I’m actually laughing when you said that the conclusion of the doll with all the issues, ‘protective services shows up to see why she gets all the broken bones’! That was a true laugh worthy statement!!
I’m 70 years old and had that exact Barbie game. It was one of my favorites! Flashback to the good old days. ❤️
I had one too! My grandmother sent me this game in the early 60's for Christmas one year! I loved it!!
Me, too. Got it for Christmas in '60 or '61. My friends and I played it over and over. Part of it was ending up with the Prom date of your choice which you hoped would be Ken but not Poindexter. The Poindexter in my real life ended up working at Lucasfilm. So there, Ken!
Me too. No date for Poindexter 😂
I also remember not wanting to get Poindexter as my date! If it is like real life, Poindexter was probably the one who grew up to be a doctor or successful in some other career. lol. I think that Tom was pretty cute from what I remember if you couldn't get Ken. I still have my game somewhere, but the cover is different. I got it in the mid-1960s.
Classic
The Banana Splits was a late 60/early 70's American TV show. But we had it screened on Saturday mornings in Britain and it achieved cult status. I think anything involving it would be collectable.
La la la la la la la la la la la la la la
Looking back on it those guys had to be smoking some good stuff to come up with the craziness of Banana Splits.
One banana two banana three banana four 🎶
Born in the late 80s I only know it from being referred to in popular culture as being absolutely absurd.
loved the banana splits
The dolly glasses are for when she has measles. Bright light is painful during measles
Thank you I was wondering about that too
I thought eventually she got black eyes too and had to hide them. LOL
I had to stay in dimly lit rooms
I remember having to spend days in the dark. It wasn't fun.
I remember having to stay in a dark room and wear sunglasses when I had measles.
I guess "Marybel the Doll that Gets Well" sounded better than "Marybel, the Sickly, Accident Prone Child". Guess that was a toy for budding young nurses.
When I saw the Banana Splits viewmaster slide in there I immediately started humming the theme song. Amazing what gets stored in our brains that comes out in random moments.
Doll wore sunglasses to protect her eyes during the measles.
A doll with crutches and casts, just the thing to encourage your daughter to become a nurse (or doctor). There was a thing about dolls not representing disabled people a few years back and Barbie and the My Generation or American Girl now have wheelchairs and crutches etc. so perhaps that doll was ahead of her time.
When I was a child, many moons ago, me and my sisters had one of those baby dolls with the cut out clothes and I still remember it with such fondness. I think of it often.
I love your content. I wish the episodes were longer. You are so knowledgeable and I could watch for hours.
The sun glasses for the doll that gets well are for when she has the measles. Eyes get very sensitive to light with measles. Yes, I am that old. I remember having measles as a child and wearing sunglasses.
23:42 The Banana Splits is a great animation series from 1968-70. It's goofy so Alexander should love it! It featured four furry, mascot-sized members of a fictional rock band called the Banana Splits - Fleegle the beagle, Bingo the ape, Drooper the lion and Snorky the elephant - who sang silly songs and took goofy trips to amusement parks.
Loved the banana splits we watch it on one of the first TV sets in our town some time had to put blue cellophane paper over the front because it was so what we call snow that we could not see it properly 🤣
I watched it in the ‘80’s as it was screened here in the U.K. I’d actually forgotten about it until now 😂 lol memory unlocked
They had funky sunglasses
Great treasures. Almost spat out my coffee at your child service's joke for the doll that keeps breaking bones. Another great video thank you Alex.
You had me in stitches again!!🤣🤣🤣With the doll that got sick and the child services doll that came around to check on the parents!😂😂🤣
You found a lot of amazing items in these boxes! Wow,such cool stuff!😍🥰
Omg…I remember the banana splits!! That brought back some memories! By the way,I am 66 and live in The Netherlands and we did have that show..omg!! That’s such a fantastic memory! Thank you for that,Alex..🥹
Everything you find,is neat❣️🙏🏻🥰
I’m glad you liked it :)
The Banana Splits were classic! Yes, Alex, I remember watching them! Hanna Barbera! They were a rock band! OMG! Their theme song is suddenly running thru my head!
I can sleep well knowing Pinky the Clown has all his parts...lol.
