A handy tip, NEVER touch the battery with bare fingers, use a cotton or latex glove or a clean handkerchief, the acids and oils in your fingerprints will cause a slight amount of oxidation on the surface of the battery. The battery doesn't have the capacity to push through the oxidation caused by your fingerprints, the end result is you are shortening the life of the battery. If you touch the battery surface clean it off with rubbing alcohol. Also, never use metal tweezers to handle disk type batteries. This advice applies to any item that uses that type of battery, red dot sights, watches, car remotes etc. I learned this from training given on watch battery replacement given by one of the battery manufacturers, so this is straight from a leading manufacturer of these batteries.
I'll take one sights installed and 3 shamwows....
OMG too funny!
LOL man I'm dyin
Lmfao
Hahaha
I just bought a milled slide for a 43 from Brownells to finish out a SS80 lower. If glockstore had a milled slide, or even better a slide and RMS combo I bet they'd sell like hot cakes
What optic you use? I have same build same slide no Optic yet. what does it all fit?
@@joejeans7913 I have a shield rmsc. If I had to do it again I'd have bought a sig romeo zero or a holosun 407k
Thanks Lenny!, for your explanation of "light" altering your perception, I totally thought I was someplace else, but then it occured to me, that it was just a shadow,............ I'm good now.
I love this dude he reminds me of my old teacher who fought in the war
Lenny needs a podcast....He is awesome
LENNY!!! Thanks Brother. Good info!
Hi there, Billy Mays from the Glock Store. for the first 100 callers, with the purchase of this sight we will apply our custom hammer and chisel mill work to your slide. shamwow
lol
how can I order that barrel and sight set up for my 43?
@@billcaufman9331, what "barrel"?
He forgot to wear his blue shirt
Why would you use red lock tight on the screws if you have to take the plate off to change the battery.
It adds a rubber barrier to the threads so the screws can't shake out from excessive shaking from shooting. You can still unscrew it. We use it to mount our motors to drone frames for the same reason.
Why the red over the blue loctight?
I thought the same thing. I wouldn't want to hold a torch to it just to break that RED Locktight loose. I'll use BLUE to be safe.
i was thinking the exact same thing,, torch on a 300 dollar optic just doesn't seem like a good idea just to change the battery
You guys do realize there are different “numbers” of loctite..... right. Depending on the number, blue loctite does comes in a red bottle, and also comes out red. On the bottle there’s a small blue label. Don’t be so quick to bash.
This one fits the g43 nicely, it doesn’t hang over the sides
Lenny,........Still showing that cool never goes out of style! The right for you to bear your arms are still looking good buddy! Now I am off to the gym!
How much for just the slide milled for a Holosun 507K? Or how much to mill my slide with the taped posts in the proper place for the 507K
Tennessee is a good choice Lenny. That just might be far enough south to keep bad weather from affecting your shipping. The mill work on that slide does look challenged, at least on camera, what happened? You, of course, know people don't want to have to put a file to something thats been worked on a milling machine. With the tech in machinery these days that slide doesn't look good. I wouldn't be happy if I had paid for that work, even if you don't see it.
Lenny drinks Red Bull to relax :-). Stay safe Sir. Thank you for the video.
Hey Lenny cut down on the coffee Son..your way to excited.....lol!
Lenny has it figured out.
with you using red Loctite I hope that battery lasts forever, I understand that it takes heat to get red Loctite loose, and with that plastic plate...….
So the screws make it stay put right? If not it slid in way too easy for me to think it will hold any semblance of zero
Could you tell me if this 2948 red dot sight and the 2949 mount would fit my glock 42? thank you
Lenny .How can do install holosan407k on glock43 or not.please kindly reccommended.
Any chance we can see what the RMSc would look like mounted on something like a G26? Not sure if it would look strange having a red dot that’s smaller than the width of the slide.
I bought the Glock 19 gen 4 that already has the slide milled and is ready for optics str8 out of factory. Still braking it in.
What is the difference between 4-Moa and 8- moa?
whoever got that one was lovin' that red locktight when they had to change the battery.
I was wondering 'bout the red.
Maybe Lenny would carry this combo for a year in the hood and then tell us how well it works.
How does Lenny like his Loctite? Shaken, not stirred. 😎
That sight is nice but it cost more than I paid for my 43. I still want one! Then I'll have to get a match barrel, extended base plate ahhhh...
