You are the real OG! Player! I've been lost trying to find that damn castle! At first I thought this game was crap after beating the OG Castlevania, but you get hooked to it. It is shame it wasn't polished
I got this game from my Mum when I was a lad. Around 7 or so and I could never figure out what the hell to do. And I was pretty decent at Nintendo. This game is just vague as hell. Either way. Thanks for this. I've been grinding hard on this game the last two days (Castlevania Collection - Xbox One) and I don't have the patience to wander around trying to find Dracula's Castle. I really enjoy and appreciate now that I'm older the RPG aspects of this game, but it feels to me that Konami tried to do too much with this game and really missed the mark for a lot of fans.
It puts you in a dead end if you go there without the 5 pieces of Dracula. Why would you think to go back later in the game. This game is so cryptic lol
Play testing wasn't as big a deal back then - you didn't have dedicated testers I think. And teams were much smaller, so more likely to overlook questions like "so what do we do then when they have to go back?" after someone says "hey, make sure that if they get here without all of dracula's parts that they don't actually get to fight him until they do
They fucked all the endings pictures and text, they got swaped. And to get the different endings, you must pass the game within less than 7 days (game time) to get the best ending according to the AVGN

I’ve never passed this game but with this video I was able to. I got a different ending tho it was in black & white & Simon lived