Thanks for entertaining us, Alex. ♡
Waiting for the next episode is almost as exciting as the 'hoarder house' series with all the pottery. I anxiously awaited each and every notification on that one.
But old toys ? ...this is too exciting. lol
I can't believe you haven't yet invested in a system of filming your goodies and adventures, that allows you to work with two hands. =)))
Alex, you're currently my most consistently favourite channel. Keep on doing you, you're making the world easier to be in. :) Blessing to your family.
Amen to that♥️
Nice
Hi Alex the doll with the leg cast had some sunglasses , it could be they were for eye protection when she had measles as I remember tears ago when my baby had it I was told to keep her out of the sun for that very reason .
Best wishes from Suffolk England .
Fleegle the beagle, Bingo the ape, Drooper the lion and Snorky the elephant. Such a fun and corny show. The Tr la la song. Good memories
I loved those Big Little Books when I was a kid. I used to have several of them.
The Big Little Books that my grandmother had, as I remember, had these great little cartoons on each page and when you flipped the upper right-hand corner of the pages, one after the other, the cartoon would come to life and the cartoon figures would move. I never hear Alexander talk about that part of the Big Little Books that he finds. Maybe they didn't all have the cartoons?
@@bluebird1239 the books I had did not have those type of cartoons
I had some from the late 1940’s to the early 1950’s! They had the cartoon on the corner!
I love watching you play with toys....🥰🥰🥰🥰
The Banana Splits were amazing! Best theme song ever!!
Alex, thanks for taking me back to my wonderful childhood days! The Marybel Doll That Gets Well was a favorite toy of mine in the late 1950's to early 1960's! It is a doll that I have wanted in my collection for many years. I really enjoy watching all your videos!
I hope you get the winning bid at auction!
"Boxes full of shh...schtuff" Nice save!
This is really fun watching you go through these boxes. Thanks for making me laugh with your corny jokes. Never stop your humor you make our day.🙂
Dad jokes😄
I like these toys that feels chunky yet workable in the hands? What awesome toys they must have had in the past, this feels amazing to watch.
I received the Marybel doll for Christmas in1960. She is a Madame Alexander doll. I still have her in the original box just like you have.
Can't wait for episode 3!!! This was a Great Episode!!!! It brought back a lot of my childhood memories!!! I can't wait to see when the viewfinder and slides especially if it's Disney slides goes on the auction to bid on!! Everything else was extremely wonderful to see!! Thank you Alex for always being a very positive person and making my day every time you put out a video!!!
Oh my gosh I had that fisher price castle when I was a super little kid!!!! Wow. I haven’t seen one of those in 45 years I bet! Now we need to see the Weebles haunted mansion!
I watched the Banana Splits in the 70’s as a little girl… it was a thing😆
Alex, the sick to well doll was marketed to sick kids that were often in quarantine. The sunglasses were for the measles as it causes high sensitivity to light. Similar dolls are still used at sick kids' hospitals and hospices.
You wore sunglasses when you had measles to protect your eyes from light. I remember my mother putting blankets over the windows to keep the light out. Said bright light would damage our eyes
I was just going to comment about my mom putting blankets over my bedroom windows when I had the measles too.

My eyeballs about fell out when I saw that Barbie game. And then it's factory sealed?! HOLY COW
Got to let my friends in the online Disney Community know about this one. Looks like there’s going to be some interesting items for them to ponder about. Heck, I wouldn’t mind some of these either. 😁. Lots of really neat things in this video. That wood speed boat brought back the memories. I used to attend a Camp here in Ontario that the CNIB ran outside of Parry Sound on Lake St. Joseph. I went for the Teen Week. Anyway...One year, the Antique Motor Boat Club of Ontario was having a Meeting in the area & decided to bring some of the boats up & give us rides in them. Those things ran soooo smooth out in the water. Smoothest boat ride I’ve ever had. Needless to say, they were all gorgeous & IIRC, many of them were Cedar. That was a pretty amazing day & thanks for bringing it back. 😊
That Barbie game....I can see a literal fight over that one. Especially in the condition it’s in. Barbie Collectors can be pretty intense & for something so rare to be found in such amazing condition... You’re lucky this Auction’s online because if not, there could’ve very well been blood shed over that thing.
