    Jane H commenting …. When I was a child & not far off entering my teens, this was played often on the radio, as all of Elvis’ songs were. As a teenager, I began going to the movie theatre & watching the many movies Elvis made …. Over 31 of them. His singing & dancing, & his totally gorgeous looks, soon saw me becoming a big fan of his, by the time I was 15 & I’ve remained a big fan of his for over 50 years. When Elvis died when he was 42, I was absolutely in shock & devastated. I didn’t live in America. I lived in New Zealand, but Elvis was still hugely popular over here, & I think almost everyone felt the impact of his death. It filled all the newspapers, & television screens. It was just the most awful time, to lose someone so vibrant … someone so brilliant ….. & someone who had made it his pursuit in life to bring joy to others in his performances. As always, a great Reaction from you.

    It's always fun to watch you watch Elvis. He was so smooth in this performance. If you haven't see his movie "It Happened at the World's Fair", I would like to see your reaction to this: ELVIS PRESLEY - HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE 1963 (3:53). This is a scene in which he's trying to cheer a little girl up after her uncle, who's her caregiver, disappears. The version I've provided (in all caps) shows the whole scene and not just the song. It will melt your heart.

    You can see in this video just how much of Elvis' dancing and mannerisms Micheal Jackson borrowed. A LOT. The difference between these legends is that Elvis didn't NEED to choreograph any of his movements -- they were 100% natural. In real time... they just LET HIM GO. EVERYTHING MJ did was choreographed by dance instructors. It's clear to see that without Elvis, there IS no Michael Jackson as he became known in the 1980s.

    • @margarettaylor8107
      @margarettaylor8107 2 года назад +5

      depper also Elvis was much more limber than Michael. Elvis was double jointed
      Did you ever see how far he can turn his neck? Look at his thumbs. His end joints point up. In comparison, Jackson danced like a robot. He even acknowledged that he copied Elvis but just once on Oprah. Michael had to practice hours upon hours and for days. It likely took that long to copy Elvis. But he never could capture Elvis' sultry smile and captivating facial expressions. He was light years away from having Elvis' perfect V shape body and gorgeous legs and the cutest buns, hard as two rocks. In Elvis, sex appeal rhythm poured outo of every pore..like he was part of the rhythm. He reacted spontaneously to the rhythm as he was hearing it at the moment. Jacksin would be lost on stage if he had not rehearsed everything. And to think Michael Jackson fans do mot know and never admit that Jackson stole from Elvis. Elvis never gets credit for all his talents and influences.Elvis never had to use gimmicks as grabbing his crotch, fireworks etc to entertain. Elvis was enough. He turned down the first holigram ever to be used on stage because it was a gimmick. He just wanted pure, unadulterated music.

      MJ was way more inspired by James Brown, and that was very obvious in his moves.

    • @depper
      @depper Год назад +1

      @@andersenkalle MJ fans have no idea how much he got from Elvis because MJ always kept his infatuation with EVERYTHING ELVIS a secret. The other Jacksons ... Randy & Janet especially, all exclaimed their love of Elvis. But MJ was jealous and jumped on an imaginary anti-Elvis train that a minute few were on.. Quincy, Ray Charles, Chuck D.... who made up lies about Elvis to make him look like a racist or copycat, when neither were even remotely true.

    • @depper
      @depper Год назад

      @@andersenkalle James Brown was heavily influenced by his VERY close friend Elvis Presley. NO doubts. ruclips.net/video/zrBk0WErpHU/видео.html
      This is one of the greatest, heartfelt vocals of James Brown I ever heard. He was always dynamic but to hear him in this gear -- quite impressive. Elvis would have loved it James. As for those who still insist Elvis was a racist -- well, not with (to name just a few) friends like: Muhammad Ali, Sammy Davis, Jr., BB King, Roy Hamilton, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Ella Fitzgerald, Jackie Wilson and.....James Brown. RIP Mr. Brown. We'll keep your legacy polished.

    During one of ELVIS' SHOWS, MICHAEL JACKSON was there. ELVIS knew about the JACKSON 5 and he asked Michael to come on stage while he took a break, at that time Michael had been watching Elvis and he started dancing like Elvis! I am very sorry, but Michael did not come up with his dance moves on his own. He copied Elvis!!!!

    Deep down he was sad since '58 when his mom died. Those 2 were too close. He was angry. ..his dad moved on according to an 80s movie. ..He was more sad than the public understood.. the real person who would know is the ex wife..

    • @margarettaylor8107
      @margarettaylor8107 2 года назад +2

      Minelli, so much of hose movies about him is fabricated. He never was angry over his mom's death. He was deeply saddened. Elvis in a recorded interviewed said he had moved on. The military kept him busy and helped with that. He did speak of his mom, like we all do, from time to time when loved ones died. Elvis was a joking person. Always joking. He was very close to his father. His mother asked him to remain close. He usually did what his mother asked. His father ran his personal financial affairs. Others, such as Charlie Hodge, Larry Geller, Billy Smith knew him very well. Priscilla never knew his religious side and tried to stop what she did not understand in him.His spiritualism was most important to him..more so than his music. Priscilla has commented she did not understand him then, all the stresses he had, all the responsibility..not until years after he died but it was too late. Please stoo citing movies abiut him.They lie to make money.

