Sadly that tends to be the theme in a lot of Low ELO Legends videos. The player with the lead doesn't play aggressively enough to turn their advantage over the other player into a win which allows for the other player to turn things around. It's like these players suddenly get isit syndrome and refuse to fully commit to a game ending raid.

In my experience, low elo team games usually go either two ways: 1. One player of each team is slightly better, so it ends up being an 1v1 with other teammates slinging or playing simcity in the corner 2. All players are equally bad so the game lasts for hours to no end until players start dropping because their mothers calls bedtime. The team in the earlier timezone wins.
Honestly I've learned so much more from watching low elo legends than from watching good players. I did so many of the dumb things in these games, I still do a lot of them when my attention slips, somehow it's easier to see cause/effect from someone else's screw up compared to when you're actually in a game when you're focusing on so many things.

I think the argument for Autoscout is that a lot of lower elo players do struggle with multitasking, and of all the aspects of the game, scouting is the easiest one to implement automation for, and allows players to focus on learning other for parts of gameplay without fear of not doing some accounting for the scout. Overall it's helped me build some better early game fundamentals, and once I can target scouting as a point of weakness in a match up that isn't more damaging than not knowing when to start my tech for instance, I'll use Autoscout at points when I know I need to focus elsewhere fully to have a good outcome.
I haven't played AoE in over a decade, and I was practically screaming at blue to build a barracks, start producing infantry, and to wall off his castles. That was such a hard throw
Blue: I'm going to take advantage of my Civ Bonus so I get an Eco Lead and position myself strategically across the map to take Map Control while also raiding red with my Steppe Lancers and denying him of resources. Red: HAHA HUSKARL GO BRRRRR
This was a fun match to watch. I think Blue could have won if he had built multiple stables forward earlier instead of having them trickle in 1 at a time to replenish his force. He kept winning the advantage but didn't have the sustain to keep the pressure on. It gave Red a lot of time to recuperate every time. And since he was producing out of more and closer he kept taking the advantage back and eventually won the castle fights. The battles around 33:00 are a prime example. He seemed to eventually realized that, but by then Red had too much military presence (and pointy boys) that it was simply too late. But it's all a learning experience. I kinda want to see a current match of Blues just to see how he's evolved as a player.
"So what did we learn here Dorthy?" 25:11 - We learned that GATE WALLS, followed by a hard push, would have won him the game right here and there. A gate wall in front of the trebs, and maybe a few on the side IF needed. I can't understand why people, even the top 30 pros, don't gate wall there trebs more often.
I thought the lesson is when you have the lead you need to capitalize on it by going for the win. After all, giving the other player a chance to breathe is a chance they can use to turn the game around.
Did anyone notice the stop hand signal? Auto-scout is great. It’s weak enough to not be a go-to for mid-level players in the early game, but it’s still useful in high-level games, and not everyone cares to become pro. If I had it, I would use it when I realize that my scout has been idle for the past 5 min. I do think it would be better if the scout became slower when it’s automatically scouting, though. I think that would be a useful balance.
30:25 I'm the exact opposite which is even worse.. I'm dipping into everything "in case it's needed". And because of that it results in never having enough of something to make good use of them. I never hit the critical mass of any sort of unit to be a powerful force... Unless I'm playing a water map in which case my options are forcibly limited down to the different kinds of ships and I can specialize better.
t90 after RB Cup: 'Chat please don't be so hard on pros, they are already hard on themselves' t90 in Low elo legends: 'it's fine to make fun and patronise lower elo players'
Maybe a lot of these player cut straggler trees because in AOE 1 you typically build a granary/mill first and must chop the straggles to have enough for a storage pit/lumber camp.
In terms of swapping strats, I like to fc into knights regardless of the opponent (as Slavs) and I'll continue to use then with mangs/onagers if against archers, or with druzhina infantry and scorpions if more infantry or they go calv! Druzhina halbs so good!
Thank you very mich T90! You brought me to buy and play AoE 2 again. If been playing it when i was a schild several years and i didnt knew there is a remake. I found a Video from you by random... now i cant stop playing. Hope one day you'll commentate a game of me. 😅