Is this the guy who does the MONSTER TRUCK spots on the radio ? Seriously though you have helped me quite a bit with your fantastic videos 💪
I think SCCY's new CT's are smaller than those.
Are these worth having for me? I just target shoot not train
That Glock 43x rail edition is where it’s at wish I had one of those instead of the regular 43x. I hope one day that glocks put rails on there sub compact frame like the p80 frame and the sub compact oem glocks that are 45 and 10 mil those sub compact frames come with rails. If they can do it with the 43x don’t see why they can’t with the 26 and 27 and 33. The 43x is basically 19 grip with a 26 length slide but jus slimmer since it’s single stack
Glock 30 all factory and it’s a awesome pistol. All this laser optics or other fancy stuff is just for show and no go.
Glock should not just sell the optic ready versions of the bigger models like the 17 but should sell factory guns with optics installed. Not with some mounting plates, directly milled in the slide.
The Walther PPS m2 with this very Shield RMSc already installed is $650 from the factory. Glock needs to step up their game!
I love everything about it......besides for the price.
Can you mill a Glock slide to be identical to a factory Glock MOS side? That way the slide can accept multiple MOS’s and not just a specific MOS that the slide would be milled for? Also, some folks get their slides milled to have suppressor height night sights placed in front of the MOS instead of behind it. Is that possible to do as well, if you are able to mill the slide identical to a factory milled MOS slide?
Thank you!
Can I do the same process on a Glock 17 with the full size shield RMS?
Will this fit a glock 48
When will glock make a slide and RMR for the Glock
26?
My boy look like he gonna ask Spider-Man for rent
Does the sight come with the mounting plate?
How much does it cost to have a red dot on my glock I’m from florida
I always just use 2sided tape 3m. Not the cheep stuff good to go keep it simple right Lenny
Shield also makes an adapter for the MOS glocks. It allows it to sit lower than the normal MOS plates and co-witnesses with the standard height sights. I have been running one on my daily carry 19 gen4 with no issues. Really a solid little design.
omgwtfbbq195 I have the same setup.
Link to the shield adapter please
Can you put a red dot on a g42?
Shield is only for competition so if your a self defense guy like me it isn’t made for conceal carry because it will not stand up for self defense or duty use, even Shield has stated that,it’s a waste of a red dot
I need to send in my slide for you guys to work on.
You used red locktite, when that battery dies how are you going to remove those screws to change it?
recommendation on CC holster with red dot for G43? non existent?
Does this one fits G42?
I want to get my glock 26 slide milled with window cuts will it be the same price as getting a larger slide milled with window cuts?
Does the rmr cc fit it.
What's that little hammer called
Does the shield have an on / off switch or is it constantly on?
How to send my Glock 43x to your store and have a red dot optics done and how much?
Will the sight fit on the 43X
Will this site fit on a Sigg Sauer 238?
I caught that, another gun entity moving out of california Lenny ?. We welcome you to the south sir with open arms.
What mini red dot would be good for a ak 9mm with a picattiny rail. I want to co witness the front post with the red dot if posible
Will it fit a 42? Is there a mount for it?
Whats that a 50 Moa dot?
Glock Store How do i mount this without removing my rear sight? The hokes in the sight do not match the “wider spread” ones in my slide and i can only find plates that replace my rear sight. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks
You would have to get it milled
They would mill it in front of the rear sights
@@sonoftherighthand1843 I should have said “i have a spare slide with an RMR cut. I was hoping to mount it to that but have since purchased a holosun. I appreciate the advice though.
How much the shield run
this guy is awesome
When the camera zooms in on the red dot, it make red dot larger. Tell your camera guy not to zoom in and bring the the gun closer to the camera, to see the actual size of the red dot.
If the camera guy focuses on infinity and lowers the exposure just a bit, you'll see the dot at its normal small size.
I'm okay with all of this except you mentioned the Red Dot light stays on all the time, so, the battery is going to have to be changed fairly often, and the sight has to be removed to get to the battery, and you used what looked like Red Loc-Tite?? I would have maybe used Blue its entirely possibly that the sight you mounted may not just unscrew and come back off!
I read it can last up to 3 years. But yeah why red
Will the mount fit on a 43x ?
Will it fit on a 43x?
