It appears that the man loves no one, not even his poor kids. I can appreciate you having to make this terrible personal decision to part ways with him and his following. I do understand. Thanks for this. I am from FWBC. My son was saved and baptized by the church. My life was drastically changed by Anderson's bold preaching. I quit my job almost 10 years ago, after my husband and I had 2 more children. We decided I should school our then 10 year old and stay home with the littles. We read more, prayed more, "cleaned house" and tried hard to be better Christians. We had courage to get friends and family saved. We even lost very good friends; as people found out where we went to church. I try to submit to my husband and my Husband tries hard to be the leader (even though neither of us had these behaviors modeled by our own parent(s)). We learned a lot.
But I cannot support Steven Anderson any longer. 4/4 adults have come forward: they aren't just some unruly kids. 2 of them are married, and one even has his own child. I have to respect these "kids" as men. I'd never want my man to hit me for sins I make. He isnt God, nor does he want to be. My heart aches for Zsu.... I've seen women bloodied. It's not for anyone. I wonder how much of her cruelty towards the children is a result of the beatings she receives first. The Man sets the tone for the home.
Finally, the doxing was what broke me. Asking people to even go after his sister in law was so cruel... it Breaks my heart. But I must move where the Spirit leads me. God's answer sometimes is No.

Pastor Steve believed that he was in the place of God. He ruled over and tortured his wife, his children. He has pushed God aside for himself and taught that God will help others in their sins, but his fruits in his private life was destroying his children and in turn his wife, who then took it out on the babies and the children. Whatever is perceived of his works they did not come from a heart of goodness but from him exalting himself. Did Steve ever ask for forgiveness from his children or his wife, if he did not he was trying by the flesh to gain the appearance of godliness, without having the Holy Spirit to guide. We cannot do it by ourselves
that’s why we have our Savior, Steve rebelled against the Holy Spirit, the spirit that changes us to have God’s character. If we can not be humbled we are left to our sinful selves, and we destroy ourselves. He and his wife and his remaining children need help, this is a dangerous situation for all of them. He who is capable of such violence against those he professes to love and protect is like a loaded pistol.

This is what happens when you are involved in a personality cult. In this guy’s statement he’s far more concerned about Anderson’s feelings than the damage he’s done to others close to him. The warning signs have been clearly evident for years but because of the personality involved people tend to look the other way and just chalk it up to baseless accusations. The whole INDEPENDENT BAPTIST MOVEMENT has had a history of personality worship that is disturbing. Pedos, wife abusers, and adulterers have been given a free pass because of their personality and pecking order in the movement. Anyone who has tried to deal with it immediately gets the “touch not my anointed, neither do my prophets no harm “ speech.

Pastor, thank you for pointing out that this is "no small issue". At issue is the physical safety of very young children this very moment! As I said commenting on this matter elsewhere, the kind of abuse described is the kind of abuse that leads to the death of children every day in the United States. In many cases where a child dies, the friends and neighbors lament, wishing they had done something, as they place candles, crosses and stuffed animals on the dead child's lawn. I don't ever want to wake up and read that there are candles, crosses and stuffed animals on the lawn of the Anderson home because a child has been killed. Beyond the impact on the church and whether to support or disassociate, is the issue of what people are called to do to ensure the safety of eight children in the home, two under the age of five (and thus more likely to die from child abuse.) What action can be taken by those close to the situation to protect the children? As a church leader, I am sure you have some ideas.

May ministries crumble, preachers wither, and churches dissolve if it means no further victims are produced. Messiah said it best when he spoke of the judgment of one who hurts a child. If Pastor Anderson was truly wise and godly he would procure the millstone and do the deed himself and rid us all of the shame he has brought upon the Messiah's name.

PSA is probably generous with time and money due to no real friends per Isaac and Miriam, hating his wife (per Isaac, Miriam, and John- I didn't watch Solomon), and wanting to promote himself and get his name and image out there. The obsession with soul winning I suspect is to make up for the horrific atrocities at the hands of his wife and he at home. It is the ultimate way to spend time outside the home. One cannot argue with it.
My husband is a huge NIFB fan and unfortunately an Andersonite. When I first saw and heard a lot of the spin on doctrine and ridiculous unhinged anger, I said "I bet he beats his wife and kids." This was two years ago.
I'd be shocked if this pastor wasn't the subject of Wednesday night's upcoming sermon...PSA only cares for salvation spreading and to glorify his own name and brand. He uses the Bible to justify horrible actions. Remember- via proof texting, one can make a sermon about their opinion and wrap it in Scripture. Always use the basket analogy- you can literally make a sermon on why baskets are bad, if you search for the word basket.
God gave us discernment also and this whole saga is disgusting, horrific, sad, makes all of us believers look bad, and extremely troubling that eight minors are still in the home. Put your loyalty for the man aside and see the objective facts. I don't care if PSA won every Nobel prize, cured cancer, etc. He is a criminal in the eyes of the law and is the definition of the leader of a high control group.
Look into Dr. Steven Hassan's BITE method...

But God held onto me thru rebellious behavior until my 30’s I saw signs about Bible study & I Know God meant for me to see. Today I know a God of love.