      Margaret Taylor...wow! She did state ,"some things were made up.". l know he was not racist but people said ,"he was."? I do know he took prescription pills 💊. Those pills disfigure the features. Plus, he ate greasy foods in his end. He did not mean to kill himself. He had went to the dentist to repair an aching tooth. He took several pills to stop the pains. He over did it...but that ain't suicide u know? This is why one minute he looked great and the next minute he did not...Those pills side effects alters the weight..This is the truth...Not an opinion . This part is not an opinion, l do think.. the military started the meds.for him.. Elvis could have stated in private, his mom 's death bothered him..?.lt probably was not public knowledge.

    • @margarettaylor8107
      @margarettaylor8107 2 года назад

      @@minelliradney9132 You got part right. Would your mom's death bother you? So it did but he moved on like you would. He said in a video interview he moved on but like you, he never forgot her or his teachings. I am not sure how the sleep meds started. Yes he had to stay awake in the frpzen tundra of Germany or he would have frozen to death in frigid temperatures in the field fir 6 mo at a time. I bet you don't know about his carbon monoxide poisoning, trying to stay warm..no tent, no warm place to go. How do truckers cross country without sleep? How do countless swing shift workers stay awake? Amphetamines, that is how. Did you know in the 50's and in his army days and throughout the 70's, amphetamines were prescribed countless of millions of times and were considered safe. But Elvis was different. He had a sleep problem since childhood. Did you know this is a medical condition that needs treatment? Without sleep we die. Without sleep meds, he sometimes stayed awake 3 straight days,. Did you know he sleep walked and amost jumped out a 10 story window before being caught? Did you know he always had someone sleep in his room because of that and the horrible nightmares he was prone to have? Did you know he used so much energy on the stage..so much adrenalin going through his body, that after 6 hours off stage, he could not sleep..adrenalin still souped up in him.So he took meds to get a normal rest. He had to get up the next day to do the same show, same energy requirements. He needed his rest. Did you know he lost 10 lbs each show. He was like running a marathon and he had to consume enormous calories to replenish his energy and weight loss.Did you know his favorite foods were what all southerners eat? Meat loaf and mashed potatoes and black eyed peas etc. If he ate nothing but junk food, why did he have two full time cooks? Because he ate fast food like we all do. No different. Most people are not vegetarians. Elvis was not either. If his diet killed him, why aren't most southerners dead. His Mafia ate the same thing. They took drugs without medical issues and became addicted and did so unlike why Elvis did. They also ate what Elvis had on his table, for free. Fatty Lamar was addicted and ate Elvis out of house and home too. Larry Geller is not a southerner. We southerners have the best food in the world. Geller, from California, did not approve of southern food. Too bad. We love it as Elvis did. Geller was a vegetarian. He got all this nonsense started about Elvis' diet.

    • @margarettaylor8107
      @margarettaylor8107 2 года назад

      @@minelliradney9132 No, the pills were not the major factor in his bloating..not weight gain. He was never fat just bloated from medical issues. What do you think high blood pressure does? He had it and it caused water retention which he needed meds for.He also had a huge medical issue with his colon. Have you ever been constipated for weeks? What does that do when bowels are backed up for miles on end? Your stomach and abdomen protudes like you are pregnant. When he died, he was trying to pass a brick stool. All the straining caused a medical condition called valsalvar maneuver which slowed his heart leading to a fatal arrythmia and heart atrack. That colon blockage also added to his water retention and bloating. His girlfriend Sheila Ryan had not seen him for a few weeks. When she saw him, his appearance had drastically changed to the slim Elvis. She wondered how he lost the weight so fast. Well, he had a bowel movement, getting rid of the bloat. You can compare concert shows as little as two weeks apart with one being bloated and the other back to normal. I suggest you compare for yourself. His backup singers commented that his weight was cyclical from show to show. Elvis took steroids and sometimes pain meds for pain and other medical conditions.Bowel issues can be very painful. This also caused swelling. If you read Sally Hoedel's Destined to Die Young, she researched and discovered Elvis had medical problems in 9 of 11 body systems..genetically inherited. Did you know his childhood doctor, Dr Black, stated Elvis was born with dead nerves in his colon..thus his major constipation. Did you know there is no autopsy report? It is sealed by his father til 2027. But his autopsy doctors confirmed that Elvis died from a heat attack. If you want to know what medical issues he had and what medications he took for them, read his medical professionals discuss them in the last chapter of Elvis Up Close. There have been so many lies about Elvis. So many believe his Mafia men. Guess what? Elvis never confided anything in them, medically or personal. So, all they did was put opinions out as if they were factual which is the same as telling lies. I suggest you read these books. You have been propagandized and treated as an unsuspecting fool. Most people cannot analyze anything. They accept on the surface without using reasoning skills. Treat yourself to the truth by reading these books. Elvis suffered in private. That is the worst thing you will learn . His privacy helped the others put out the lies and make them believable. Behind every good lie, there is a little truth, very little truth.
