it’s easier than i thought! i have a handbag that came with a strap that is too thin for my liking, definitely gonna try this :) thank you for the tutorial
You're timing is perfect! I'm working on a bag & the handles, & I don't like the way my simple single crochet one is working out. Love this idea, how thick & strong yours looks! There's frogging in my future! LOL! Thank you for sharing! 😊🧶💙
My pleasure, Melody! I'd love to see your bag when you're done! If you're willing to share with our community, send it to my email (franniessquare@gmail.com) for Show & Tell.😊🧶
Thank you so much for this amazing video!! I always struggle with bag 💼 handles. I love the way you made the strap!! I hope you have a fabulous day!! 😊💚😊💚
Love this idea for a handle, as it happens I have just finished crocheting a bag and I had planned to make the handle tomorrow, I will use this technique I love it, thanks for sharing Frannie, take care and keep well from Australia.
oh yeah, the thermal stitch! I keep wanting to try using it to make a cozy for my French press, but i wonder if it would be too stiff? Thanks for another fine tutorial, Frannie! That bag turned out great, so cute for summer!
Hi Carol, I don't remember how long I made that handle. I hung it over my shoulder to make sure it was the length I wanted. I'm sorry, I know that's not much help. Thank you so much for watching!💕
Thank you for this video - So far, my handle is working up well; however, the sides look sloppier than yours and I wanted to ask if you have any tips for this? Thank you again.
I try to keep the tension the same as I go. When you’re first learning a stitch, you don’t have the muscle memory and the stitches may have varying tension. As you practice the stitch, that should resolve. Also, you want to make sure that you are not adding or subtracting stitches at the end of each row. Another thing you can do if you find that the sides looks sloppy is to put border on it at the end. I hope this helps. Thank you so much for watching!
You could crochet the strap directly onto the bag by using the same method of attaching to the ring, but instead attach to the purse. When you're done making the strap, you'll need to crochet the other end directly into the other side of the purse. I hope this makes sense. Thank you for watching!💕
Que complicado y que perdida de tiempo. Es mejor hacer 2 tiras simples rapido y luego unirlas con punto corrido como yo hago y me quedan muy fuertes y bonitas.
For some reason I have never understood how to fibrous stitch even from other videos. Your video is the best explained I’ve ever watched. Thanks
I'm so glad you found it helpful! Thank you for watching!💕
This is awesome. A strap without all the stretching. Thank you! 🙂
My pleasure…i can’t stand when the straps stretch too much.😊
I've seen this stitch before but was intimated by it. You made it look so much easier! Thank you!
My pleasure...it really isn't that difficult at all. Let me know if you end up using it.😊💕
Awesome a new stitch I learned. Thank you!
My pleasure! And it's so easy and useful!😊🧶
I like how this worked up. I've never done the thermal stitch before. Thank you for sharing it.

Thanks, Roxi! I think it could be nice for a cozy. Would you do it in the round?
Really like this handle, thank you
I'm glad you like it, Becky! I was so disappointed in so many of the handles I tried. When I found this, I felt like I hit gold😁.

Brilliant tutorial thank you.👏🏻

Neat stitch!
Yes, I really like it...I feel some trivets coming on...lol!😂
I have a dumb question I suppose but....do you make two of these? One for each side of bag or is it connected to each with one strap?
Not a dumb question at all. I made one handle and attached each end of it to the sides of the bag. Thanks so much for watching!❤️
@@FranniesHair Can I see a picture of this bag with the handle attached? It might help me understand for sure.
Thanks.
Cathy
i wanna make this but i don’t wanna use a ring i wanna attach it directly to the bag. how can i do that?
You could crochet the strap directly onto the bag by using the same method of attaching to the ring, but instead attach to the purse. When you're done making the strap, you'll need to crochet the other end directly into the other side of the purse. I hope this makes sense. Thank you for watching!💕
@@FranniesHair thank uuu i’ll give that a try

Eso suena como una buena solución también. Me gusta mucho la puntada térmica. ¿Lo has usado en absoluto?💕