This one really does have a little bit of everything, doesn’t it? Loving watching all of the discoveries. Thanks again for sharing w/us & Take Care!! 😊
you rummage around old dusty boxes as a job and your awesome love what you do. tresure
It is pretty fun :)
The toy with the round body was called a Roly Poly when I was a kid.
Boomer here… just WOW!
❤❤❤❤
There was a time in the mid 50s when every little girl wanted a 'bride doll'. In fact, I still have mine, along with some of her clothes.
That get well doll brought back memories of constantly getting sick in the late 40's early 50's . Measles, mumps, chickenpox. Plus the dreaded Polio. luckily did not have that but lots of scary news when I was growing up. Interesting I could see a young kid relating to that doll.
I’m not sure if I had that Fisher Price Castle set, or if it just looks so familiar because the other stuff I had was so similar.
I can almost smell the memories. Ahh, to grow up in the 1970s and 1980s. Best decades ever!
That Fischer-Price castle is like the one I got for my kids. Memories!
I'm just here for the Dad Jokes and Bad Puns. As usual, you delivered! ❤
This was so much fun! Loving everything old in these boxes! 😊😊😊
The Banana Splits were incredible!!!
I love Alex’s corny jokes, because of his reaction to them!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣PS Marybel doll has a wellness check by the Child Protection Service’s doll. I am DEAD🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I had that fisher price castle set! I chewed on the dragon, I remember the green tips of his scales were a bit rubbery and were fun to chew. 😳
The tail was, too
The Banana Splits was, indeed, my favorite show.
The CPS worker joke was pretty funny.
I love watching the unboxing videos to see of I have any of the old toys. It's neat to see the older toys too. This time my brother and I actually had the castle when were young. I loved the banana splits, we used to watch them Saturday morning. Maybe just an American show.
I love the FP castle So cool!
The Banana Splits are from the late 1960’s and it was a cool fun show on Saturday mornings! It was not a horror or horrible show at all! They would go to the beach in a van of fun flowered Jeep! With surf boards & funky sun glasses
I’m loving these old toys. Its hard to believe that the toys I played with in the late 50’s or early 60’s are so collectable now. They do look old. Really, really old. I can still remember being jealous when my little brother got a Popeye record for his birthday. And I managed to eventually land the very first Barbie after a friends mother felt sorry for me and it was a gift on my 5th birthday. My mom said she was not going to have that freakish looking doll laying naked and headless in the hallway of her house. She was wrong. Lol. Thank god some kids took better care of their toys.
Mystery in every box...love it...
Love the way Alex is relatively gentle with things he finds that may have value and just tosses the other things on the table even if he doesn’t mention what he thinks of them
If its worth the dollar it gets care if not--------------- into the pile.
For what it’s worth , I love your corny remarks. The best one today was about the early ymca. That was great . My father , who is now deceased, and I use tell each other corny jokes or remarks a lot . I’ve past it down to my kids and they to theirs . Lol. It was a good ,it brought up a lot of memories with my dad . Thanks for sharing.
The Banana Splits show was on in the US from 1968 to 1970 and was possibly the result of a bad acid trip. I remember seeing it in reruns in the 70s as a child and picked up on the druggy references as an adult.
I love the excitement of you finding new treasures
I hope you get top dollar on everything !!
the yellow plastic box is the elevator to a barbies dream house.
That bright Yellow box at the beginning is the elevator to a 1970's Barbie's Dream house in case you find the rest of it.
Banana Splits was on in the late 60’s. I belonged to the fan club. I remember loving that show. However, a few years ago I watched part of an episode and wondered why! Lol. Mostly, the show was introducing cartoons.
I just love watching your videos when you're going 1st though and your funny voice says you're vague and the characters that you try to sound like it's funny And I have to admit some of the stuff I've never seen before
I think people often wore sunglasses when they had the measles because of light sensitivity. When my mother had them as a child they just kept her in a darkened bedroom a lot.
