I own a 17 week old Shepherd puppy and he is a handful, can be tiring we have had GSDs in the past so I'm no novice. Active difficult to train extremely willfully and quick. Solidly super intelligent.
I musta gotten a broken GSD cuz mine is completely fine being a couch potato lol he just wants to be near me at all times. And I mean ALLLL times 😂. He’s all black and from a working line. You’d think he’d be way more…energetic. But we got such a chill one. It’s great. Unless there are small woodland creatures around. Then you’ll see him run 25 mph uphill just to chase them down.
Owning a German Shepherd is NOT hard---It's a privilege! If you know NOTHING about dogs, let Alone Shepherds, you shouldn't have ANY animal. This Video is STRETCHING the truth about Shepherds. They are VERYY adaptable! If you know how to train and deal with dogs you're not going to have all the Exaggerated issues they say here. However---the HAIR issue IS TRUE, rofl! I do recommend a large yard but atleast a yard where they can run around and play. They are prone to dysplasia. NEVER have heard of or had issues with myopathy EVER nor had issues with bloat EVER. You should never leave Any animal alone for extended periods of time but a shepherd can be left alone while you're at work and be just fine. I've never had issues but I train mine correctly. All puppies are a challenge. Not just shepherds, so you have to get through the puppy stage. Training is the answer, as always. If you can't do that---Don't get ANY DOG.

You are correct, but our goal is to provide valuable information so that first-time German Shepherd adopters are aware of the challenges they may face
A dog is a lifellong comitment I live on a remote farm saddly my GSD passed of old age but I still have a Catahoula and a Treeing Walker
