I don’t buy this narrative at all Palmer came on and did very well but we had Palmer play in most of the friendly games and he didn’t offer anything special. We had Gordon - Kane - Palmer - Foden and lost to Iceland. Also the recency bias is crazy, Bellingham has had a poor 2 games, and Foden was OK the last 2, however the best performance by far has been Bellingham in the first game. He practically carried us. He was everywhere. Don’t forget that. Stop playing Bellingham LW and he will do that again for you. And Saka RW is fine, let him fight it out with Palmer if you want, they both offer something different but I would rather still play Saka in the bigger games. He’s turned up for England many times. Sorting out the left and side and Foden deciding not to be a LW and Trippier offering nothing is more important than this Palmer game changer myth. .