As a wife of a narcissist, who is sure a Believer in Christ (he claims to)... I know exactly what is going on here... I am not physically tortured, but I am emotionally tortured by the abuse... Pastors rarely believe something like that, which means that as a victim you are also exposed to ridicule, being called a rebel, a disobedient woman - who is responsible for this treatment herself and even deserves it...
one thing is also proven, we are not saved by our works... nor damned, because we believers belong to Jesus - he has accomplished everything for us... if Steven has accepted that, he is real... he only loses his crowns at the BEMA seat of Christ... for hitting and missusing his wife and his children, but I'm so glad Anderson is finally being exposed... Ok, it's time to talk about the "elephant in the room" or in this instance, the pulpit in front of the pastor. Is that some sort of custom made piece designed with ergonomics in mind or one craftsman's artistic sense in attempting to marry a good bit of antiquity with a funhouse flavor of Art Nuovo or even contemporary? Maybe the unevenness is just an optical illusion (doubtful.) One thing's for certain though, it is most definitely a distraction!

Yup, just like every single major religion and all the followers. Cancer. Humanity's cancer, for thousands of years. Good hearted people will often have their goodness increased through their faith, just as malignant and cruel people will have those traits enhanced by it. But while there are plenty of examples of good, decent people who practise Christianity and every other faith, that does not change the fact that the beliefs themselves are literal poison to our world, and it's due to the existence of these religions that situations like this with Anderson grow into the disaster that they do. Look at how faith was used for the aims of 1930 and 1940 Germany, or the Inquisitions, or the Crusades, or the Afgan Taliban, or Israeli government, or the persecutions of science and tech over the centuries, the persecutions of grouos that are different, the justification for owning people in America's first 100 years.... ALL justified with religion.
If we grew up, matured, and let every single one of them go into the mythology and historical fiction sections of the libraries, and focused on reason, common sense, and objective science to understand and move forward as a whole, then my god the advances we'd make as humanity. It's ALL a "bad tree", mistiroberts....

The supposed correction done with malice, anger, hatred, and a desire to transfer and inflict pain, is just not correct, it doesn’t display Love. Where is the saving for eternity in this, the hatred can send the family into despair, and being lost. The children are just as damaged as any who have been through a war, because this is PTSD. People are saved individually through a relationship with Jesus Christ, who is the Savior not pastors.

Well this seems to be what a believer should be doing. They should cease from strife in it's every form for the LOVE of God contains them. All are to put off anger, wrath, and malice and filthy communication out of their mouths.....and all are to speak only words which edify build up and encourage. They should reject bitterness from their lives and have soft answers that will turn away wrath. One is not to create wrath but rather defuse it! We're to endeavor to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace . One is not to embrace ill will, strife and offence and one is to be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to wrath for the wrath of man works not the righteousness of God. If one wants forgiveness they better be in the mode where they forgive others and not bear grudges and make sure they're walking in longsuffering and showing forbearance and making doubly sure they don't have a short fuse. Short fuse people open their minds to fall into a dark confusion so we plead and appeal to one and all to allow God's LIGHT and LOVE to establish one once again in a good peaceful place.

Little wonder Martin Luther throughout the entirety of his life referred to these people, e.g. the Baptists, as the fanatics. The Logos, who is Christ and God, has little place among them as is evidenced by their spiritual progenitor Bokelzoon and the Muensterites. Too many Christians stop with the definition of Logos as Word, which, in fact it does mean. However, in the Liddell-Scott lexicon there's numerous pages devoted to fleshing out the meaning of this word: rational thought, reason, logic, speech, rational discourse--all of which is noticeably absent in Anderson and his behavior, taking a fold electric cord to whip his children defies any sense of Logos-inspired rationality. Sorry, I have very little sympathy for his wife too--she's as much of a fanatic as he is.

Based on the hate in his online sermons and threats toward the gay community he has given Christians a very bad name for years now. That is not what we are to do. Christ said the greatest witness is our love for others. Anderson doesn’t know how to separate a person’s actions from their worth. Biblically, we separate the sin from the sinner. It was a given that this capacity for anger would go on at home and with anyone who disagreed with him. Personally I suspect that has was se--lly abused as a child and never received justice or healing for that. There is a hurt there that makes him vehemently lash out at gays over all other sinners. There is no hierarchy of sin biblically. Anderson needs healing and love but he needs to repent first. And he needs to step down from the pulpit.

    • @TylerAtonez
      @TylerAtonez 5 дней назад +1

Heidi, it is absolutely works to Repent of your sins, ie. turning from your evil ways. The Bible says so. Jonah 3:10 "And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not."
Also, repent just means to turn, to turn from something. You can plan to go to the store and then repent and stay home. Notice how God repented of the evil (harm) He was going to do. Has God ever sinned? Does he need to turn from His sins? Of course not. God turned from the harm he was going to do to the people of Nineveh. Repent simply means to "turn". So saying repent or repentance without a context is meaningless.
So many people have been misled, when they hear "repent" they think it means "repent of sin". Repent can be applied to so many things. In the Bible when you read repent it never once refers to repenting of your sins. Often it is used to show you need to turn from false gods, unbelief, whatever you are trusting in and to turn to Jesus, to trust in him for your salvation.