I loved "The Banana Splits" as well as HR Puffinstuff LOL
I loved Romper Room ❤️
I had and wore out that talking view master. The disk had the voices on it.The banana splits was a good show, and I can remember the theme show.
I owned that red & white boat. Many voyages in my bathtub. the Banana Splits was a great show! One banana, two banana, three banana more.... My husband can still sing the theme song 🤪
Omg if I lived close to you I would offer to come work for you for free on this haul just to be able to see all this cool stuff up close! Great finds Alex!
The marybell doll is made by madame Alexander
I remember playing with a bear just like that one at my grandparents house. I watched the Banana Splits when I was in school. It was a Saturday morning cartoon.
I can still sing the theme song to The Banana Splits. It was a great kids show in the US in the late 70’s-early 80’s. Very cool toy collection!!!
You wear sunglasses when you have measles
Pit!!!!!!!!!! Great 60s fun!!!
Hello Alex good to see you.please pass my hello to Melissa and your beautiful kids too.👍🌺🌈🦋💖❤️😊😘🙏🏻from Edith in cairns Queensland Australia 🇦🇺.
My Grandmother had the Charles McCarthy car when we were kids it was wind up his head would spin. Worth alot of money now.
Oh I loved the castle set as a kid!!!
Banana Splits were awesome, tra la la la la la la....
Thanks Alex!
Alex, yes, I just said that out loud to my self, banana spits…. THAT was my favourite show…..haha🎉, loving it 🥰 from Australia 🇦🇺 thank you!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
They were slap stick fun characters. The show was teamed up with Jimmy and the magic flute and witchy poo who tried to steal the flute! haha! Fun memories :)
It would figure that a tortoise shell which I personally think is horrible that somebody would have or take just like elephant husks that it should be among some very scary looking clowns. I do like clowns but happy clowns is better!!! Thanks Alex for doing this it brought back some of my childhood and yes I am a 53 year old female and a lot of these toys were things I had just not the scary clowns
So many of those toys I recognize from me and my siblings playing with them as children. I feel so old
My viewmaster predates GAF's. It was one of the last models produced by Sawyer's in the mid 1960s. I'm 60, and it's the only childhood toy I have left.
We watched Banana Splits every Saturday morning! We thought it was hilarious.
The Marybel doll comments Alex made were hilarious!!
The fun never ends!
My youngest brother was born in 1970 and he got the FP Castle for Christmas as a toddler. My oldest son is 4 years younger than him and all my children and nieces and nephews played with it. When my mom passed in 1996 they still had it, but my dad discarded it at some point afterward.
6:00 "the surprises you find in boxes of shhhhhstuff lol"
This looks like the way moving company wraps things They just go in a room and wrap things together even trash cans and ash trays unemptied.
Yes, I get that impression too. People who couldn't tell trash from treasure just wrapped everything.
Cool finds, as always. Love the FP Castle!
Love the toys. The jalopy was fun!
The Barbie game!! I keep saying OH MY GOD
These are my earliest memories of toys in my home. ☮️💜✨ fun
The Banana Splits were hilarious! You must look them up and then you can add a lot more “voices” to your repertoire!
The sunglasses were worn when you had the measles. I had to stay in a dark room and wear sunglasses when I had them in the 50s.
Seeing a notification for a Curiosity inc video always makes my day! I love anything Barbie related, I had all of the first few Barbies. My sister made clothes for her and I spent countless hours "playing Barbie". But my favorite things were probably paper dolls & coloring books, and you even had a paper doll in this video! No wonder so few survived. I'd love to come across old McCalls magazines with Betsy McCall still intact inside. Looking forward to the next installment!
Appreciate you watching!
I’d love to buy the Mrs. Beasley doll! She was my favorite
Me too!!! Mine was lost.. We moved around a lot when I was little.. so assuming it got lost somewhere along the lines. Although my little sister swears it was her doll.. It wasn't!! :)
Man you found a good score. Way to go my friend.
The get well doll. The sunglasses were part of having measles. When I was a kid with measles, we had to wear dark glasses to protect our eyes. I cant remember details.
The Banana Splits was before your time!, lol. 1970’s Saturday Morning shows!!
I used to watch the Banana Sp!its every Sat am! HR Puf n Stuff also! 😁
