- The bridge is out, and we can't find the highway sales anymore. Fortunately, Xeno says he knows a great antiquing stop nearby that I haven't seen, out in the middle of nowhere. I'm intrigued!
In a once-abandoned 1920s schoolhouse, Irish Acres Gallery looms by a country road near Versailles, Kentucky...and it's full of things that might be just as home in its palatial French namesake! This place is amazing, a vast emporium of real antiques and valued vintage that offers a feast for the eyes--and a lot of great old things we haven't seen in years.
From the elegant foyer to the graciously overstuffed anterooms, this place offers a step into an opulent past that stands ready to furnish future graceful homes. Italian chandeliers, gilded pier mirrors and highly carved mahogany cabinets are festooned with Nippon and Old Paris vase sets, Murano perfume bottles and many other tremendous examples of elegant antique decorative pieces. Waylande Gregory pottery, quality Blenko glass and vibrant oil paintings accent room after room filled with painted French furniture, 1880s music boxes, American Gothic revival pieces, even a room full of artist bronzes and studio pottery!
This is a great place to explore and learn hands on about things they have in abundance here that we rarely see in antique stores today; and when we need a break, our gracious hosts treat us to their trademark 'Nonesuch Kiss' ice cream dessert in their Glitz Restaurant, a gleaming underground eatery with incredible atmosphere in a once dusty basement! Irish Acres is the achievement of a half-century of antique trading, and we're so grateful to get to see a store of this caliber with true antiques that mostly are only seen in private collections.

My grandson is getting married in July and off course there are lots of showers etc. I’m attending the Bride/Bridesmaids luncheon in July at The Glitz. After watching your video I’m pretty excited about it!
I am speechless! I have never seen such an exquisite collection. I’m in California and I know these high-end antiques never made it this far west.
This may be my favorite video of yours to date.
I would get lost in that building. In the morning they would wonder what the big lump in the middle of one of the beds was.
Loved the show. I could watch it again. I wish you could have spent the whole day filming. This is the type of antique’s I love to see. Thank you so much.
Just stunning!!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience as you toured this "Opulent Vintage Emporium." It is so wonderful to see antiques items as they were meant to be placed. I loved every room!!! Thank you to the owners for embracing history and preserving these grand items for others to enjoy.
Would never have expected a place this big with this many high end antiques to be in Kentucky, but it’s once again a lesson of never judge a place you’ve never been! Thank you for showing us this George and xeno!
May be the most spectacular antique shop I have ever seen. So much inventory! Delightful video. Thanks, George!
I just love seeing the Ephraim pottery as well as the Blenko goblets! Thank you George.
This was so beautiful. I’ll bet Selena, the Vintage Bombshell, would love looking in this place!!
What an amazing place! I think my jaw was on the floor the whole time. Thanks for taking us along.
Oh my, the eye candy. Fantastic things.
wow! so glad you came out my way to do a video on this beautiful place, I've never been there but now I can not wait to go see this place for myself!
So many beautiful things. Thank you for taking us along.
Had to comment immediately on the mirrored piece with the carved birds!! Dear Lord🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🌟🌟
I know, right?
This was absolutely fascinating. I’ve never seen anyplace like it. Will put it on my list for a trip to KY! Thank you so much sharing this wonderful emporium.
Wow fancy store and beautiful furniture and glass
Oh my oh my oh my...and a restaurant downstairs,,,that was amazing...I LOVED IT,,,I could not sleep and now i really may not lol...thank you so much..
What a fantastic tour of this stunning place. Absolutely loved the variety and gorgeous chandeliers. The furniture pieces were so amazing. Your knowledge is beyond impressive. Thanks so much for sharing and exploring.
I'd love it if you went through this place again just concentrating on the art. I'd love to see what they have and prices : ) Thank you for the tour.
Thank you so very much !!!
Wow. I'll be watching this again. So much to see. TY So much❤

Wow George; and in Versailles as well!!!
This video was awesome. What a gorgeous place for a wedding, anniversary lunch. Stunning....
The best showroom, ever!
