    I will be honest, I have a 13700K and 4090 and I found your graphics video a couple months ago to miss the mark on quite a few things. However, this is just the opposite. You absolutely, 1000% nailed it and it IS repeatable every single time. I've tested this close to a dozen times using RTSS frametime graph and the stuttering with anything iRacing related (primarily the UI is what gets power throttled) consistently and repeatably causes stuttering. I am a scientist and know how to test a hypothesis. Thank you for discovering this!

    THANK YOU! I’ve been battling this intermittent issue ever since I began iRacing and it’s almost never discussed on reddit or anywhere else. It stops just long enough for me to think I’ve solved it then returned. For me the video quits, but audio and ffb continues. I’ve ruined my races, and others countless times. Hopefully this will be the fix I need!

    Absolutely agree with undervolting. I started doing it when I got a 3080 and quickly realized I got higher and more consistent GPU clocks. I think a lot of people think undervolt is only relevant when their temps are too high. With GPU boost the cooler the card is the better it will boost.

    Hi as stuttering can really have different faces, it would be good is you say what exactly was happening to you. Were you getting microstutters that damagw feeling of smooth gameplay? It doesnt matter 60 120 or 165 FPS - with microstutters it all time feeles slow, feels like 30FPS. iRacing for me is really stuttering game, its stuttering engine in my opinion. Can you compare to AC1 or Automobilista2 and say is your iRacing anywhere close with smoothness to those titles?

    Had an iRacing stuttering issue for two weeks after upgrading video drivers. Turns out while my triple monitors were set at the proper refresh rate of 165hz, my HDMI fourth monitor was not set to 144hz (it's preferred refresh rate). Rather it was at a default of 60hz which caused the issue. Setting the fourth monitor to 144hz fixed everything. Note to self - don't do a custom installation when upgrading video drivers. Choose the express installation option instead.
    I immediately created a backup image of the system to restore from in the event of a similar problem in the future.

      Is there a problem if your alternate monitor's refresh rate just differs a lot from your main monitors?

    • @mrb552
      @mrb552 2 месяца назад

      @@chuckystang Shouldn't be an issue. Just make sure that the alternate monitor is set to it's max refresh rate in the Nvidia (for example) control panel. My HDMI 4th monitor runs at 144hz but it got reset to default 60hz after a custom upgrade of new drivers which removes existing drivers settings and appears to install the newer drivers with all their default factory settings.

      I own you one, buddy. Apparently I had the same issue with my fourth HDMI monitor. Set the refresh rate to max and iracing is smooth as silk again so far (knocks on wood). So your solution is much appreciated!

    One thing I did on my system where I had constant micro stuttering, the higher the FPS shown in the counter the lower it actually felt like in game EG 180FPS felt like 30FPS, literally. I researched it and researched it and never came across anyone else that tried what I did.
    I discovered that when ever the RGB in my case was set to multicolour like rainbow it would cause me stuttering. I made everything static single colour or just off, and haven't had any micro stuttering for weeks now, the only time I had it happening again was when I did the Spa 24 hour race with the rain, but other than that, it's smoother than ever before. For reference I have iCue and Aura Sync controlling my RGB. My next PC for the rig will be RGB free if I can help it.
    Do encounter massive stutters once in a while though like anywhere between a freeze time of 1 to 5 seconds (fatal on track). Yet to figure that one out, will try some of these you've mentioned.

  • @yigitonayli

    Even though I tried everything, I couldn't fix the stuttering problem. The system is installed on powerful hardware such as 13900KS, 4090, 64 gb 6000 mhz ram and all my drivers are up to date. And I am using a 170 Hz 1440p triple monitor setup. I changed the display cables. I tried the game on Windows 10. I undervolted the processor. I tried it with Nvidia surround and without Nvidia surround. I have a regulator that stabilizes the electricity of my house at 220W. Even though I tested many times in many settings, I could not fix the stuttering problem. I saw that there was no stuttering only when I run the game on a single screen. In this case, there were two solutions that came to my mind. The first is to change my motherboard and processor and switch to AMD. The second is to use a single, large ultrawide monitor. what do you think? What do you recommend ? There are almost no resources on the stuttering problem. That's why I'm asking for help here. Thanks a lot.

    Great video ! I was trying to under volt my GPU with MSI afterburner but after doing that, OBS (GAME capture) is no longer working. I use OBS on the same machine for my sim racing. Does this happen to you too? After a reboot and not using msi afterburner OBS works perfect again with game capture.

    using win10 - (I found you can add the power throttleing colunm, by right clicking the columns and adding it!) This could be huge - can't believe no one else ever found or mentioned this - great catch man...
    and Thanks for the video! It was my impression that undervolting your card or CPU will allow you to hit good clock speeds, without overheating BUT i didn't think clock speeds or high frame rates, on thier own would fix studdering issues.... Not saying it doesn't because there are a million and one reasons why studdering happens....
    Could it just be INTEL and thier new architecture that is failing you?

    Can someone explain to me, how the performance setting for the iRacing UI, which is minimized in the background, can affect the performance of the iRacing Simulator, which is already running without power throttling?
    If anything, I'd expect the performance of the Sim to regress, since the system now needs to take care of another (useless) task with high priority. The same goes for the Racelabs UI. I would assume the 4 different tasks in the list below to be related to the actual overlays. Again, the system now needs to handle an additional, irrelevant task with high(er) priority and the total performance should be worse.
    Please do some poper (repated) A/B testing to proof these points. Otherwise I'm putting them into the "snake oil" category.

    • @McFamily86
      @McFamily86 25 дней назад

      You can put them in whatever category you want but I’ve A/B tested this a half dozen times with a 13700k / 4090 on a single screen and it absolutely causes my stuttering issue to be resolved.
      UPDATE: Just tested it 2 more times and 1000% power throttling of the UI causes stuttering on my system. Clearly visible in RTSS frametime and clearly repeatable.
