    Maybe Yongnou doesn't respond to your emails because of your communication skills, kinda rude. I just purchased one of this flashes and did over 8 hours and the adjusting of the flash head was a none issue, sorry I just believe you are overreacting to a silly issue. Great alternative to the canon overprice speedlite which I own one as well. The Yongnou also fits snug on the camera, just saying.

    I was gonna buy this flash, but after watching your review i changed my mind and bought Canon 600EX-RT and i am happy for my decision. thanks

      Thanks for watching glad it helped. Yeah they are definitely not Canon, but a decent alternative on a budget. How much if any wobble does the hot shoe have on the 600ex-rt? Let me know.

    @x1DemonHunter1x 8 лет назад +1

    Thanks for the video however you really complained about the wobble on a flash thats $400 cheaper than the alternative.. especially when canons wobbled too. anyway thanks for the video...

    • @DamianDodd
      @DamianDodd  8 лет назад

      I don't like the wobble on either :) At least it's not as bad on my Canon flash. I'd like to hear if it's as bad on Canon's 600exrt.

    Damia, man what did you expect from a cheap copy??? man if you want more quality you have to spend the money!

    • @DamianDodd
      @DamianDodd  9 лет назад +1

      True. But after spending $500 on the 580exII and seeing that YN makes a decent copy, I wanted to try it out. For pros there's no question go Brand, but for those on a budget Yongnuo is decent.

    I am a firm believer in that you only get what you pay for I bought two the problem with the movement of the flashgun when mounted on the camera is caused by the thickness of metal foot it is thinner than the canon one I have used them for awhile now, the number of flashes you get with a set of batteries are optimistic.

    • @DamianDodd
      @DamianDodd  8 лет назад +1

      I hear ya. Yongnuo makes very decent starter budget flashes. But if you're a pro getting regular gigs Canon's are the better choice.

  • @lilitdk
    @lilitdk 9 лет назад +1

    Well the YN-E3-RT trigger is nice and it does have fokus assist also even if you don't have a flash it can be a help in the dark ;)

    A 25 cent #30 o-ring will fix you movement issue.

    Greetings Damian ... your videos are fantastic!!!!
    Any suggestions on what model Yongnuo Flash (not this one, too costly) would be best for a Canon shooter, myself, that just needs off camera flashes controlled from my camera using my Phottix Atlas II remotes. Shooting outdoors, high shutter speeds on the camera to control depth of field. Don't need all the bells & whistles on the flash ....thanks in advance for any suggestions.
    Cheers from the always Sunny, Music Filled Coachella Valley,
    Brian

      Sorry for late reply. Glad you like my videos. I need to get back to making them more regularly. HSS or High Speed Sync isn't typically available on the cheaper flashes. But there are some under $100 that have it like Pixel amzn.to/1TGGST8 and Newer amzn.to/1sRBWlY. You'll have to check Phottix compatibility. Good luck!

    I got a Question, my YN600EX-RT, has an Amber Back light for the Display, how do I change it to Green to Match the Canon Version? I saw another unboxing video and the back light was amber also... but yours is Green, like I like..

      You know what, I just realized YN doesn't have a Nikon version and I had put "for Canon and Nikon" in the description. My apologies!! It's a copy of a Canon flash after all. But YN has Nikon versions for most of their other flashes. They do have a firmware update to the YN-E3-RT Canon controller to let a Nikon fire the YN600exrt off camera, if that helps. bit.ly/1RtCbYu. I have removed "for Nikon" from the video description. Again, sorry for my mistake.

    Thanks for the great video! Does TTL work with the high speed sync? I've read reviews for different third party flashes and the HSS works, but only with the HSS flash at full power, and there doesn't seem to be any exposure compensation. Any info about the HSS would be helpful!

    • @DamianDodd
      @DamianDodd  9 лет назад

      Lee-Anne Cowling Thanks for watching. I don't use TTL so I don't know if it works over HSS. These guys did a thorough review perhaps they could answer your question. www.kamandula.es/foto/yn-600ex-rt-english/ Or you could try contacting Yongnuo, but I've never gotten a reply.

    Most photographers would use ocf so don't really see a big problem!

    • @DamianDodd
      @DamianDodd  9 лет назад

      Russell Webb As I said it would bug me most if I was using it on camera and moving the head a lot to aim at different walls. Otherwise, and certainly off camera, it's not a big deal. Thanks for your reply.

    You're not missing anything regarding YN email responses. They'll just tell you:
    a) the wrong info
    b) to update the firmware
    The foot is a known issue across their entire production line. I actually think the Canon shoe must be smaller in China ;)

    • @deansphoto
      @deansphoto 9 лет назад

      45Supergun Considering Canon's 2014 net income was $2.1 billion vs Yongnuo's of *not found*. I run two Canon 600RTs and three of the Yong 600RT units for OFC. They all work the same.

      Jimmy Roland Hi thanks for watching. I ended up keeping it. The wiggle isn't terrible if you consider 1. My Canon had some wiggle too. 2. For many event photogs, they'll put on a Gary Fong and won't be moving the flash head a lot. The Yongnuo has even dropped $20 since I made this.

    • @0927145
      @0927145 9 лет назад

      ***** I plan on purchasing that one Next week, I will put my Gary Fong on it and it should work like a charm..I am getting all my photo buddies to subscribe to your channel, Most of us Shoot Canon, and a few shoot Nikon, so you know we go back and forth a lot!!! thanks again for the Review..

      Jimmy Roland Great. Hope the Fong is universal, I have a cheap knockoff and would like to get a Fong to compare. Thanks for spreading the word, do also check out my blog at dslrnerd.com and I'd love some feedback - and despite Yongnuo not ever answering my emails, I still reco them on a budget. Purchasing from my Amazon link in the notes is appreciated!

      I have the Knock off Gary Fong as well as the Real Gary Fong, I just ordered my Speedlite, lol I couldn't wait.. Now I have 4 speedlite's I will give one to my Girl for Her Camera... I will check out your Blog, my Camera is a T3, I plan to get a 7D MK2 in a few months.. upgrade time... I chose the 7D MK2 for the shutter speed and dual card function...