A feast for the eyes indeed
WOW, I think I need napkins to wipe my chin lol. Most of this stuff is so very BEAUTIFUL and glitzy, I love it. Thanks for showing me this place I will have to make a special trip to see this one. I am in AWE over some of the gorgeous furniture. That Mahogany bedroom set, I have one but nothing like that one. You have a wonderful day
Hello from Beach Park Illinois
What a treat!!! Thank you so much for sharing. I am putting this on my list of places to visit!
Puttin' On The Glitz! Amazing!
It sure was a big surprise to me! I'd have dressed better
@@TheAntiqueNomad great place for romance or a small party.
Thoroughly enjoyed this video. Thanks so much.
You are so right George. It's almost impossible to find so many finely made beautiful items in one location to buy from. Yes, it was a feast for the eyes. Thank you for taking us all along.
Thanks George
I enjoy your videos because you take the time to educate. Thank you for your comment on resellers complaining about cost. Some feel they are entitled to all the favors. Comments about not picking something up because they don’t “want to deal with the shipping” are almost on par and turns me off most RUclipsrs.
Remember to share George's fun videos ! 😊
Loved this video! Hope you do get a store like that someday! I will be your best window shopper 😊
Thanks George!
Great video George! Thanks for sharing!
wow!!!! Such beautiful things!!!!!
👍🇨🇦🤗
Hi George
Thank you so much for sharing. I love opulence, right down to the Victorian? lamps. I'm sure you could have a shop if you wanted. You certainly have the knowledge and are generous to pass it along to us. Hope you purchased something for yourself. Cat
Spectacular!!!
What a fabulous place! I would love to go on one of those miles long yard sales, but it's way too far away. I'll keep plugging along with this estate sale.....
Freaking breathtaking!!
Spectacular!!
Frame 26:06 That blanket/throw in black & white reminds me of " Razzle Dazzle ". It was a war time optical allusion of black & white patterns.
Wowza! I'd love to stumble upon this place.
With a few credit cards that is.
Finally a store that has a few old Parlor Lamp like mine that I need to get appraised.
Behind Zeno holding ladies spittoon. 5:25
So funny you two wearing t-shirts at 🌟 'The Glitz' 🌟
eating sundaes.
Very cute! 😋
I hope you have more video of this magnificent store.
I'd love to see more.
Thanks so much for sharing your visit guys.
Aloha for now. ♡🐬
I felt VERY underdressed in that place! It is a fantastic store and was so fun to see. I like that parlor lamp very much btw
Hello!
Hello!
Oh my! What a treat this place must have been to visit! Xeno you did not lead George astray at all. I would try to hold myself to avoid the bull in a China shop fable!!!
Its so hard to pick a favorite piece. But i do appreciate the blend of styles, artists and time periods.
Laura.. It was the most wonderful place wasn’t it !
@@elderlypoodle9181 hi Poodle! I hated missing the live but my honey is working out of town so live with him comes first!
Really an incredible selection!!
My kind of place!!!!!!!
I’m sure I would have tried a pinch between the cheek and gums had I lived then. It’s still on my bucket list. This was an epic place to look at. I wanted the electric candelabra. I enjoy you both
I enjoy you too! Keep sending the cool things you spot online, they often make me laugh
Your phrasing is delightful to listen too
I want that ashtray! 😍 I just looked for one online and only found one listed on Chairish for $150.
Wow that's not cheap but they do get good stuff!
Hello there..I love watching your videos..I love to run a store like this here in the Philippines...
That was fun. Would you both ever go to France to treasure hunt?
Fans of George, please share his videos. He has almost 60K subscribers 🎉

Hi George I am confused a bit by the prices on the items you highlighted. I have been watching Abells auctions every Thursday as I recover from surgery. The owner of this auction house happen to live across the street from me and he has been kind enough to bring anything I bid on delivered. He gets big prices for some of his stuff but what he says does not sell are all the things shown in this episode. Large old wood furniture is price 100-400. Even beautiful French armoires he tells me are worthless. Could you address regional differences it prices. Have you ever considered loading up a truck from California to Kentucky.