"Not everyone is able to control their wood how they like, thats just life." Also "if theres one thing that bothers me about low elo legends its how they use their wood." Somehow i dont think we're talking about literal now hahaah 😉
Blue is farming at the stable + barracks - I think the Khmer bonus should work that way, that they can drop off food at any (non-farm) building, not that they just beam it to your food account.
As a super weak player i kind of like the goths, as most of my weaknes is micro and unit/production control, but i do have a grasp of strategy. goths basically allow you to focus on your resources and production and because you outproduce anything lategame you dont have to worry too much about micro, you can just stream units into the enemy base and let them do their own thing, for the most part
I mainly do autoscout after I scouted my base, but still keep it on a control group and periodically go back to it. once I found my enemy I take it off autoscout to find my enemys resources and keep an eye on him until I have a few military out and then I put it on autoscout again
Not gonna lie watching this was PAINFUL. Why, just why, didn't Blue mass-build production buildings and then just pump out anything at all?!?!? Those insane resources all for nothing 🤦♂️
Thanks to your videos/streams, I feel like I do a lot fewer low legend mistakes, but my APM is still that of a low legend, and I'm not sure that will change any time soon.
I'm not following every single game but I like to watch most of them, some time ago I saw that the uploads upgraded to 4K, then some random 1440 and now back to 1080, it would be great if in the future there would be more 4K, did I miss some comunications about it? I think that the no changing of strategy in game would probably go a lot higher up in ranking than you would expect, my guess is that at least 50% of players can't switch directions if their first strategy doesn't pan out.
I'd guess far more. I don't know at what percentile the 800 ELO (which these players are) is, but I'd guess it might be somewhere around the midpoint actually.
If anyone watches him on twitch, will you ask him: Why does T90 use old hotkeys, I literally do not get it? Let me say this first, he's always been used to the old way and that's why he likes it, he's use to it. The new hotkeys are literally the same layout as the qwerty keyboard, house = Q. The farm is below the house in the menu so the A = farm is below the Q = house, it's so easy. Town Center is below the farm, so the Town Center is Z because it's below the A(farm) on the keyboard. For literally every new person, the new way is better and easier to learn. Is there an actual strategic or ergonomic benefit to using the old way? I cant believe as much as T90 complains about this "veiw lock" bug, that nobody from Microsoft has seen his videos and explained the operator error that T90 is experiencing. When you use view lock, you choose their name and it puts you on their view in that exact moment, and as long as they don't move before you click view lock, it works. T90 watches every pro play, so by the time he can normally click the view lock, the pro has already moved on. It's not so much an operator error, but more that T90 can't catch the pros view. I never tried to turn view lock on when on red, click to blue and then back to red while view lock is on, might work and would be a more guaranteed to catch their view.
T90 uses old hotkeys because the game has been around for 20 years, and it's hard to unlearn/relearn a habit after that amount of time. It's the same reason why there are still many CSGO pros using 4:3 resolutions despite the 16:9 resolutions being objectively superior. The cost:benefit of relearning something lthat they are used to isn't worth it to a lot of people.
@@Kreege I just wanted to make sure there was not an actual reason since I'm still new and could switch if I wanted to. On the other hand; I would agree 100% with you if T90 did not encourage the old way, and that's why I'm here. In the LEL #11 he said the old way is much better, trust me or something like that, so let me re-ask, why does T90 recommend the old way if the only way he has ever done it is the old way, don't you have to try both before you can recommend? I absolutely love T90, legit #3 RUclipsr for me, but it's annoying hearing an ignorant person suggest something. It's like telling T90 he spectates wrong when I have never spectated before. @@shawnbybee85 Hmmm.... I must have missed the bit where he suggested the old AoC hotkeys. Do you mind time-stamping it? To be honest, I am not experienced enough to know whether there is some sort of practical aspect of the old hotkeys that makes them objectively superior to the HD+DE hotkey set. I would think it is a matter of personal preference, but I am honestly not sure. Without knowing the exact words t90 used, I'm going to guess he simply allowed some bias to shine through. There's nothing wrong with that either, the guy is allowed to have a personality and preferences after all. I would have to hear exactly what he said to make a more accurate judgement though.

