This is a real diver watch. No one is going with a simple watch to the deep. This is one of the best options to backup your driving computer.

Great review. Can't beat a dive watch with a depth gauge.

I am a fan of Citizen dive watches. Impeccable build quality and robust, useable watches. They are built like tanks which is both a pro and a con.

This is another great Citizen diver. Probably the best company for real world divers watchea. Ive used various models since the mid 90's. I think the JP2000-8E is a better option though. It is more wearable as a daily piece, has some addtional functions, plus it is easier to see in low viz conditions. This one, although really cool, is a bit too large as a daily and the dial/bezel are not as easy to see. My criticism of the JP2000 is that the bezel is very stiff, particularly with gloves.
Dint discount the cheap and cheerful G Shock though!

You gotta do a video on Citizen Promaster dive watches. Seiko is a great watch brand but they get all the Japanese dive watch love. Citizen deserves some of that too!
Great video! I have that model but in the black and gold. I absolutely love the looks and feel.

Surely a far better diving tool than a Seamaster, Submariner or Seiko, but ironically I'd only consider it if it was an automatic (with less functions) 🤣

This is nice, I ordered a refurb one with bracelet for 250. The charge indicator is not necessary and adds clutter to the dial. It would be more legible without it. The Eco-Drive watches have a low battery indicator simply by having the seconds hand move 2 seconds at a time.
I go spearfishing holding my breath, so the fast ascent alarm may be a nuisance, as the ascent is always fast when breath holding /snorkeling.
I think the Ana digi JP2000 and similar may look more attractive, but I like the analog depth indicator. I already have a spearfishing/free diving watch that is digital that shows me depth, dive time, max depth, surface time.
I wonder if the Jp2000 digital display would not have been as legible.
Anyway, 250 was too good to pass, also this is eco drive, while the jp2000 requires battery changes.
I saw this Aqualand available in Europe in black with yellow accents, and I think that’s the best looking version. But it does not seem available in the USA.
A lot more Promaster options available on the European market compared to the US one, where Citizen seem to have more mall fashion style watches in their catalog

I think this is the modern equivalent of the Al000 series from the mid 90's to early 2000's. Personally, I prefer the look of the original AL0000 and wish Citizen had re-released that one as they did with the JP2000!

This looks like it would be a good beater watch for a professional truck or bus driver. You can't have any kind of cell phone or Bluetooth device while operating, so this watch could provide enough engagement without excessively distracting a driver from their responsibilities.

Citizen really seemed to slim down this model and it's color variations compared to the generation which came out in 2014 like this one for example: ruclips.net/video/pdyG1a0ZHXs/видео.html, I don't mean the limited edition one necessarily but just the regular stainless finish. As a diver and also a long time wearer of watches (predominantly dive watchers) I think this model Aqualand you show here appears less bulkier than the 2014 release but still of course thicker than the much earlier Aqualand non solar versions, which are certainly iconic watches.
In my mind, they are all tools for the sport diver and cumbersome for wearing as a daily wearers and of course easy to possibly damage as a daily wearer from the POV of accidentally banging up the depth sensor. IMHO better to wear a regular diving watch as a daily wearer. As far as I understand, they still are not registered/certified to use as primary depth gauge and thus can only be used as an auxiliary depth gauge to ones "proper depth gauge" whether that be a computer or a standalone one, eg a Sunnto etc. or whatever brand takes one's fancy.
Now as far as "style and design" go, I thinks it's obvious why the 2014 models won a design awards both in Europe and the States and this one didn't (eg see link here www.europeanarch.eu/good-design-awards-archive/2017/12/20/eco-drive-aqualand-2015/).To me the above model lacks all style and also probably is much cheaper for Citizen to produce then the previous Aqualands. The 'Pepsi" moniker, I hate this like they use it for Seiko and the like because despite it being a term of silly "affection" and "nick name" for these types of colored models, it simply bandies around the Pepsi trademark as free advertising for Pepsico, and THEY love it of course from all of these watch aficionados LOL! Now on saying all of that this watch Citizen have addresses a style which will appeal to many non divers out there who simply like the look of this watch and what it may represent to them even if they don't go anywhere near the water. The previous 2014 release series and still available to purchase is much bulkier to wear in an office for example and really as i said a tool for the scuba diver. In terms of practical wearing for non divers, it is still not a practical watch as some sweat or water on the water sensor will activate the depth sensing circuitry and hence unnecessarily use the battery -which may be a pain if u are not actually using it for diving. Just one last thing, the color of the depth hands and red in general will be diff to see at depth and also poor viz lighting UW. That goes for any watch marked up with these colors. As far as diving goes, me thinks it's a watch for tropical crystal clear seas, maybe useful on repetitive dives?

I have the Seiko Pepsi and I just seen this today in the mall. I am trying so hard to like it but I really don’t. I don’t like that it basically beats like a quartz instead of like the Seiko Padi Pepsi at 21,600 beats per hour But yet somehow this watch can’t do that but feels like the list price should be higher than a Seiko Padi Pepsi. I just watch actually in rages me so much to where they can ask that price for basically a solar quarts movement. The Seiko Is 100% superior in every way but these fools at citizens think they want to list it higher than the watch. This watch makes me insanely aggravated. I have tried to love it as hard as I can.

I have one of the earlier depth meter Citizen Aqualand watches. After reading their manual, I realize the depth meter is more gimmick than tool. They clearly state several times it should not be used to read depth accurately enough to make life and death decisions. It’s too bad they included a function in a professional, dive watch that isn’t accurate to use as an actual diver’s tool.😨