You have to realize where this is located and the caliber of homes, estates and horse farms/operations in the area. This is the land of horse racing royalty, the sport of kings. Lots of “old money” including princes and sheiks from other continents have purchased land and run breeding operations. The equestrian world is a whole other planet. The Lexington area has some of the most beautiful topography and homes in US.
George was the music nox one that you could change the barrel to play different songs?
Yes I think it has four cylinders
@@TheAntiqueNomad I always thought those were so clever..
Hope you ate there too.
If I had one millionth of what’s in your brain ….le sigh.❤😂The word for this video is Sumptuous ❤
All I’ve retained is horrible Web MD diagnosis 😎
My first episode. 🎁❤️🫶. I loved it. Thank you and Hello from London Ontario Canada 🇨🇦👋👋
Burn8ng off t he wax from the ceramic piece is similar to the function of wax when creating a cloth design!
I want ed in Collins horse purse
George have we seen your favorite piece yet?
Hi there! Thanks so much for the super chat and the question. I had a hard time deciding in there, I really liked so many things that would'nt fit in my house, like giant pier mirrors and such...I still think the music box was my favorite because of the sound
@@TheAntiqueNomad I tend to favor the smaller collectibles and all blown glass. I saw the video where you showed the items your mom collected. I loved it! You also gave her some lovely pieces. I would love to find a Holt Howard in the wild someday. Take care!
@@Fabfliplady I hope you do! I Like Holt Howard a lot.

I quit subscribing until you stop supporting Goodwill. Goodwill rips off those it was supposed to help. Your support helps them fill the pocket of the CEO.
I’m not really sure what you’re coming from, given that this isn’t a Goodwill video. If you watch all my videos with Goodwills, you’ll get a much more nuanced idea of my opinion about them. I shop at thrift stores to support myself, first and foremost. I stopped donating to Goodwill as discussed in a video from Florida. So you’ll have to form your own conclusion, but I’m willing to say when a Goodwill region is being fair and when I think otherwise.
George are you receiving my five dollars in cash app each month
I could see you owning and operating an antique store exactly like that! Perfect for you😊
Maybe one day!
Hi George and Xeno. Thank you once again for sharing interesting and unique vintage and antique pieces and a bit of their history. Looks like a fun side find.
What a joyful place to visit beauty everywhere & ending with a great dessert that was a good day for sure George! Thanks for bring us with you.
Thank you George and Xeno, what a delicious Treasure Trove. We need a part 2, just learning about history and hearing your comments was fabulous! Safe travels, see you soon! Candy D
Our pleasure! I hope to get there for a part two sometime
It's almost more museum than antique mall 😮
Stunning pieces! Thanks for sharing so much. 🥰🥰
What beautiful pieces. Just a pleasant walk through, and lovely objects to see.
No one has a bigger feather in cap than George
What an absolutely beautiful antique store, so we’ll put together!
What an amazing place!! Such gorgeous pieces! TY for sharing!!
WOW! What a gorgeous shop. I'm jealous.
Love the gothic revival furniture!
The teal ashtray was a striking piece
Beautiful, my goodness. My favorite was the English-American mission influenced glass cabinet, and the Waylande bowl. Swoon. And I do love me some big ass fancy gold mirrors!
Xeno chawing whilst modeling the spittoon made me guffaw aloud! 😂
I know me too!
Wow, just wow. I never imagined such an antique store existed. I wonder if I could have afforded one of those three velvet strawberry pincushions in the first part of the video. Thank you. I think I'll have to watch this one more than once.
I love Xeno's spittoon pose ! LOL. That shop is very impressive, so many gorgeous items
Serious eye candy. Love this video. Thank you!
Great video George! Thanks for sharing!
Just wonderful. Thanks so much
Wow lots of beautiful antique pieces.
George, I want to live there. Great video. Sorry your not feeling well. I got sick on the end of our trip. Just now getting over it. Wishing a speedy recovery.
Sorry to hear that! I hope it was mainly great
Impressive! Reminds me of my Grandmother’s home. We are lucky to have a few of her pieces in the family.
George that was absolutely brilliant!!!!!