T90Official? More like LELOfficial. Loving the surge in Low Elo Legends content! Just waiting for a LEL Tournament. 11
it hurts my soul to watch this series
such a frustrating watch.... I loved it
Any Low elo legends 1v1 tournament coming up? It would be amazing. These games are so unpredictible, players taking turns in crushing each other haha.
T90, WE NEED...
YOU KNOW WHAT WE NEED...
6 HOUR ARENA GAME!!!
Unless I'm playing a water map in which case my options are forcibly limited down to the different kinds of ships and I can specialize better.
so don't do it then.
Imagine haing 9k wood 11k food and still producing units from 1 stable
I only use auto scout in arena or hill fort. On hill fort I patrol my scout outside their base to catch wondering vils
t90 after RB Cup: 'Chat please don't be so hard on pros, they are already hard on themselves'
t90 in Low elo legends: 'it's fine to make fun and patronise lower elo players'
Maybe a lot of these player cut straggler trees because in AOE 1 you typically build a granary/mill first and must chop the straggles to have enough for a storage pit/lumber camp.
In terms of swapping strats, I like to fc into knights regardless of the opponent (as Slavs) and I'll continue to use then with mangs/onagers if against archers, or with druzhina infantry and scorpions if more infantry or they go calv! Druzhina halbs so good!
That was a great game to watch. Thanks for sharing T90
Around 6:30:
Blue: made a transition to gold. Choose to build a mill for one farm rather than a miner camp.
Truly low elo legends :p
@34:21 that wood joke was sneaky
As a super weak player i kind of like the goths, as most of my weaknes is micro and unit/production control, but i do have a grasp of strategy. goths basically allow you to focus on your resources and production and because you outproduce anything lategame you dont have to worry too much about micro, you can just stream units into the enemy base and let them do their own thing, for the most part
I don't know why T90 doesn't freak out when pros cut the straggler trees.
Auto scout is the town bell of map control
I love elow legends keep em going
I watched this on stream and I remember shouting at my monitor because blue wasnt construcring any buildings, in the end a deserved victory for red.
How do you enable that visualization? I read aoe partnered with the visualization dudes, but can't enable that view.
Kills me every time you ask a question and you hear a villager in the background say "ya?" as if they're responding
what a game, definitly more entertaining than pro games because i can identify to these ppl :)
Thank you for not putting the 2 hour game on here, I Don't know if I can watch that again lmfao
Has he said he won't?
@@MadnessTW no, you're right. If he does I will watch but I will be stressed the whole time. It was a long painful game
@@threeprongedfork7061 Indeed it was. Brace yourself, soldier.
I mainly do autoscout after I scouted my base, but still keep it on a control group and periodically go back to it. once I found my enemy I take it off autoscout to find my enemys resources and keep an eye on him until I have a few military out and then I put it on autoscout again
i think those far away fish traps where a "cheap" way to keep scouting the area witout having to worry about it once the fight starts.
Not gonna lie watching this was PAINFUL. Why, just why, didn't Blue mass-build production buildings and then just pump out anything at all?!?!? Those insane resources all for nothing 🤦♂️
Guess he wanted to lose
Thanks to your videos/streams, I feel like I do a lot fewer low legend mistakes, but my APM is still that of a low legend, and I'm not sure that will change any time soon.
I'm not following every single game but I like to watch most of them, some time ago I saw that the uploads upgraded to 4K, then some random 1440 and now back to 1080, it would be great if in the future there would be more 4K, did I miss some comunications about it? Is it going to be a thing 4K games again?
Nice to have the notifications on though, I'm so early on this 😂
RUclips has lowerd the quality of the videos ti easy strain on the internet now that everyone is home and watching Aoe2 videos.

5D Chess move idea: build a fake base in a corner of the map to fool players relying on auto-scouting
I was able to get here so early because my carriage was pulled by the newly buffed super sonic teutonic knights
it is always about how you use your wood. Very important
I see myself in the blue player there 😂
A vid in which Tristan calls Vip a noob. Nice timing bro
If anyone watches him on twitch, will you ask him:
Why does T90 use old hotkeys, I literally do not get it?
All good though, now I just realize he is being 90 years old about it, "I ain't changing my ways"
@@Kreege Not going to lie, was trying not to rewatch a 56 min video for a 5 secs part, but i'll be back
@@Kreege
He didn't recommend it as strongly this time but still did. I've watched all of his RUclips video since DE, I know he has recommended it many times before.

I used to play like red because I had no idea what to counter with. It was frustrating. So I just tried to make more of the same unit
bruh this was my childhood Age of Empires, released on October 26, 1997 i played it on 1998
second castle to better protect the treb - chapeau :D
Just gonna throw this out there. Cumans do get siege onagers. And especially while he held and right after he lost the middle he had a ton of gold and wood. He could have popped a few of those bad boys out really put the hurt on enemy infanty.
