in 1975 i was 12. The first time i heard that song i dreamed that one day i could play it and not just on air guitar. Using your video, my dream WILL come true. Thanks.
ACE ... what can one say about him, except, he was the true CHAMPION of KISS! He and Peter were the backbone of the group! For the time, ACE was one of the most revered rock guitarists ... way before players like EVH ever made his name known. As basic as his style was, he played with true feel and his playing was spot on for what KISS was, a real Guitar based Rock band. I use a lot of his style in my own playing and writing because it preserves the integrity and emotion of what Rock guitar was meant to be, RAW and POWERFUL. And you Sir, are a frickin' Guitar GOD yourself! Awesome playing / tone and thanks for breaking down these classic tunes.
sounds great man! i love the original 3 records of course,(especially Dressed To Kill),but Alive! really set those songs on fire with it's hard edged versions.and Eddie Kramer! love your sound/tone on this one!
Wow John, you really nail this song man.Always like to watch you play it.Exceptional recording. So much cool lead and hard changes in this killer Kiss song. You do it great justice.
Damn this song is all over the place, it would be almost impossible to perfect this but you did pretty good. Definitely not perfect but better than most people could do playing this song.
That's a toggle switch for each of the pickups ... You turn off the other pickups with their volume knobs so you get that stuttering effect of on and off and on and off etc etc ... it's really quite cool, the first time I ever heard it used was back in 76 when I first got this very album as a kid

It actually baffles me...are you playing all those riffs by ear? I'm a decent rhythm player, struggling to break into lead work :(
Thanks! I do own a Marshall JCM2000, but I was using an Eleven Rack on this one.. They sound almost like the real thing.
