    I appreciate you putting out info for people but 2 things need to be clarified for future viewers. #1. Never use red thred lock. If your sight ever needs to be repaired or a battery needs to be replaced, you will find out why. Blue thred lock is what you want. #2. The reason you had issues sighting in is because you were trying to adjust your shot group over to your dot. You actually do the opposite. Move the dot to the point of impact. In your initial group, you were low and right, so you need to move the dot down, and right until it meets your point of impact. I have found that the fastest way to do this is using a sand bag. After your first group, with your shooting hand, hold the gun at original point of aim, then use a small screwdriver(so you can see around the tool) and ajust the dot until it lines up with point of impact. This will get you close very quickly assuming you hold still. Best of luck all and happy shooting.

    I think that Lenny needs to do a video around Christmas and sit at that same table and read us a Christmas story......sporting the GlockStore shirt, Mug on the table along with the G19, add a red hat and a beard.... Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house not a creature was stirring Except the three unwelcome visitors who broke down the door....... take it from there.

    I would recommend blue Loctite instead of red in my opinion. From my experience, blue works the best in this application because it leaves an option to remove the device easier in the event the red dot unit breaks and needs to be swapped out. I have never had blue loosen up on me.

    An observation; Holosun should spend a “Penney or two” to provide an appropriately sized tool/handle to adjust the optic. Lenny was fighting the mini tool as much as the adjustment challenge. Thanks for all you do Lenny.

    •  3 года назад

      I don't want to spend more for tools I don't need and others would agree with that. Don't use little mini tools, buy new or from a pawn shop. Tools are very cheap at pawn shops... because they were stolen.

    I like using (or borrowing a friend's) a stationary pistol vice (HySkore, Ransom Rest, etc.) for sighting in optics. It takes the human error out of it. After all, a fellow wants his optic to be dead on. As always, another good video by Lenny.

    A little “hate” on here for Lenny, but y’all need to give that a rest. Lenny is being deliberately slow and meticulous with this so that anyone at any knowledge level can understand the process. Yes... it’s like watching paint dry to you high-speed operators, but why did you even click on a 20 minute video on installing an optic in the first place? You already know this stuff!
    Lenny, nicely done. I even like the fact that you click/adjust in the wrong direction once. Heck, that’s a mistake that many folks would make. Well, not the afore mentioned high-speed operators of course... :-)

    With iron sights you adjust the blade (rear sight) in the direction to where you want your groups. If you hit low to the right, you adjust the blade up and to the left; thus the barrel will point higher and more to the left, with the same sight picture. I don't know but suppose that the "Up" and "Right" on the Holosun 507C dictates the direction of impact, if adjusted accordingly (as is the case with Aimpoint red dot sights).

    • @TheSuburban15
      @TheSuburban15 6 лет назад +1

      Correct. Turn the screw "up" to move point of impact up on the target, or "right" to move point of impact to the right. This will be the case for just about all modern scopes and red dot sights, but there may be some odd-ball exceptions.

    The 1st group is the best causing the min parallax position is there.This kind of reflex sights by moving the light sources against the glasses to complete E/W adjustments get the same problem. One will understand better by 200y or longer rifle shootings. It’s hard to hit the target paper even. Try to compare it with Sightmark Mspec that has a different E/W system to keep the sight always at the min parallax .

    First time I watched one of your videos sir. It was very understandable! I want a rds on my 2.0 EDC but all the ones have looked, less then $200.00, I had to completely remove my rear sight. That just doesn't feel right with me. I've spend hours of dry fire and $1000.00s dollars on ammo and loosing the rear sight just doesn't set right with me. Even tho my 71 year old eyes are finding it getting harder and harder to see my front sight, even HiVis sights like truglow TFX Pros. True be known, I probably need new glasses and my problem should be solved!

      @@mikehoncho806I focus on target with my irons and I can hit 100 yards easily. With my red dot? Definite target focus as that's how they are designed. Focusing on the dot defeats the purpose of one. A red dot is for fast target acquisition. You look at the target then just bring the dot up into view. Having both eyes open is also key to this as it makes the optic body go opaque/see through, due to binocular vision. Fun fact. You can shoot a red dot accurately with the front cover blocking it. Assuming you have two eyes of course.
