    Wow! Amazing ribbon treasures! Fabulous! So pretty! What a great score of the ribbon! Yeah! The coral is so whimsical! Corinna! Creative genius! My great auntie was a milliner from Russia, her sister, my great grandmother was a seamstress for a countess. My great uncle Joseph was a tailor, and designed one of General Eisenhower's most famous uniforms. They all came here with advanced skills. I was never fortunate enough to see any of my great aunties millinery creations. I remember visiting her, and seeing her extra long hat pins; they were from the Edwardian era!

    Thanks for mentioning my comment about silk faille ribbons. I think that generally silk faille is lighter weight and a bit shinier than grosgrain and the ribs are finer and less pronounced. Your finds in this video are astounding!!!

    Wow! I really enjoyed this haul. The velvet bracelet holder is awesome - I have never seen one before. I love the heavy glass ink bottles too and so glad you now have a collection of 3 😊 The little birdcage is so adorable. And that dish of sea things is an absolute gem. The textures and forms of nature are just incredible and inspiring! The paper mache dish is a work of art itself 😊 Thanks so much for sharing it all with us 😊

    Good haul there. I'd be tempted to wind some of your ribbon around the bracelet holder and attach a pin to hold it in place - two displays in one!

    Omg reminds me of this time I had a purple starfish. The smell that emitted from that thing I had to yeet that thing out the apartment. That was a long time ago lol. 😅
    But the dead little coral makes me kinda sad. It makes me wonder how they were “harvested” to sell. Like were they already dead? I mean they’ve been bleached and it must be hard to bleach already dead coral without obliterating it into sand. I just don’t wanna know because I’m afraid of the answer.

    • @TarnishedTreasures1
      @TarnishedTreasures1  5 месяцев назад

      I guess I’ve never thought about the coral like that. I think these are pretty old.

  • @brandyrios3394
    @brandyrios3394 5 месяцев назад

    You know what that white branch coral is. It's the orange coral they use to use to makes necklaces ad earrings. But it's bleached white. I have a lot of different corals and they are all white. I am going to guess that they were brought out of the ocean like that because Climate Change had started and people weren't paying attention yet.