I want one Lenny. it looks Great
No on and off switch for the red dot? So it stays on all the time?
How long will the battery last?
3 years
lenny will be illegal soon!!!! stay tuned
I like the idea of reflex sights on EDC's. But I have questions about the reliability of the various rear sight dovetail replacement mount plates. Also, my CCW issuer has a policy that all carry guns must be factory, with no aftermarket parts (trigger kits/jobs etc.) or modified in any way. This rules out buying one of your custom slides or having my stock side milled.
So how about a torture test to see if the various dovetail mounts can hold up to real world bumps and stupid human tricks?
If the mounting plate cannot be depended upon in a worst case scenario... The advantages reflex sights offer are moot!
Ouch you just used permanent LocTite. Go blue next time.
How do you change the battery if you use red loctite?
You can undo the screw with enough torque...not much of an issue
@@necstanunn I don't know i would have used blue, (removable strength) i belive
The battery installs from the side. No need to remove the site to replace the battery.
Red loctite origin story. red finger nail polish. Never really been 'unturnable' just more strength to do so than blue or none.
Vigilance247 No it doesn’t. The RMS does, the RMSc does not have a removable battery tray.
Has anyone had the issue of the optic losing zero because he put that on with the force of his hands?
How much longer will you be able to business in California?
Hey guys I have a 30sf any mount plates that you know of??
Will that red dot and dove tail plate work for the glock 48???
There should be one available...Google search for one
Do they have one for a glick 21 gen 4
Inexpensive is less than $150...$300 is expensive as hell.
400 plus 60 for the mount? God damn 😂
Yea and he said it's cheap
@@Operation3Sixty His prices aren’t cheap. Look around and price shop before buying
So the RMS has its own rear sight to cowitness the front sight?
That's what I would like to know too! If so then this will be a purchase for my wife's 43
Hi Lenny What is your favorite mini red dot. Regards Jonas
dont know about the milling job you should fire that guy
Lmao......Why???
@Alan d'Eon It really is a crappy milling job.
@@shiffer8205 Maybe that was Lenny's 1st personal milling Job....lol
@@frankiegunnz8066 : It looks like it was done with a file!!!
@@robertsample42 Lmao.....It does look bad
He called the camera an optic😂
Zak Schrader I laughed too as I heard it. “ the dot appears larger because of the optic” as he is pointing to the camera 😂
Can a red dot be put on a Glock 42?
Is the SS80 the same size or smaller than the 43?
looks like lenny chewed up that slide with his teeth for that rmr cut....
You know, there is a rear sight removal tool.
Love the "armorer's duck tape" tool.....
How do u do business in California? ..
Lenny, I know you're a Glock store but can I use this adapter and the RMS-C on a Sig P365?
Probably a safer and more reliable bet to just Mill your slide for it. I'll be doing the same soon
I'm past the "carrying a red dot" fad. My brand uses batteries too fast, (Now it's my range gun) and those that don't, either cost too much for me, and/ or require full removal, hence subsequent resighting for simple battery replacement. Business must be booming though, because I've looked through this entire section and The Glock Store hasn't answered a single question from any of these potential customers.
Am I missing something?
He does live in California
Rad!..
So easy , Even Lenny can do it!.. 😉
Optic and mount cost as much as stock glock 43... lil pricey. But interesting
Yeah I looked up the price and it's expensive. I'd look at others for the price
Check boogeyman customs
@prod gbc I run the venom on my G19. Really like it
The Venom seems great with the side battery vs battery being on the bottom of the viper. My main issue is that the venom is moa 3 vs moa 6 for viper. I have older eyes. 60. Lol and I think the moa of 6 might be better. Any thought ld on MOA 3 vs MOA 6?
GOD ALMIGHTY GET TO THE FREAKIN POINT!!!!!!!
WORTH THE MONEY! Instant better shot! Buy Vortex!
Like it, just don’t drop it !!
I keep thinking that red ball is a clown nose.
How many Dremel cutoff discs did you use to "mill" that slide Lenny ?? Lenny's second job is selling used cars on the weekend !
Lenny, I have a lot of respect for you but I have to tell you why I have a Shield: The 43 was way way way too late, the. Back strap on the 43 is too fat, there is not grip options with the mags & S&W listened to those points. Now,... a firmer Glock man is now happy with his Shields.
