 25 / 30 downforce compared to the LMP standard of 63 / 88), the torque curve at low-RPM's, and the car's general weight and acceleration. A lot of factors to consider, basically.

    is there a pal conversion for the car settings

    • @TeaKanji
      @TeaKanji  Год назад

      I tested the tune on PAL 25 FPS and it runs pretty much the same, so no extra adjustments should be needed. If you're powering up the car beyond 249hp, you'll probably need to lower the final gear to around 3.400 or so.

    How do you play with the music muted?

    • @TeaKanji
      @TeaKanji  Год назад +1

      I got used to it after a while, and honestly, I find it difficult to listen to music while playing GT these days (besides some ambient background music or something). The lack of music makes it a bit easier to listen to the car's engine, so I know exactly when to gear up.

    Is this on an emulator, and if so which one?

    • @TeaKanji
      @TeaKanji  Год назад +1

      Yeah, this is DuckStation, with 1080p upscaling and a code that enables 60 FPS. If you use the NTSC 1.2 version of the game, there's a bunch of graphics-enhancing codes you can enable to make the game look really nice, eg. 16:9 and increased draw distance.

    Nice one, i did not get how are you made it without major mistakes on a RWD car. With that high skill level of yours and a lighter car with more power you can set a lap time below 1:22, or even 1:20. Wanna lap that Vector, twice.

    • @TeaKanji
      @TeaKanji  Год назад

      Thank you! I'd say the key settings to make the car stable were the rear springs, ride height and front camber, along with hours of practice so I could do that opening section consistently. Lapping the Vector, hehe, now there's an interesting challenge. Maybe it might be possible on original FPS with the Concept Car if it pits twice.

    • @jpegjared
      @jpegjared 8 месяцев назад

      When you learn to tune your cars and dial in suspension and ride height your car will be planted to the road. Only time I had issues with keeping my car on the road was when I drove MR Vehicles and gave it a little bit too much power.

      @@jpegjared on any rwd car on that track i have an issue with 90° turn after downhill at sector 3. It lead to an important straight where you must go full trottle. If you have a bad exit off that turn it can add a few seconds to current lap and next one. I try to use a downhill before turn to increase grip on entrance to brake and steer more efficient, but looks like it moves weight away from rear axle and front wheels go into a turn and rear ones - straight into the wall. So my FWD civic 3 door '93 is a fastest car on that event. Controls also can be an issue cus i'm playing on phone.
